LYRICS:
Whatever Comes Our Way Gavin Dunne 2023
Whatever comes our way
Whatever paths we follow
I will share your pain
Your laughter and your sorrow
The river running wild and free
The winds of fortune gently flow
There is a wonder in the weave
So many forks upon these roads
For a burden that is shared
Is much easier to bear
We will not fall to despair this darkest day
Whatever comes our way
Whatever paths we follow
I will share your pain
Your laughter and your sorrow
And should we prove ourselves
Lose ourselves
Nothing's gonna send us astray
Whatever comes our way
I will be there
Whatever comes our way
I will be there to share your pain
These hearts of shadow, hearts of fire
Sharing memory and mind
Our hope is strong in moments dire
Through our mysteries entwined
For a gift can be a blight
Or a kind word be a slight
In a world of fading light and disarray
Whatever comes our way
Whatever paths we follow
I will share your pain
Your laughter and your sorrow
And should we prove ourselves
Lose ourselves
Nothing's gonna send us astray
Whatever comes our way
I will be there
Whatever comes our way
I will be there to share your pain
To sing a somber song of night
Or belt a ballad bold and bright
Fate spins
To quell the urge beneath the skin
Or take the gifts and let it in
Fate spins
For a burden that is shared
Is much easier to bear
We will not fall to despair this darkest day
Whatever comes our way
Whatever paths we follow
I will share your pain
Your laughter and your sorrow
And should we prove ourselves
Lose ourselves
Nothing's gonna send us astray
Whatever comes our way
I will be there
Whatever comes our way
I will be there to share your pain - Видеоклипы
For my first Baldur's Gate 3-inspired song, I wanted to write from the POV of Tav; a kind of 'overture' for what, to me, were some of the main themes in the game - similar to what 'Fallen Leaves' was for Elden Ring.
Some of the most inspiring themes in BG3 were bonding over shared trauma, friends helping eachother through difficult times and the sense of community that hardships can sometimes create.
I realized early on in this project that an 'Ascension' style piece with small, quick verses about every character wasn't going to work for such a huge, deep cast and that multiple songs about my favorites would be a more effective approach. So there will be other songs coming too that focus more in depth on certain characters - starting with Karlach, whose song will be out soon :)
P.s. Yes I saw the typo lol
Enjoy!
Gav
As always great masterpiece that I will listen for hours! ❤
I'm so happy this is the "first" BG3 song, which means (I hope) there will be more
Adding such elements from your previous song is one of the details I have always loved about your music Gav! That and how you make each song sound like heaven❤
🤘@@ArirukaChika
Cannot wait for the Dark Urge's theme!
Looks like music's back on the menu boys!
And girls. 😉😁
You better get your fill for tomorrow we dine in hell!
@@Dawnlight-vt5es(its a reference to LoTR)...but now I wonder, are there girl orcs? Lol
@@mrlucius57if I remember correctly, yes, but a human wouldn't be able to tell the difference
😂
Baldur's Gate 2 was my introduction to Baldur's Gate and DnD as a whole. My dad passed it down to me. We were so excited for Baldur's Gate 3, but only one of us got to play it. My first character was a dwarf barbarian in honor of him. I'm so proud that people have loved this series as much as both of us have!
I'm sure your father would be very proud of you.
@@Spiffy-sd5ix I can guarantee that he was.
This is one of the most bittersweet comments I have ever read.
I'm just confused. How do you 'take pride' in something that other people feel that has nothing to do with you? Did you help make the game, because then you have some responsibility for how much people love it, but otherwise... I have to conclude that whatever you feel isn't 'pride.' Maybe you feel comradery or a relief that there are like-minded folks? I dunno, I don't live in your head; I just know that what you've described isn't pride.
@@boobah5643 I'm just happy that people enjoy the things that I do.
I just love how it switches back and forth between gentle travel ballad and kickass metal choir.
Accurate rendition of what it feels to date Karlach.
Honestly. That’s my favorite kind of music. Too gentle is too boring, and endlessly heavy metal gets tiresome. But cycling between them just makes for good ass music.
Choir? Don't you mean chorus? Because there's no choir in this song 🧐.
"To quell the Urge beneath the skin,
Or take the gifts and let it in..."
FUCKING BRILLIANT LINES!!!!!!!
Man, Im following your work in more, or less 10 years for now, and you NEVER dissapoint! This one, without a doubt is another masterpiece!
Okay I’ll just take the moment now to thank you for your wonderful work you put up over the years. Listening your music since Level 1 came out.
same here
Thanks for sticking around :)
ME tooo! Gav Rocks
You made it pretty easy Gav by making the most unique, quality music on the planet :)
Level 1 follower right here.
The part that hits hardest about this song is that it doesn’t just apply to Tav or BG3
It applies to all the good TTRPG groups.
I’ve had a couple groups I meshed well with.
I think of some of the adventures I’ve shared with them and I…well, I get a little choked up
Same here, man.
I keep getting flashes of some of the fondest adventures and moments i've had with my group, but instead of choked up.. i'm straight up bawling
Those adventures around a table with friends where you spend 4 Hours checking individual doors, and spending at least two of those hours trying to kick down a single door that we were all convinced was the entrance to some secret lair because the Barbarian and Rogue kept rolling low. Wouldn't trade those hours for anything.
I'm still convinced the DM made that door the secret elevator to the Vampire's lab out of pity.
@@theholymailman5645 you are a stronger man than I
I miss having people to play with, it's been a while
Yes the memories you make at the table never really go away. It is a gift that keeps on giving.
Tav is everyone's therapist and best friend (so long as you don't play him as an ass), so this is an utterly amazing theme for him. And the song is just great all around on a technical level too.
Man, I've been listening long enough to watch your lyrical style shift away from being inextricable from the inspiration source material toward being more accessible to people unfamiliar with the source while still rewarding familiarity with clever references, like the Take It Back edit. And god DAMN! this is some of your most incredible work on that front, and an absolute banger musically, too!
It's my favorite way to write :)
Well said!
That's always been something I enjoy in nerdcore but I've always had a hard time putting that sentiment into words
Another masterpiece
Could it not be?
@@THEO00900 Fair point...
On my way to a congress rn, this will propably play for the next five hours I'll be trapped in this train. "I will share your pain, your laughter and your sorrow" immediately made me think of Shadowheart, Karlach and Astarion (in this order) and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the chorus just has this great feeling of togetherness and kindness. Immediately one of my new favourite songs by you, Gav!
Gavin is just physically incapable of delivering anything less than a masterpiece. You trully are the finest amongst our bards, friend. Thank you
Me and my friends wrapped up a three year D&D the same day you released this track. A song about the shared emotions and unity that a party can share is just too perfect.
Once again you've knocked it out of the park Gavin, well done!
It’s fate.
I'm... I'm in tears. I've not been so moved by a song in recent memory. Thank you, Gav.
Glad it moved you :)
@@miracleofsound Thank you for making it! It's become our anthem in our relationship. (Canis is my husband!)
I know I'm typing this is 2024 but this has been one of the best songs I've heard for the past year and the fact that the lyrics work so well with pretty much epic tale of heroes just makes it that much better, defiantly adding this to my playlist 10/10
"So there will be other songs coming too"
This is what i wanted to hear for sure! Your songs are always hits me right in my heart so i knew that this day will come. First of many gorgeous Baldurs' Gate III songs is right here!
We wanted our real RPG, and now we got it. :D
will wait for a sale as it does not have a physical on PS5
I wasn't expecting the song so early in the morning but damn am I ever glad for it. Thank you Gav for all your hard work it's a beautiful song
My father used to play BG2 back when I was a kid- that's how I got into BG and DND.
Seeing this here, after so many years..
I can't help hut tear up. The song is very emotional and epic.
I just want to say i'm glad that i found your music and YTchannel in 2013. Your songs kept me from falling into despair, sadness, agonizing since then. Especially when i learned English more well.
And it happened to be such a positive tearfall experience to hear your voice after notification opened. I'll be waiting (patiently, yep) next marvelously-crafted songs from you.
God bless you!
Hey Sibling. Are you doing better? I hope you are.
Same
Having spent the last decade of my life obsessed with tabletop rpg's, dnd in particular, this song doesn't just capture what makes Bg3 so great, but playing rpg's with your friends in general. Even for the ever brilliant Gav, this is a banger. 11/10
One thing I love about Miracle of Sound is that he captures the spirit of the games so well that even for games I haven’t played, I can listen to his music and get a sense of the journey. And sometimes it can really help me decide just how much I want to travel these roads myself!
I've been following you since your "Commander Shepard" days, Gav, and I can say this is my favorite song.
It is a great bit of positivity in a hard time in my life, so thank you, truely.
Ah, another fantastic song about Baldur’s Gate 3 ! Glad to see we all share the obsession !
One thing about the video that I love so much is recognizing your Tav from the screenshots you posted on twitter and getting glimpses to some choices you made (yay for loving Shadowheart
Dear Gav I wanna say thank you for your music and words you share with us. It's give me strength to live my life every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤
❤
Been waiting for this one. Amazing job. Going to have this tune on repeat for a good long while.
What I love most about your work is that it doesn't just rely on video game music to garner interest. It's always been good music, as well.
You definitely did roll a Nat 20 on your Performance Check, Gav. Well done ❤.
i love how he makes characters in games look like him, it makes sense, but i like to imagine hes this multiversal traveler completing different epics, then making songs about them
First off, I don't appreciate how much this song makes me want to play the game again. Secondly, I'll be listening to this for hours on loop. I don't know how, but you can just feel the emotion through the lyrics
I have been utterly entranced by this game, and I cannot express how excited I was to see this come up in my recommended!
Once again you've managed to capture the excitement of the game, Amazing work!
Plenty to look forward to!
I can't stop grinning at the magnificence of this. I heard it earlier on Spotify but love seeing the video.
It's such an amazing, song as always, for the best game in probably forever. I've put in over like 250 hours and still not slowing down. I imagine this song will be the same for a while
Yay, my favorite game of 2023! the song is beautiful and fitting. Now excuse me while I listen to it on repeat for the next days, xD
Song is incredible as expected. You never miss Gavin.
Always love watching the videos because they’re so masterfully edited.
Thank you for this song, Gav. I'm having a really rough time and this song gives me somehow so much hope and sense of the future still existing and being worth it.
BABE WAKE UP NEW MIRACLE OF SOUND MUSIC JUST DROPPED 🎉❤ Thank you Gavin for all your hard work!
One of the things I really adore about Miracle of Sound's music is how universal these songs can apply to many other games or scenarios as well. This song can straight up be repackaged as a Final Fantasy 14 song and no one would bat an eye, and while I havn't played Baldur's Gate 3 (yet) I'm sure there's subtle references (I got the shadowheart one :P) specific to the game strewn about as well that people who have played can pick up on and if you don't pick up on them, then the song STILL works. Brilliant work!
From the first moment I heard about the game I hoped you will make a song
Thank you very much, been listening for six years
I don't know if I commented on one of your songs so far, but you outdid yourself with this one.
I did not know you could possibly improve upon those you already sang, but this is a masterpiece.
Been a fan ever since Level 1 and I'm thrilled every time I see something new from you. Damn fine work here, can't wait to see you delve deeper into the characters.
The fact that your latest song is, once again, outstanding should go without saying - but I'll say it anyway! That was outstanding!
EVERYTHING in this is awesome. THe music, the singing, the scenes chosen and their flow. It's wonderful !!
Super happy I listened to my curiosity all those years ago.
2010 Me: "Gordon Freeman Saved My Life"? Wonder what that's about?
I was super into Freeman's Mind and made one of the best music choices I've made in years. To think that you're still going strong is awesome. Your songs have inspired me to look into some of the best games I've played in years.
Hot damn, Gav. This is fantastic. There are a few of your songs that really speak to me beyond simply being a lot of fun, and this has shot right to the top of that list. Fantastic work, man. Just, fantastic.
Sometimes it takes me a while to warm up to a song but I instantly loved this.
this song is amazing, reminds me of All as One, which is one of my all time favouritee
Glad you noticed! I wanted it to feel a little bit 'old school' MOS 😀
@@miracleofsound Did it make you... want your RPG?
Listening All as One regularly. Absolute fantasy-heroic-party-adventure mastership@@miracleofsound
I had the same thought!
This. This is exactly what was going through my mind once I got my party well established. I love all of the companion characters and their stories and this song personifies that perfectly.
So far, of all of the dozens of Baldur's Gate 3 songs that have been released since launch, THIS has to be my ABSOLUTE favorite. You captured the essence of the game perfectly, and the orchestration is wonderful as well. The editing of the gameplay footage is sublime! Now I'm going to have this tadpole tune in my head all day.....
A masterpiece of a song for a masterpiece of a game.
Looks like Tav is going for Big Red this playthrough - Karly is such a sweet cinnamon bun she deserves all the hugs :3
Epic lyrics !!! A true masterpiece !!! The mix between the slow and fast pace tempo are just amazing !!! You truly are exceptionally talented at creating songs, you inspire ME to do the same.
Ahhhh finally! I had been wanting to listen to this ever since you uploaded it but I hadn't finished the game just yet. Omg it's perfect, the lyrics capture everything I felt on my own journey and that bridge is gorgeous! 🤎🎶
Always glad to hear more from you. This song moved me a bit because it reminds me of all the adventures my friends and I have gone on in DnD over the years. Sitting around the table, cracking jokes, fighting monsters, and occasionally giving each other a hug over the loss of a beloved character are some of the best memories I've made with a lot of good people, and this song just brings them all to the surface. Thanks, man.
The "long" time waiting for this was worth it, it's another masterpiece, im LOVING this! THANKS! I've checked every day for this song, and after hearing this multiple times.... IT. WAS. WORTH IT. Wonderful work, well done!
Finally, some good BG3 music!
My bros Jonathan Young and Colm McGuinness also made some BG3 bangers, check them out too!
@@miracleofsound oh, good news for me, thx!
I'd recommend "Make Your Move" by Aviators. It has a different tone compared to this, but I really enjoyed it. I will also second the "check out Jonathan Young and Colm Mcguiness" motion.
Been listening to your songs for 11 years (first I heard was The New Black Gold) and after all this time you still have only made masterpieces, you are a gifted musician, never stop ♥
Thanks for the kind words :)
.... Fudge me, new black gold was 11 years ago? Damn i feel old
I love that your music is always there to soothe the emotional hangover I have after playing through a game that hits on a deeper level. Thanks for that and I'm looking forward to more BG3-inspired songs!
I'm in tears. Thank you, Gav.
Thank you for this masterpiece.
It will never leave my playlist.
Thank you Gav! I've been waiting for this.
Thanks, I was looking forward to it since BG3 release!
This not only got me super psyched to play Baldur's Gate 3, but gave me a huge rush of nostalgia for my old D&D group. Life's taken us pretty far from each other in the years since, but we'll always have those memories of adventure.
That song is literally brilliant, from words to overall sound and instruments, just amazing, another astonishing work!
I need a dark urge song.
Great job as always love your content ❤
Whoof, did not expect to be up at 3:30 today, but I'm so glad I could catch this release.
A warm song to start cold winter season. Absolute banger as always, keep it up.
I've already got this playing on repeat. This is incredible and really highlights my favorite aspect of the game: shared struggles creating deep connections.
I get that "All as One"vibes which is a good thing.
Another certified banger!!! I've already listened to it several times. I hope you enjoyed your time in BG3 as much as DOS:2 ♥♥♥
Absolutely KILLER, as always. Thanks Gav! Your music is a gift to us all.
Just brilliant! Thanks a lot.
Thank you for another amazing song Gavin!! Can't wait for the next ones.
Your songs have a way of making a person feel joy even in their bleakest moments ❤
I love how the 'Most Replayed' part of the video is just... the whole thing.
Love the back and forth of gentle sounds to rock. An Absolute banger! Thanks for all the hard work
This music is stuck in my mind! Great work
What a great return to the All As One sound. Soaring, high fantasy, heart pounding, and shredding.
Amazing job as ever Gav. You've been my favourite singer-songwriter for years and it's been amazing seeing you get better and better with every Level (the lyricism in this one was especially touching: "sombre song of night, or ballad bold and bright" got me). Proud to be a Patreon supporter!
THIS AINT HEAT THIS IS A WHOLE NUKE 💥
Yessss 😍 I really love this song! I liked the game (and dnd) soo much and I was hoping you make a song for it and here it is. I really like how you teased and/or declared some of the stuff you have to go through when playing this game. You did a great job on this one (again as always).
I cant wait to hear the in depth character songs.
Really great work 🫶🫶
Another masterpiece and I'm already looking forward to more from this worlds.
Your character's songs are truly special and with this rich lore available I can't wait to see it.
This is my new favourite song! Thank you for such wonderful, evocative music!
I don't think I'll ever get tired of this song. So great, always listen to it when I start my D&D session planning
Just what I needed to make my day. Thank you Mr Dunne. Brilliant as usual.
Just like any Baldur's Gate game the best part is companions. Larian actually outdid Bioware's Bladur's Gate 2, the first people who did in over 20 years. This time the people we got around aren't just distinct, they are also deep. None of them are completely good or bad. You actually learn how to play D&D on a more profound level by watching the characters in the game. Trully inspiring stuff.
I'm always impressed how MoS always manages to put these songs and videos together to perfectly capture the emotion so well.
Another banger, i love it.
Wow...its sooo good!! Now i know what i w been listening for the whole month
Another absolute masterpiece, thank you for the wonderful songs.
Thanks gav. You never fail to impress.
This was an absolute joy to listen to, Gav! This is going to repeat for the next 50 or so weeks just like every other song you've released. 🤘
Es ist Ein Meisterwerk der Schöpfung eine Symphonie der Töne der Fantasie und Freude ein sooo geiler Song der kommt gleich in die Playlist :D
Grossartige Arbeit GAV^^
Another miracle of sound masterpiece graces my ears ❤
Absolutely beautiful song. Thank you.
Thank you for this awesome track. I'm a 68 year old who listens to all your music. The variations are incredible but each and everyone hits the spot !
Amazing work Gav, as always!
It's really cool how you find inspiration in games, but honestly, your work adds to my enjoyment of those games. I've often gained a deeper appreciation for the game after your songs highlighted themes or emotional moments that I might have missed in playing though the game in the first place. Art raising art.
Wow .. Love this song .. great musicianship and voice.
Was listening to music while shopping today, and the thing I was looking for as a treat for myself surviving the chaos of the trip was out of stock. It nearly sent me into a depressive episode, but right as that started to hit, I hear "We will not fall to despair this darkest day".
Your song single-handedly helped me stop a depressive episode before it even got started. That's the power of great music. So thank you so much!
This was on my play list while I was running for the train this morning. Quite possibly the most epic morning commute to work ever.
You never dissapoint Gav! *adds song to playlist*
I love the new song and I hope can hear miracle of sound live concert
