Watched this video too many times last week debating whether to give it a go. Had never heard of mooncakes before. Ordered everything from Amazon. Soaked the lotus this morning. Drove 8 hrs today for an engagement. Got home. Made the first ‘overnight’ round. It’s resting in the fridge to be assembled tomorrow. Phew!
i’ve wanted to make mooncakes for so long but i am 100% trying this recipe - i’m really into blue right now and i love blueberry!!! so excited, thank you :)
You are a great baker, Jasma! I have watched your tutorial ever since I started watching on RUclips. You make it very easy to follow. Thank you and keep sharing your special talents. I lived in Bangkok, Thailand for 3 years and every time it's Mooncake Festival, I go to their high end hotels and they sell the best FRESH mooncake (white exterior) color. I loved the green tea and pandan flavor. I don't mind the Durian flavor. I watched your tutorial for the first time, I was so happy to watch your techniques.
You know, none of these ingredients is available in my country 🤣🤣 however I LOVE watching these videos and especially this recipe, sometimes I wonder how it would taste looking like a piece of art, but I'm sure it's so delicious as it looks! Happy festival!
The moon cake is so beautiful. Baby blue colour. You can use this technique to make any cake of your choice. Pls try and make a durian moon cake. Looking forward.😃
Thanks for the ping pi moon cake recipe. I had the blue butterfly flower at my garden just pick some fresh flower soak with hot water for a beautiful blue natural colour and I will do some with macha powder as well...cant wait to try making it with my family. Home mada healthy moon cake..wish me luck 😅❤
Its so pretty and soothing color and I love your tips & techniques especially for 1st timer for me becos so far its like very scary and confusing to bake (although technically there is none yeah!) Thanks
hi jasma! i just tried your black sesame walnut snowy mooncakes today and they turned out soooooo good! i was wondering for the blue color of this mooncake, would it be okay to use blue food coloring with the same amount of water listed in the recipe instead of dried tea?
Yes, absolutely! I like to introduce natural colouring options but regular food colouring does the trick too. I'd recommend adding it after the skin is cooked to have a better grasp of what shade of blue you're achieving since the colour looks much lighter before steaming.
@@JasmaFusionCuisine if you do try using the butterfly pea tea option you can produce 2 colours from the same batch just by adding a few drops of lemon juice. The colour will change to a pinky/purple. Applied Chemistry is so much fun in the kitchen. As a side note: Jasma, your presentation and your production values are quite professional. Congratulations on producing such excellent work. Are you looking to a professional career in media?
Thank you for your clip, Really love your mooncake playlist.! However I just notice you don't have the recipe one with Mung Bean paste Filling, do you? It's one of the most common filling i think.
Interesting combination. I'm quite curious to taste how blueberry and lotus paste goes together. I also wonder if it can be tweeked to be a vegetarian/vegan option Honestly, at the beginning i have thought it was going to be a blueberry creamcheese mooncake instead 😝.. the was a hotel's blieberry cream cheese mooncake i've tasted quite a number of years ago.
Hello Jasma, thank you so much for all the awesome idea of the snowy mooncake. I want to make some as a gift for my friend and so wondered is it good to make it so early to put it into the freezer well before my visits to my friend and the mid autumn festival of 2023?
oooh that's a good question, I've never frozen my mooncakes before I assume the texture might change a bit...maybe try it with a small batch first and see if you like the result?
I wanna recommend something... can u try making a pancake or milk bread version of these flavors? It sounds so good and such a great idea because of your inspirational fusion idea. I hope u see this. 😘😁
@Jasma Fusion Cooks Where are you, dear one? I'm hoping you're doing all right. We all miss you. Something made me look up one of your videos today and I realized I hadn't seen a video from you in ages. I hope you're simply busy, and will be back to show us more of your beautiful exquisite cooking again soon.
Hi I just found your channel as I want to learn how to make moon cakes for my upcoming wedding. I just ordered some moon cake stamp template press from Ali Express. Have you tried making a keto moon cake using almond flour as a replacement for the rice flour? What kind of milk do you use? Can I use Almond Milk or Oat Milk? What flavorless oil brand do you use?
Jasma, just recently subscribed to your channel and loved your videos and recipes. And love the way you explain. Question: instead of wheat starch, can tapioca starch be used ? Or that also give a different texture ? Here in Aruba, wheat starch is difficult to find or will have to order online. Thanks in advance !
Hi, I've got a question, and I'm sorry if you've answered this before, but would the mooncakes still be safe to eat if they were shipped and in transit over a course of like.. 2 days?
Happy mid autumn festival!! What mooncakes have you been making this year??
Please make earl grey moon cake recipe for next year!! 😆

Absolutely beautiful. Love the butterfly pea tea as natural coloring. I've seen people using it in smoothies, does it have any flavor?

Making these now! But I don't have blueberry jam, so I'm using lingonberry jam instead. They're going to look a bit 4th of July-ish, but oh well. 😅🥲

hmm I doubt it, these have to be refrigerated...perhaps try the traditional baked mooncakes!
