Hello, Hello ❤ wowza, Moving guitar solo! We listened to this every day after school My brother always raved about Gilmore and the guitar solo. And I love it too. We were numb alright 🎉 He passed away. This is what he played on his guitar. Back then ❤
An absolute classic from the time of my youth. At 70 it still moves me as it did so many years ago. If I had to pick the last piece of music to hear on this earth, your listening to it right now.
that guitar solo is just insane, it says as much as the words. A lot of people love this song and don't even understand what the song is about. The best music can come from a dark place.
David Gilmour has always been my favorite rock guitarist. Every note is deep and soulful and intentional. Maybe not the fastest or most notes but definitely a master of depth and soul. Pain and suffering produce the best art, always has, always will.
I have mental health and find this song to be the only song that actually gives me absolute silence in my head for a moment. Definitely the most incredible and soothing guitar choruses
I was 15 when I heard this song, my boyfriend at the time sung it so well. I'm now 54 and he's not in the picture but it takes me back to that wonderful time in my youth.
Hi Wayne I first saw them in SF 1967 at Winterland. They were great to see. Of course shows now like theirs are all computer controlled....the background images. The only group I never got to experience was Ozzy and Metallica. Can't believe the cost of tickets now! Take care
This song goes out to my Aunt Vickie, who didnt' have an easy life but would always come home to smoke weed with me just to chill and hang out and listen to this song. I love you Vick.
So hard to compare Floyd solos to others because of their unique music. I mean hendrix was better but something about Floyd that transfers into emotion
At 14 years old. With no family. Being in love for the first time. But she was with someone else. The world was coming down on me. I hope no kid at this age ever feels like I felt then. Pink Floyd music gave me strength to go on. Fight my problems and become someone. I am 59 now with my wife and 2 kids. Still... I will never forget those days
Nor should you ever. I grew up poor after my Dad left. My alcoholic Mom did the best she could but.... you know. I held onto good music like a life raft when I was younger. About your age now, and I've avoided making the same mistakes I grew up in. Made new ones, of course, but my kids haven't had to go through anything like what I went through. Both of my sons are better than me, having grown up in an in-tact family filled with great music like this.
As a teenager I didn’t realize how good they were. But now I appreciate the talent and the sound created especially for the technology available at that time.

As a nurse in the hospital 20 years ago, when I was giving IV pain meds to a patient my age or older, I’d sometimes say, “ Do you want me to sing you a little Pink Floyd right now?” Got a genuine laugh nearly every time. (Being a more mature nurse, I probably wouldn’t say that now. But it was gratifying to get a knowing smile from a suffering patient.)
I'd ❤ love ❤ it if a nurse said that to me while sticking me with a needle.. I'm petrified of them.. but am also a former addict who seemed to have no problem sticking myself a million times. I'm 54 & usually bring someone to hold my hand when I need to get bloodwork or a needle. What a great way that would be to ease my fear.. a beautiful song from one of the best groups ever
I was a nurse for 26 yrs and I would have high fived you sister! Funny when I broke my arm at 16 got 75 mg Demerol (weighed 105). That tune soared thru my ears…
It's considered one of the greatest guitar solos ever. Good music is supposed to do exactly that. I'm probably a lot older than you but that solo still haunts me, many decades later. I can recall every note of it effortlessly.
I have so many great memories of hanging with this band for a month during the 1977 "Animals" tour in my hometown of Miami!!!!! I will never forget going to the sound check and marveling at the band's sound equipment which was well ahead of the times!!! There will never be another band like them!!
I have some great memories of David , Roger and I sitting down and writing the outro solo for this song. It's a tad different than the original , but I think it added a nice touch. Roger and I would argue about the most mundane things. Should this be note be bent a 1/4 or 1/2. Should we slide or bend into the next note. I think David was ready to give up on us until I nailed a perfect take. Then it was all year and crumpets again.
I saw em the same year. June 1977 in Cincinnati. 18 years old, just graduated H.S. Remember the giant pink pig ballon? And the people ballons? And the big round screen in back showing hallucination tripping shit? Haha!
Two years ago this song helped me deal with a horrible breakup from a 5 year long relationship. Barely any social contacts due to the pandemic, and moving back to my parents temporarily, to get away from her asap. This song had a very soothing effect on me, helping me calm down and stop crying at least for a short while. By now, I'm over it all, but it was a hard time that became bearable in part thanks to this song. But listening to it now, a part of the old, surpressed feelings come back to me. It's kind of a bittersweet experience right now.
That will heal, l believe. L couldn't listen to Division Bell for a looooong time for the same reason. Now l love listening to it again, without the associated memories.

Wait until you 're old!! I just read that it was about heroin. I was able to get numb w/out heroin and I listen to something from Pink Floyd daily, usually Wish You Were Here, but that's another story.
Pink floyd has been my all time favorite band since the very first time I heard there music. Musically speaking, the music absolutely breathtaking and beautiful but at the same time it evokes the deepest and sometimes the most hurtful emotions one trys to hide. In a way forcing you to deal with horrible pain. But ultimately this is a good thing, as hiding horrible emotions one trys to bury is even worse. I in a sense learned to deal with pain better and I grew inside from it.
Yes, there are several initiatives and proposals for building new, more advanced particle accelerators and research facilities, some of which can be considered as successors or complements to CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). A few examples include: 1. Future Circular Collider (FCC): A proposed successor to the LHC, also at CERN, with a circumference of around 100 km. 2. Compact Linear Collider (CLIC): Another proposed CERN project, aiming for higher energies and more precise collisions. 3. International Linear Collider (ILC): A proposed facility in Japan, focusing on electron-positron collisions. 4. Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC): A proposed facility in China, aiming for high-energy electron-positron collisions. 5. Fermilab's Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF): A proposed facility in the US, focusing on neutrino research. These projects aim to explore new physics beyond the Standard Model, address unanswered questions, and potentially lead to groundbreaking discoveries. Keep in mind that these initiatives are still in various stages of development, planning, or proposal, and may face scientific, technical, and funding challenges before becoming a reality.
@@nancymathews8685Maybe he meant his youth during the 90's. As an 80's child, this song plus many more 60's and 70's classics still bring joy to me. Pink Floyd music has no age limits and welcomes all! 😊

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Lyrics:
Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone home?
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
Well, I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child, I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
I have become comfortably numb
Okay
Just a little pinprick
There'll be no more
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on, it's time to go
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child, I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look, but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown, the dream is gone
I have become comfortably numb
Pink Floyd and Coni
Thanks

Hello, Hello ❤ wowza, Moving guitar solo!
We listened to this every day after school
My brother always raved about Gilmore and the guitar solo. And I love it too. We were numb alright 🎉
He passed away. This is what he played on his guitar. Back then ❤
The guitaring at the end of this is epic
Epic is the perfect word.

David Gilmour's _"Live In Pompeii"_ performance of this solo is something to hear.
An absolute classic from the time of my youth. At 70 it still moves me as it did so many years ago.
If I had to pick the last piece of music to hear on this earth, your listening to it right now.
I love you man.
65 here...still going strong!
RESPECT
Sabe for me
Are you scared to die? Have you thought about it much?
Growing up in the 70's this was normal music to listen to. Its good to see it is still popular.
80s babies heard it too.
70s were the absolute best love ed them then love them now
“Popular “ is an understatement even though I can’t think of the appropriate word for it.huge..maybe.
Heaven sent etc..
This music is of a completely different caliber compared to what is produced today.
Hey 2000's too
that guitar solo is just insane, it says as much as the words. A lot of people love this song and don't even understand what the song is about. The best music can come from a dark place.
Indeed it can, but better music comes from The Light of Truth.
The guitarist was cool
David Gilmour has always been my favorite rock guitarist. Every note is deep and soulful and intentional. Maybe not the fastest or most notes but definitely a master of depth and soul. Pain and suffering produce the best art, always has, always will.
This is an ultimate CLASSIC by this band luv it
AMAZING classic song WOW what a BEAUTY.
Time will never affect this song.
Forever a masterpiece.
Thank you Pink Floyd for such a great gift 🙏🏻
I have mental health and find this song to be the only song that actually gives me absolute silence in my head for a moment. Definitely the most incredible and soothing guitar choruses

Worst math word problem ever. Or worst meth-typing.... Your 3 years old now, but born in 1985, with a 12 year old daughter that was nursing her 3rd child with you (her dad)? Fun story.

As a nurse in the hospital 20 years ago, when I was giving IV pain meds to a patient my age or older, I’d sometimes say, “ Do you want me to sing you a little Pink Floyd right now?”
Got a genuine laugh nearly every time.
(Being a more mature nurse, I probably wouldn’t say that now. But it was gratifying to get a knowing smile from a suffering patient.)
That's Awesome!! You're a Good Soul! ✌️
Id love that
That would make my day 😊
I'd ❤ love ❤ it if a nurse said that to me while sticking me with a needle..
This now lives rent free in my head. I've loved this song since I was a kid, but that solo. Holy shit.
Wtf,really
I saw em the same year. June 1977 in Cincinnati. 18 years old, just graduated H.S. Remember the giant pink pig ballon? And the people ballons? And the big round screen in back showing hallucination tripping shit? Haha!
Lucky.🩷

Awesome at 66, it never gets old. Right now looking for someone to hold me and touch me and time is running out for me. I don't look 66, but 46.
Just turned 55 on the 26th ... still cranking this tune up -- whether home or on tour.
Hope you're good now. God bless.. I'm 4 years out of toxic relationship. I feel ya......

I started listening to Pink Floyd in mid 70s. This is one of many classics on the Wall, released 1979. I’m 73 and still rocking with them.
The guitar riff the last 4 minutes or so is still in my top five
Hello? (Hello? Hello? Hello?)
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone home?
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
I have become comfortably numb
Okay (okay, okay, okay)
Just a little pinprick
There'll be no more, ah
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
I have become comfortably numb
Thank you so much for the lyrics 💞

A few examples include:

Now every time I visit him at the cemetery I make sure I play a couple songs on my phone while I’m there. Usually crying like a baby. To many unsaid words. Now it’s to late.
It's never too late. Keep the faith!
@@ghoststarstalkactually it is. My father is dead. That’s why I go to the cemetery to visit him.
@tinalouu4795 I gathered that a d caught your drift.
Are u an atheist,
@@ghoststarstalkmy religious beliefs are not for discussion on RUclips but I am not. My dad however was.

Still one of the best song's. Ever Anything by Pink Floyd ❤❤❤💞✌✌
God I've missed you Floyd
I had the whole collection
Someone broke into my house and stole all my cd collection
Been devastated ever since
So happy now to have you back 🤗
But they didn't steal the music in your head. That's more important. Sorry about your loss.
I can admit that my life can go by with a preferably dark room and playing this kind of music without any other interruptions!
That makes you a sane person bro well said
Comfortably Numb wasn't on that album.
That's just what I did in my Victorian House in Sydney..😍😛
then you're missing the point of pink floyd brother
And a bottle or two
How in the world do you improve on one of the greatest guitar solos in music history. Genius
I always said this, Pink Floyd always brings you to another dimension Sublime and powerful!!

Most iconic album cover of all time...
My dad was 6 ft 2 and 285 lbs . When he died I was 11years old .When he died he was 118 lbs. I miss him so much. Anybody who still has a dad for me. Go hug him and tell him you love him.
The child is grown, the dream is gone. Right in the feels
I cought a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye...
My favorite Pink Floyd song. We saw them in Philadelphia PA in the 80s at the old Veteran's Stadium. Awesome light show and loved the inflatable pig!! Great memory song and my favorite band of all time!
In my opinion, it's the greatest guitar solo in history. I listen to this original version. Close my eyes and all I can see is the live version in 2016 in Pompei. That was the greatest live guitar solo I have ever seen
All the bands I grew up with had real talent, nein auto tune just brilliant music, I still remember when Kurt Cobain died and I cried for days over that terrible loss.
This song spoke to me all those years ago and it speaks to me still
They put an ad in the MIDDLE of the song
