I'm having a major issue with creating the Ogre creature in a Blender Course. I created the arms, legs, torso and head. Added subdivision and mirror modifers to all. When I click on Dyntopo, it gives me a warning message, I click ok and one of my legs disappears and the visible one is polygonized. So instead of rounded, it's back to an aysymetric polygon. I can't seem to figure this out. Pleas help. Thanks.
Thank you so much!! I watched so many tutorials and didn’t understand, but you explained it in just a matter of minuets!!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
this is great, I was using the actual mirror modifier for some reason and was going insane over it just clipping 2 objects inside of eachother.
glad it helped!
Just started using blender today, this was a great tip!
When using *Multires* remember so enable *Sculpt Base Mesh* when using *symmetrize*
This is awesome and something I really need for work I'm doing. Thank you so much Ryan for always making great content for your viewing audience and supporters!
You're the best!
WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 😃
Thanks! I get a lot of comments about this, so I thought it would be good to make a video about it. : )
@@RyanKingArt I totally agree it's similar to mirroring the symmetry for animation from one side of a character to another, which is super timesaving for maximizing workflow especially when creating walk and run cycles! 😃
Thanks so much again!
I'm sure I'll wear out the play button on this one as I reference it a lot in the future. 😂
just saved me an entire sundays work. thank you!!!
glad it helped!
Great elaborate explanation, thank you.
Glad it was helpful! thanks for watching.

Thanks so much!
thank you sooooooo much bro. You are a life saver
glad it helps! thanks for watching!
If I haven't figure out mirror modifier earlier...I would've model both sides of masks and cosplays all these years...same goes for sculpting too
Oh lol. : )
Man you save my time, thanks a lot
glad it helped!
Thank you, this was very helpful

Thx buddy for video 👏👍
You're welcome! I get a lot of comments about this, so I thought I'd make a video about it.
Omg thank you so much ❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You're welcome!
Thank you, this fixed my model after I decimated it ;0;
Glad it helped!
It is still not working, what should i do now?
Thanks!
you are welcome!
In ZBrush, everything is mirrored but the masked areas. In Blender everything gets mirrored even what you'd like to keep as it is. That sucks :/ Any way arround in sculpt mode ? Doing that in Edit mode sounds way too time consuming (I'm still using ZBrush for that specific mirroring ability).
Greatness now I get it
👍
thank you, you helped me
glad it helped!
The Symmetrize operation does the same thing the mirror and weld function does in zbrush cutting the model. Is there a way to do this without changing the vert order?
Now what if you have an asymmetrical scupt but you need to make a certain part symmetrical? Is there any way to do that?
Thanks sir
you're welcome!
thanks for help
you're welcome!
So I’m making my character, but for some reason when I try and symmetry the hands and arms together it just stays in the same place and the model looks like it shrunk itself, is there something I’m doing wrong?
Thanks for posting. It may be worth noting that symmetrize does not appear to be available when using multires.
hmm, ok, thanks for the info. 👍
how do you make two different mesh symmetrically link, I saw someone do this but couldn't find tutorials on it
How do i fix bad symmetry? My model is symmetric but in texture paint it is not paiting accurately.
Press Control A, and apply all transforms. That hopefully will fix it.
thank u
You're welcome!
Why doesn't my circle react the same as yours in sculpt mode? If I use a subdivision modifier it's really slow, and the sculpting is too smooth
I've just imported an .OBJ file from another program, but when I go to sculpt in blender and use the symmetry tool, it isn't aligned down the center of the model. Any idea how I can realign the center to work with the symmetry function?
In object mode, with the object selected, press Control A, and Apply all transforms. make sure the object is in the center of the 3d blender scene when you do this.
@@RyanKingArt Thanks a bunch! Had to ask quite a few people, but this fixed things no problem. Looking forward to watching more of your videos as I delve deeper into blender!
The problem is that symmetrize left my doll without the nose, that is, it aligned the mirror too much in the center, I don't know how to solve this 😢
Sucks compared to ZBrush. If I mask some of my object, it does a symmetry on the whole object anyway. In ZBrush I could mirror only an unmasked portion. Sucks :/
How do I change the distance between the two blue dots?
you just move your mouse farther away from the center of the object.
not working on modeling mode
You are my personal Jesus =D
No I'm not, I'm just a regular human being. But I hope you found the tutorial helpful.
Finaly thanks for your regular videos wish i could join your discord server if you have any
I don't have a Discord server, sorry.
MY symetrize button locked((
I imported an image into a file and tried everything to center the axis and this to try and fix the x mirroring but no success and the world view with pictures on the back has vanished sometime during my attempt. I managed itonce but when I did the mesh hadbroken again so I dont' know wha the fuck I've done but I am so done
I don't think you can add modifiers to reference images.
My dots are not in x axis
ok, maybe try the Z or Y axis then. or, in object mode, you can apply the objects transforms, by pressing, Control A.
When people ask what games do you play? I respond with Blender!
Haha yes!
no matter how i fkn rotate an object his gizmo rotates with it and doesnt allow to mirror it in right place
sorry your having problems.
I'll never be able to do it:(((
What's the problem?
no... you know what's really annoying? when you copy the settings exactly and it doesn't do anything lol 0:28
Oh, sorry its not working.
🙃🙃🙃
Thanks!
Ukraine want the peace 💙💛
yes.
Don't mind but Russia too want peace but they won't be able to live peacefully if nato reach to their door. But what putin is doing is totally cruel behavior.
Long live Ukraine🇺🇦
