If you do not choose to get touch up paint, your steel fender will rust given an appropriate amount of time, especially in environments where Salt / Road deicing products are used as they will accelerate the rust process. I STRONGLY recommend spending the 20 bucks or whatever it costs to get some touch up paint.
Don't forget when you drill into your bumper and fender, MEASURE TWICE, DRILL ONCE
______________________________________________________________________________
Things You’ll Need
The Quick Release Fastener Kit
1 x 1/4” drill bit
1 x Electric drill
1 x 3/8 Socket
1 x 5/32” Allen
Some Masking Tape
Necessary Tools to Remove Inner Fender
Touch up Paint
If you guys have any questions, please feel free to post in the comments below.

I drilled a hole through my tire
Probably don't work on cars then
ehh its fineee
LMAO
Your doing it wrong bro... you have to drill a hole through the engine, not the tires
Why am I laughing so hard at this 😂
i’m so late, but this was actually one of the most educational videos i’ve seen, super well explained, very clear, and from what it sounded like… you knew exactly what you were talking about. amazing.
If I put this on my Mustang, will I be more effective when ploughing through crowds?
+ndk2k4 ABSOLUTELY :)
lol
😂😂😂
I would also recommend quick release front fenders and a quick release hood to to hide the damage
I installed these on my Ex Girlfriend"s •Dairy pillows• when I use to slide my "one eyed yogurt slinger" between them !
3:17 “ it’s gonna be in this genital area “ 😂😂😂
That shit took me out 😭😭😩😂
bro 😭
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I know it's 8 years later, but still. I just bought and painted front and rear bumpers for my car, and though the fit is good, it's not factory, and I got some of these fasteners to tighten everything up, but they did not come with instructions, so this was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again!
Been thinking about these for a while, old mount points broke and I've used bolts with nuts, but removing these are a pain, so these are going to make more sense
Great video, I wasn't a fan of these, but then you mentioned the fender gap, a lightbulb went off!! Nice job!!
+Ed Cashwell Thanks Ed!!
You forgot to mention that, u MUST be careful when drilling because the bit is going to want to slip and leave a nasty scratch. So I would recommend by drilling slowly and let the drill do the work. Don’t apply too much pressure
This is a quick and easy extremely inexpensive way to solve my front and rear passenger bumpers POP off, eliminate tape and no expensive replacement, this car will be with me until it can not be repaired.
2011 ford fusion this car has been so durable, we went thru a high hilly pastor, like the Dukes of Hazzard not a scratch just those 2 spots of bumper popped off that's it.
(It was an accident, ran off road)
Nice job. Agreed with Lawrie below. Also, you might want to mention you didn't paint the plastic bumper with touch up, not a big deal but it stuck out considering you did such a great job detailing the reasoning behind the touch up paint on the metal fender.
looks like you dented the fender putting that much pressure on the drill
Carl Meaux yeah wouldn't you want to use a stepping drill technique?
Yes, I would drill it with a much smaller bit first for better accuracy. It's also a good idea to de-burr the hole so there isnt any metal shards interfering with the fitment of the washer/ bolt. Also, like Carl said... way too much pressure on the drill. When the bit fell through, he put a huge dent in his fender, which was visible for a brief shot in the video. It's a small mistake, and the actual quick release probably covered most the dent, but it can be easily avoided by just modifying the technique while drilling.
@@RAF92Warhawk lmao who gives a fuck its a crappy focus
Ok but how is the video quality this good and the presentation being an 8 year old video
Omg yes, I didn't know this existed. I have a gaping bumper and this is perfect!
Hoa Pham This will fix it 100%. Make sure you stretch the second fastener far enough so you have a tight fit and it brings your bumper up
First of all, great vid m8. Was looking to see what these look like on different cars. They look good on the Focus.
Secondly... and I hate to sound all critical... But you shouldn't apply that much pressure when you're drilling paint work, more specifically metal work. You can even see in the video that the panel was flexing, and left a dent after the drilling. There is no reason to do that. Just let the drill bit do its work, without excessively forcing it into the metal.
Pressure applied should be dictated by the strength and hardness of the material. For the most part (on bodywork at least) a lower pressure should be applied. I see people forcing drills into material all the time, achieving nothing other than making the drill bits slip in the chuck, doing damage to the material or drill and making everything overly hot.
Also, just an idea, drill a smaller pilot hole first to reduce the potential for slippage and denting of the metal.
lmao i realized this the first time when i saw that drill slam tge fender i was like oh yeah you got it good and later on i seen the dent 😂
+S. Lawrie
and debur the hole with a duburring bit or larger size drill bit once the hole is done.
Thanks for adding that information. I was thinking the same thing but you articulated it very well. +1
I recommend to use a smaller drill bit to begin with
Outch! Huhuhu i need to drill my flawless panel to fix the bumper huhuhu
🥲🥲🥲
Does this give me + 43 hp?
45*
Depending on the car n/a 25 whp and with forced induction it’s good for 50+
the fact that you did this just for looks gives me a migraine
Seth Schneider for real Hahahaha I’m over here learning how to put these on to keep my fucking civic together 🤣🤣
I’m doing this to my e46 because the bumper is sagging and it’s slammed
You've never been to Japan and seen Japanese car culture have you?
@@kanyewestlegoguy7443 😂😂😂 me to
Well if he ever did wreck the front of his car he wouldn't have to worry about the bumper falling off in the process.. 😅
Wow you explsin things plainly to the point. Thanks
Nice video. Good quality, very understandable, and to the point. Helped me out a lot!
***** Glad to hear :)
Great install video. 👍🏻 Personally I like the clean appearance of Quik-Latch fasteners, but this is a great install vid none the less. Very detailed & well presented. Just subbed! 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent video. I've been searching for a diy on this very subject. Thank you.
Bro best video on this install I watched it and added 2 on each side and I’m so damn hyped thanks a bunch! It’s first time ever modifying anything and I’m a very feminine girl I didn’t even break a nail!
Thanks! Going to install on my car right now. There was no instructions.
The process was simple. Just measure accurately and make a template before you drill in place! Quick releases make a nice touch on a vehicle!
what do you use the 3/8 socket for?
You should mount them to where the band / ring is a figure 8
Not really you can do that after with the O ring
My first thought: this is extra af you don’t need it
After watching this vid: I would give it a try
Can I use wd40 anti rust. To stop from rusting
Thanks so much for this vid. Helped me install my bumper back on that's snapped all its plastic clips due to the steep parking garage I use for work.
this focus is no longer alive.
a friend of mine purchased it, and it was unfortunately wrapped around a pole. i own that front bumper though and the grille.
Noice
love the hellas
wait did you just install that for looks cuz I didn't see you actually "quick release" your bumper?
If your bumper is hanging a little and ya need to bring it up, would it be better off to start on the bottom and then pull it up
Straight to the point.
- thanks dad
Man, you don't push the drill through. I've always entertained the good 'ole christmas tree bit especially for the metal fender, the plastic bumper doesn't matter as much.
Very good video. Straight to the point, easy, and thorough!! Good job 👍
Surprised this guy still posting videos since whiplash casting.
Saw your video & ordered immediately
Do you think this would be strong enough to to hold the bumper to the fender without any other things supporting the bumper?
Help! u know if I can use this on my bumper to hold it, if the clips or tabs are broken
Yes
Thank you! Someone backed into my mum van so the bumper flaps in the wind. I saw these on someones slammed r32, thought I can be cool again so added them to my sad looking bumper 😂 son still reckons im not cool tho haha
Ayyyyyy You've got a Focus too!?
+Gingium Worked on a buddy's ride lol He sold this focus and bought an SVT Focus instead
+Gingium haha first thing i thought. wonder if the friend is a part of any focus groups on facebook.
Yeah I think he is :)
that's awesome! maybe I'll run into him sometime. Maybe on Focus Fanatics!
+Gingium Damn it Gingium why are you everywhere xD
it hurt me a Lil to watch him just drill his fender like that
Yes I agree. He should have started with a smaller drill bit first and took his time. The final size should have been even slower to allow the metal to acclimate to the heat and pressure of the bit.
It's a focus... Lol
Who cares.
Cool video, you did a good job I may want to get these for my Eclipse when I drop it on coilovers
Look people that’s for when your clips that hold the bumper breaks off or you have a title bad fitment on your bumper and fender so you put it to pull it up and reduce that gap
tell dad he's got good taste in the quality of tools.😉
Just got a 2013 Nissan altima 3.5sv..... Happy as shit
its ehsan altima now
Thanks-great video great speaking voice. I've been trying to figure out what to do with my 02VW jetta front left bumper now I know how. 👍😊
It's so funny to see these range from $3 to $65.... I picked up my set for $4.99 shipped of eBay. I can't imagine the suckers who spend $65 for these things lol
Same people that spend most of their money on "real" wheels and think it makes their car better
Fujiwara Shiina u realize that wheels and price do matter due to the shape and weight right smh. Don’t pretend to know something if u don’t
@@gagepetas7748 i had 3k+ wheels, now i have rota's my rota's are lighter n stronger... Hmmmmm...???
Fujiwara Shiina lmao your car is worth what 2k tops stop it lmao my m3 e46s body kit is worth more than your whip lmao chill out
@@gagepetas7748 ok big boi, my coilovers are 2k on it's own... The car was 1500 as scrap that did not run or even have any interior in it. It goes for 7k+ anyone with a build corolla can confirm it's fcking expensive to drift them
QUESTION: My bumper is already separated somewhat from the fender. Will this item work to pull bumper closer to fender?
Thanks for your video
I do it to the something lowered or for racing. Because the only reason to do it is because the bumper gets in the way of the radiator 😊
Well done very descriptive amd straight to the point..new sub
I parted out this car like last month haha that's crazy .
Awesome I've been looking for these for a while... thank you so much!!!
Thanks for the video!!! Just ordered a set through your link!!
Hello I just ordered mine a few minutes ago thanks bro can't wait to install them my bumper keeps hanging off a little bit lol
Gerald Cox Let me know how it goes!! :)
I just put my quick release bumper fasteners on today u made it look so easy lol. It looks good but there in different spots on each side pretty close but not in same spot
It took me about 2 hours to do the entire install along with recording the footage, just for reference.
Oh OK
How does that make removing your bumper easier? Can you make a video of you demonstrating the removal of the bumper after you've FULLY set it up for quick removal? I have a car I bought a 10 piece kit for because I am certain that these are the fix to my hanging bumper. The clips and lining where you put the bumper attachment screws and plastic inserts in are all messed up. I'm going to hammer out all the dents as good as I can and then I'm gonna try to see if this is going to be a good fix by just hanging the bumper to the fender. I will also be doing a video
Gonna use this on my car to hold up my hanging bumper lol
Did it work out?
@@MNerestant83 yeah lol
Great Job. Very precise explanation. Thanks.
How does this help release the bumper at all? That just added more stuff to do to release the bumper. If that is all that's holding the bumper up that's a shitty thing to trust.
+John Meyers i think you only use the rings to hold it on
Because you wouldn't need the other bolts down the sides to hold the bumper on. Obvious.
Joan Jacobo not really. I have a slammed car and I’m going to use it so I can take off my front bumper fast so I can get over certain bumps or stuff. Also easier to jack up the car
There is literally two 10mm bolts in each fender holding the bumper in place the rest are just built in clips (at least on toyota/lexus )
Yung Wad i have 6 screws on the bottom of the bumper, 4 from the top, and 1 on each side - Lexus
If you ever get your hands on an Accord LX-S, please do a tutorial on how to install fog lights. Many LX-S owners would appreciate it! (LX-S doesn't have wiring harness)
Same, He owns a Accord coupe but idk if its a LX-S or not.
PolskieBMW I installed some fogs on my EX-L i4 but fortunately there was a wiring harness. It was pretty easy to install
How is that able to release the bumper ?
Wanting to know, if I already have a replacement bumper, and just want these on, will it be strong enough to hold? And secondly? The bumper doesn’t have to be on to install correct?
What’s the benefit in brief?
My bumper clip broke off so I'm installing this.
Same we just caught bumper lip on ground and one has fully snapped
@@ib3astzz808 I just installed it on my mx5 and it was really easy.
Same
So after you install these do you remove al the factory bumper clips around the bottom and inside the wheel well?
I'm just curious because I have a stock Subaru impreza; I'm trying to simplify my method for changing headlights because you have to remove the whole front bumper to access the housing... Horrible design...
Would you be able to use just these quick release fasteners and just ditch all the factory clips?
So next time I need to remove the bumper you just pop off the bands and you're good to go?
I'd recommend at least having the clips on top left on or at least a few if you want to live that life. At the end of the day it's all about how secure do you want your bumper to be when there's pressure on it from driving
Thank you! Great help and great video!
Very helpful video two thumbs up
The number one reason is not looks the number, it’s because when you lower your vehicle it makes it much harder to jack. So you make it quick realize to get more access to a lift point. If the fender liner is installed does that mean you have to take the fender liner off everytime ou wanna take the bumper off ?
Perfect video very thorough, I don't know why you got so many dislikes lot of haters i guess, best video I watched out of numerous of ones, good job buddy!
Will this help if my bumper clip broke? My bumper side by the fender line flaps when driving on the highway
My rear bumper fell off, do you think these quick release fasteners will be able to hold it up, atleast till I buy a new bumper
Now it's part of the library Walk family
Its also to hold the bumper after cutting the joint that stick out on the inside so the tire doesn't rub on it.
gotta say looks way better now man 👌
New invention called a pilot hole
Thanks for this. It’s what I’ve been looking for.
Could I use this for my rear bumper? I was towing and accidentally jack knifed my bumper and it stick out alittle bit. Could I use this method?
Very helpful, thank you!
Bruh a 12 year old video just saved my life
Made it so simple. Thanks!
Thanks for the video!
I have a quick question. My whole bumper fell off and I have it holding by these two black strings I bought. If I manage to buy these fasteners will it hold the whole bumper ? Please reply I need an answer before buying them guys appreciate it
Gay
+Rosmery Batista lmao
Sorry guys so do you still.need to have the rest of the screws in the bumper ? Looking for a way to permanently remove all screws and have the bumper quick release off my polo any ideas or advice ?
Easy and informative. Thank you
Hmm, I've an aftermarket body kit, i can really use this as now I have to remove my CAI and battery to get to two very hard to get to bolts, but I dunno how this would go with fiberglass... if it would just crack it or not.....
This was a really good video
So you don’t need to put any fasteners in? My Honda has the clips and fender screws so I’m guessing just clip it in and out the screws back in.
YOU USE A DRILL BIT FOR METAL RIGHT?
So how do I keep the O-rings from getting destroyed by nature?
+n8rad3 you don't. You'll just have to replace the bands every so often
Save the rubber for track days for quick release. Use a high quality zip tie if you DD you car. Don't cheap out!
Fred San Juan Zip ties are about as cheap as you can get lol
n8rad3 true, but there is a clear difference between cheap zipties and not cheap zipties! Cheap means you will be driving over your bumper after a good bump in the road. 😂
BWAHAHAHA TRACK DAYS??? you mean mall parking lots...
Using something like quik-latches work much better and is much cleaner
I did my doors. All 4!!
I bought some of these and I installed them like you said but when I do the screw takes some of the dried touch up paint that's in the hole of the exposed metal off , is that normal for installation or am I doing something wrong ?
I gotta do it cus the clips on my bumper broke so they coming off, hope it looks badass 😭
Would this also work for a fibreglass bodykit? Not sure if the pressure would destroy it?
Do they help with the gap between the headlight housing and the bumper?
Does this work if your bumper is like dragging on the floor after a car accident and don't have the money for repairs?
Question i think my bumper might be missing some clippings correct me if am wrong but it may be the reason why my tire seems so close to the bumper and when i turn mid left my right tire touches the fender a lil can this help me with raising my bumper a lil so i can have a lil more tire room ?
Will this actually help hold up and close bunoer gaps?
Can i remove the bolt and nut that connects the bumper to the fender after i installed this?
Well done that is 7.11 minutes ill never get back
