Why Miraculous Corp Matters - Spin-Offs, Sequels and Specials

- This week we got some pretty significant news regarding Miraculous. A deal between Zag and Mediawan has been made to create a company named "Miraculous Corp". Now this might sound boring initially, but when you look into it, there's lots of promise for the franchises future, and a good look as to where it's heading. So today i thought I'd wade in and give my thoughts on it all. Enjoy.

Miraculous Corp sounds straight out of a superhero comic commenting on the dangers of Superheroism aligning with corporate interests. Truly insane how the Spiderman knock-off has fully taken that to heart in becoming as divorced from the working class origins as possible
How is Miraculous ever a Spider-Man knock off? It's literally a whole different genra of magical girls.
@@kaine8911 Primarily red color clothing, A shy introvert given powers and getting bouts of unluck again and again (How Marinette originally was before Astruc op'ed her to the ground), Traveling by swinging on building and Parkour. The broad strokes about them hit the same notes.
@@user-so6ps4pb6y Those are like super basic though, literally everything else is different, calling it a "Spider-Man knock-off" is still super stretched. Spider-Man is Science, Miraculous is Magic. Both of these franchises shouldn't even be compared in the first place, that's weird this comparison is. Everyone knows Miraculous is based on western Superheroes and Japan's magical girl trope.

Btw Astruc did send a tweet not long ago saying he’s already written the whole timeline for the shadybug and clawnoir universe, so there’s an increase of chance that there will be a spin off of that :). Also he’s written how Natalie Gabe and Emilie found the miraculous too soo likelihood we’ll see that too

As much as I don't like astruc (mainly because of his writing and his views on Chloe), I'm scared, but also intrigued to see what he has in-store for a universe he apparently said was "too expensive to make". 🙄😂
Well, as long as that fat bastard Astruc, is still affiliated with Miraculous, then I won't be. Regardless of the quality of the series. At this point, a complete series reboot would be the only thing that would save the show.
Need a Shadybug and Claw Noir spinoff. In a darker world, the dynamic switch between Adrien and Marinette, a nice Gabe who actually trying to make up for mistakes of the past, a mysterious and supposedly unbeatable villain, it's interesting. How do they interact with each other now that identities are revealed, how do they interact with their parents and peers, and how do they interact with their main universe counterparts who are still in the dark?
If we assume all Miraculous but the 3 we know of are in the Supreme's hands they could have the resistance fight against the evil holders and win the miraculous back one by one, while introducing new holders from other boxes. Could also see how other heroes outside of miraculous holders and handling the threat of the Supreme. World has potential so let’s hope the writers cook.
If the Ghost Force and Miraculous crossover does happen I hope Ladybug and Cat Noir get Ghost powers and call themselves something like Polter-Bug and Phantom Cat

Nah, their names are gonna be something awfully cringe.
Ever since the Shadybug and Claw Noir special came out I really hoped that would be the direction the show would've gone in. Have Marinette take back the Butterfly Miraculous, have Gabriel sarcrifce himself to bring his wife back, but have Marinette too scared to give the Butterfly Miraculous out to anymore in fear of having to deal with a new Hawk Moth. Then have the Supreme as the big bad for the future. Having another Hawk Moth seems really boring, especially since we've just had 2 seasons where Gabriel used different Miraculous to help himself out.
Let's say the Supreme is a version of Fu who used the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous to give himself powers to make the world a better place, but overtime lost his humanity and became a dictator. After the events of the Paris special he has no ladybug or cat Miraculous so he does the next best thing and goes for our world. However, he's too weak to go himself so he sends his goons instead to hopefully retrieve them, maybe that's how you would keep the monster of the week vibe instead of having people akumatised. Marinette having the Butterfly Miraculous would allow her to travel to that world and interact with Betterfly, Shadybug and Claw Noir, and they could frequently help each other out. It would be a good way to still have Gabriel around, and considering Marinette technically knows his identity, it could allow for some good storylines: having her confide in a good version of the man who she fought for so long. It could also allow Adrien to have some good moments with him, and have someone who actually cares for him. If you wanted to get really weird you could even have Butterfly Gabriel get with the resurrected Emilie, I'm sure that would be interesting to see how they'd do that.
The Supreme being the villain would also make sense considering there's like 18 heroes in Paris now. There's literally no way Lila is going to beat them all, especially since she'll detransform after 5 minutes. An akumatised villain would also realistically be beaten pretty quickly. Having someone extremely powerful like the Supreme would make for some interesting conflict. This is just me spitballing.

Im still not over how stupid ladbug was in that one moment were they saud goodbye. They just found out that ther evil counterparts are in fact them, so why not ask betterfly to tell them his identity? Sure, maaayby in this universe its not the sme guy, but what if he is? Its the best lead they had!

For those who know, it all remind me of another French franchise named Wakfu, with a whole studio called Ankama.
And their famous strategy called transmedias where the stories goes on various medium such as webtoon, videos games, anime...
I believe it would totally fit the miraculous world

Other Zagtoon shows have been stalled for a while, so it seemed like this is main priority. Hopefully the spinoffs have better writing.
Miraculous always have to be great. It was just the writing that sucked. Now it’s getting better infrastructure. If they improves the writing and give the characters actual development a consistency. This will be golden.
As long as they give Cat Noir focus in season 6 and start treating him and Ladybug as equals, I don’t care what Miraculous Corp does in the future!
I can’t wait to see more of the specials since they have proven to show that the writing has gotten better. Ladybug & LadyDragon’s interactions and them being together are so cute so can’t wait to see more of them. I just hope the other projects are a bit more mature like how they were going to do from the start before switching to kids
The live action movie I remember that news being around in 2017. I was happy they declined it for the animated movie. I guess since the movie didn’t do well in numbers for box office. I think that’s why they want to do live action again. Curious if they’ll still do with Lionsgate like before. However live action does scare me at times on how it doesn’t look good

@@cjgamer6356 it only released in theaters in European countries when the others only got it on Netflix. It was a dumb mistake they did but I liked it so I didnt had to wait to change it to French or European Spanish

At this point I'd love a good well thought through reboot. To fix the many problems they have been having. Mainly to fix Adrian's and Cat Noir's role in the story and as a hero and maybe make Marinet a bit more down to earth as a character.

While I'm happy for all the fans who really love this franchise, and they get more Miraculous content. However, I'm not convinced because after direction of Seasons 3 through 5. I hope Zag and his creative team do a much better job than the team who work on Miraculous Season 4 and 5.
I hope this means we'll get a darker AU. It doesn't have to include Shadybug and Claw Noir, but fand have been hoping for a darker timeline since season 1
I hope they get to reboot the show without Astruc and make Miraculous achieve its potential.

It's crazy how Miraculous Ladybug is planning spinoffs when the lore of the show like how the miraculouses were made still remains a mystery.

I don't think you know how bad this is their own show isn't even that good and miraculous is supposed to be a cinematic universe but they can two of their other shows and one is on a hiatus so not only are they bad at making a show but at managing their business

This sounds like good news for the franchise...! I hope the new lead an exclusive team bring the success this show have been deserving for a while!! Miraculous have always been a wasted potential, sincerely hoping this sentence no longer holds. (Put some light to Chat Noir too!!! My boy needs it after S5)
I think Miraculous Corp will wanna be 3rd party especially if you take into account that the reason they gave Netflix the rights to the movies was because Netflix is available in more territories than Disney+ and Disney+ is in a state where people are dropping the service like it has the plague and Disney’s profits are on a decline as well. To add to this Miraculous Season 4 as well as the New York special was recently added to Netflix back in March of this year so it’s possible that Zag will probably wanna drop its contract with Disney for a bigger Netflix contract for all of the aforementioned reasons in the future.

I'm just surprised. The writing has hit some of its worst points with season 5, but also some of it highest. I really think it needs to work out its writing if it wants to feel like a competitor or equal to Pokemon or The Avatar subsidiaries. I'm not entirely convinced that this will go over well. Just look at factory transmedia's story.
They're making works parodying super hero film from the marvel and DC universe but with miraculous being the item that gives the powers. Additionally, based on the statements by the company, they're very much into pushing the girl power narrative. Man, I'd love more reboots of things I've already seen but they need to be girls because girl power. Ghost Busters and She Hulk the show were just so great /S.
Not me wishing for a Miraculous vs. Street Fighter game with this news.
The alternate unnerves is the only spin-off I'd watch. And maybe the Lady Dragon or whatever her name is.

Yeah that’s who I’m convinced the supreme is, and the specials opening showed a lot of chaos, what if this reality is where fu failed to escape and “those monsters” got ahold of the miraculous and won the war?

Miraculous corp reminds me of the dragon room at shueisha and capsule corp Tokyo which both were created for dragon ball
I honestly don't think the franchise should die because it has a lot of potential, but something needs to be done about the main series maybe a reboot starting where the movie left off or a spin-off, something because as I see it it's a lost cause story wise for me. Not to hate on the man but I want to see someone else to take a shot at directing this show instead of Thomas.

The merch in some countries has been really poor, a lot of wasted potential. I've seen smaller anime series with best merch.
If they don’t hone in on the goldmine of Shadybug and Claw Noir’s timeline I will lose what remains of my faith in humanity lol. I do wish they gave them their own hero names because at the end of the day, it feels cheap to give have them turn good and basically become carbon copies of the main continuity, but whatever.

I am actually one of those "hot take" people who kind of want it to die. At least the current itteration. I'm kind of exhausted of always coming back to see how the series is going and just seeing it go down and down. It really feels like a bad relatioship you can never quite keep away from.
I'd love a like, revamped vesion of the show where they take the concepts and everything but with a different writer who's more willing to listen to criticism and more properly plan story and direction and all that. And I'm excited for more movies, but I just kind of want to stop putting my energy in the show atp. And even if the show itself gets REALLY good, for me the previous seasons will always feel like a big "F U" imo. -_- Idk I guess we'll see where this new venture takes us but I've been kind of worn down by this point.
