I did what you did in the video and theyre SPROOUTING like after 2 weeks i thought theyre dead but theyre NOT! Thank you for the tutorial its really useful!
Hi there, yes you can. But if you sow first in a small container you can germinate a bigger qty of seeds and then transplant to the final pot only ideal qty of seedlings and you can choose the best ones. Also you can better control all the conditions needed to facilitate germination in a smal container (e.g., moisture and watering, light exposure, temperature, etc.). Good question! Thanks!
It's mint, the mint plant is tenacious / hard to remove once it takes hold. I just sprinkled seeds into potting mix in a cup on my kitchen counter and they are doing fine!
nice video! what depth and width is the pot you have at the end of this video? i hear mint is an aggressive grower so should i transplant just 1 or 2 seedlings into 1 big pot?
I’ve tried and failed growing peppermint from seeds several times. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. They just seem to die after 3 weeks. They just shrivel and keel over. I have the seeds lightly covered and the container is in a south facing windowsill. They seem to sprout ok but dont ever get higher than 4 mm tall.
I’ve tried one method with peat pellets in a covered seed tray, south facing window. I’ve tried indoor soil mixed with perlite in a ceramic pot with drainage, east facing window.

Mint seems to take a long time to grow from seed.
Great example with the container for seedlings. I shall plant my mojitos tonight
I just planted some Spearmint seeds. I had no idea they were almost microscopic!
Me too
Same
I know! I was like, “I paid two dollars for this?!”
Thank you straight to the point!
Hi Tim Osman! Thanks for your comment! 🙂
@@HowtodoChannelWORLD can't we sow and grow them directly into a bigger pot.? Transplanting is just risky step at least for me
Lovely video the large mint at the end looked so healthy. Hopefully going to plant them from seedling. Only what tempretures are best to plant it in.
Hi..should I water the seeds/soil in the plastic container during the week its germinating

Hi! Beautiful video, thank you! Please tell us the potting mix? Soil ratio? Thanks!
Thank you!!
Nice!
Do I have to transplant the seedlings? Can I just grow directly in the permanent pot I want them to grow in?

How many times i should water it per day or week before germinating? And after transferring it to the bugger pot
Mashallah
Can you do it with spearmint too?
I'm trying it with spearmint, if you haven't tried yet ill tell you after if it works! (I'm pretty sure it should)
How often we need to water? I mean if I plant the seeds today,do I need to water regularly or what?
How often do you water while germinating?

the pot i think is not that big, maybe 10-15cm around?
if u put just one or two in a big pot,you will wait for a long time to get enough mint.
Do you have to fertilize ?
Need more heat if it takes a month to germinate, 70-72 degrees should be up after a week.

Are you using potting soil? Soil from the backyard has too much clay which is more dense and hard for the roots to grow in.

😊
Haw many days will take by seeds to grow.......
1 week
Should I water the seeds in plastic container during the week it germinates?
@@sweetypie2345 No
@@sweetypie2345 if the soil is dry then you should!
Oh dear I did exactly this about 6 weeks ago and nothing is sprouting. I think I failed, maybe because I used seeds from last years mint crop. 🥴
I just bought 10 seeds online, i didnt know they were so small. Its embarasing thinking how they put it in the bag 😂
It’s a receptacle not recipient
1 month🙂
Thanks 🎉
