Advice for you as a Lez. To decipher between admiration and romantic interest, reflect on whether the idea of intimacy-emotional and physical-excites you or feels unnatural. True desire often lingers in the spaces where admiration alone cannot fill the longing.
Wait, so as a Cats fan, I always thought Grizabella was just old and nobody wanted her….but now…I see it. She’s a cat lady of the night, wow. And yeah I will not bring myself to watch the movie version, only the 90s version. Also as a 31 year old single 6’2 lesbian who’s near New York….happy lesbian era 🏀
Girl, “cornrows” is the equivalent term used in the US. The style holds cultural and historical significance across the African diaspora. Especially for African-Americans or Black Americans. You about to lose me.
@@MaiaFrench-tq4yv You misunderstood my comment. The host literally said ‘Americans don’t know what that is,’ which is why I mentioned that we call it by a different name and provided a bit of the history behind it. I wasn’t questioning her identity, just pointing out regional differences in language. As an American who’s fully aware of what cornrows are, I find it ridiculous for her to say that Americans don’t know. Regardless of her being half Black, that’s a generalization that doesn’t hold true. If anything, it should be an indication that maybe you and she don’t fully understand the cultural context you’re speaking on. My comment was just pointing out regional language differences, not questioning anyone’s identity
@ Yeah, she seemingly is unable to let it go and carry on with what she’s trying to say. The way she was referring to lesbians also felt a little… off, driving it home with how she was towering over this other girl. Idk. Something just felt a bit off and whether she meant it that way or not and it just had a judgemental undertone.
Love the podcast - you’re energy is great and you make me crease. Lots of people figure out their sexuality later on in life, some much later than 27 aha - I realised I was a lesbian when I was 17/18 but my older sister has realised she’s bi in her late 30s and I’ve got friends who’ve realised now at 26. It doesn’t mean you’re faking or anything like that. Might be worth reading about compulsory heterosexuality or comphet for short. Try not to overthink it and enjoy exploring. Also I’d add that you can go on dates with anyone and you might not like the person romantically. Lesbians/bi women don’t want to sleep with/date every woman they see lmao same as straight women don’t want to sleep with/date every man
