She also discusses welcoming the label of "songwriter"; what she learned from writing the "Barbie" song "What Was I Made For?"; the perceived criticisms of her singing voice and the liberation she discovered after starting vocal lessons; and the power that she says comes from expressing vulnerability in her art.

As someone close to her age, I found her reflections on the challenges she faces and the lessons she’s learning incredibly relatable. She comes across as a kind-hearted and authentic person, which perfectly explains why so many people look up to her. I noticed how she had started using different techniques and kind of playing with the way she sung her own songs. It sounded like her voice wasn't just a voice anymore but an instrument. I was also convinced she would use those techniques in her new album and I was right haha.

I was 68 when I saw Billie in St. Paul, MN on March 15, 2022 - absolutely awesome - it was my first concert in over 40 years [John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Three Dog Night, Waylon Jennings!] I went alone but I treasured it and there were other people over 50 there.

The odd thing about Billie (to me) is that I've never thought of her as "articulate", or even a person with a strong vocabulary; yet, she manages to communicate complex human experiences quite eloquently and has a level of self awareness at 22 that I feel I lack at 56. She is always polite and humble. When she has a bad interviewer, I've seen her get bored... but when she has a strong interviewer (like this guy), she comes up with the coolest observations in such a plain spoken manner. "Being vulnerable is a powerful thing to be"

Anthony, this was a great interview - your skills as a journalist, and an interviewer were impressive here. I have seen interviews with Billie, but none this long or as deep. The one thing that is obvious about her is how authentic she is. There is no pretense about her.
For those of us who are in awe of musicians , singers., songwriters and creative people in general to get to experience this type of conversation with them is such a gift. So thank you for being so good at what you do and allowing us to be a bug on the wall while you're doing it.

It’s so sad that Billie will never see my comment, but I really need to say that she’s literally the only person in the whole world I would spend hours and hours listening to-everything she has to say about so many things.
My dream is just to sit in front of her and listen to her voice, her thoughts, her soul, and her mind. I would love to hear everything she has to say about literally anything.
It makes me really sad that I’ll probably never meet her or have the chance to build this kind of close friendship with her.

When she speaks of FINNEAS, myself as someone with life experience, i believe a part of her brother has been burned out from producing for everyone else and catapulting success for others but not as much for himself under his name alone. I dont say this to throw any shade whatsoever. The man is a fkn GENIUS, and no one can ever question that. I think the process of making everyone the success they have become but not having as much for yourself may have taken a temporary toll on him.
They are both insanely talented and absolutely wonderful. I love them as a duo and solo. I really want people to start recognizing him as a solo artiat as well.
Billie Eilish is one of my favorite artists. I'm happy to see she's taken on deeper role on production. I equally think it's been so wonderful to see the result of FINNEAS having a lack of inspiration for a while, a beautiful album emerged with Billie taking on a larger part. It shows growth and maturity. I also think it's great that her brother sees she's capable and has learned so much from him.
Their talents are just so remarkable.

    • @Sdween
      @Sdween Месяц назад +2

Finneas has mentioned he hasn’t aspired to be in the spotlight per say.
But I do agree with you.
I believe much of his creative juices were expelled to soar production for Billie and other artists as well, meanwhile his own name has remained somewhat in the background.
While how he feels about all of it is his personal information, we know he did release his second studio album in 2024 in addition to many other productions he has created.
I personally believe he will tour the world for this album and test the waters on how he feels to be centre of stage without his sister. There is no doubt that he is a talented producer, but also, from what I gather, a sensitive introvert type. I believe he would soar in the film scoring industry and would do well having the luxury of living a private life while creating music for the arts in film industry.
I have no doubt he will find what suits him best. He is genuinely very well adjusted for a young gentleman of his age and LA background.
