This is a prime example of why it is so magical when a true fan of an artist gets the opportunity to interview them. You can tell that Brittany didn’t just want to get to know his art, but also to get to know him. That results in such a deep and rich interview. Fantastically done Brittany.

I’ve never really listened to Hozier, but I’m a queer person with huge amounts of religious trauma and hearing him say “there was a moment where even Christ himself was an atheist.” shook me to my core let me listen to him real quick cause what a way to interpret that moment
Sameeee! I’ve grown up w the Catholic Church n due to personal hard times continue to go in search of something. But in all my years of hearing preaches I’ve neverrrr viewed Jesus questioning god as an act of defiance n doubt, I took *a lot* of comfort in hearing hozier say that, such a perceptive take!

you can easily sense the sheer admiration you have for Hozier, as a person and a musician. No constant interrupting the guest, well thought out questions, and engaging conversations..all within your allotted 30 mins. Keep it up girl!!

I mean this sincerely; this is one of the best interviews with Andrew that I’ve ever seen. You really did your homework in a deep way and I’m willing to bet that he was sorry to say goodbye because he felt seen. This entire interaction is funny and genuine. I’m super curious how he feels about being seen as a role model or symbol of what a “good man” should look like for millions of young people, and whether the pressure to be good and unproblematic ever feels oppressive to him. Such a great interview, thank you so much!

I love that conversation about the connection between American and Irish folk and bluegrass -- there's a long history of Scots-Irish migration to Appalachia and it's always warming to hear it in the art scene ❤
This was SO WELL DONE! Brittany coming into the interview immediately with a sense of humor with poking fun at herself and then poking a little fun at the “handsome squidward incident” relieved the tension early on and set the rest of the interview up for success for the rest of the video by allowing both of them to feel more comfortable opening up. And the way brittany could connect with hozier on more niche topics opens up opportunities for more intellectual conversations at some points. Seriously so so so well done!

obviously this interview is a masterpiece, but I just want to shout out the fact that the entire thing has real captions!! not auto generated ones, not ones tucked away in the CC tab, but rather fully integrated and thoughtfully produced captions... Something like that elevates a piece of media so much to me because you can tell that there's real effort here, when some major interview channels can't even be bothered to hire someone to do captions at all!

Brittany is a master of knocking people’s guard down and building instant rapport - and it’s bc she’s so funny and not afraid to make the jokes most interviewers would shy away from. You can tell Hozier sinks into this convo with the ease of a friend bc the stuffiness and pretense of most interviews is just not there at all. A masterpiece.
