Ironic that the most iconic scene in this whole movie franchise has nothing to do with zombies
Honestly as cheesy as the first movie is at times it remains for me the best of the whole franchise. It has more memorable scenes and it tries to keep some horror aspects of the games even if it wasn't scary. The rest of the movies are trying too hard to be like the games and they fail.
Same with the games

Let's not let this little incident ruin his self esteem. Tech guys matter!

@@handlesarecringe957 That's right. Hence why the military training should teach the soldiers to keep their cool in every situation. Here, Kaplan is too frightened. Doesn't suit his profession. He's too green for such an assignment. As for the yelling, that's why it's a foolish idea to bring civilians into combat. They're a hindrance.
Alice too. She's an awesome operative, but here, without her memories, she's just a civilian panicking her head off.
This is absolutely the tech guy's fault. He's disclosing sensitive information about the devices they bring, distracting himself when he really should be completely focusing on his work. As such, he's directly at fault for his team getting chopped to bits, unless you want to blame a computer program. If he made it back, he'd have a tough time explaining himself to his superiors. The most awesome scene in the entire movie only happened because of one guy's incompetence.

@@jordanglasper1064 Use newlines to seperate sentences. Jesus that was hard to read.
@Arda I kinda have to agree with OP here. From the first time I saw this move to every time I've rewatched it since then, I had the feeling that the Red Queen was just fucking with them for shits and giggles. Throughout this movie, she is revealed to have a really sadistic streak about her. She let the hacker think he was successfully hacking her systems, but the truth is, he was nowhere near. She was 'playing' with the people trapped inside and once she killed them all, she opened the doors, but made it look like the hacker did it.
He never got close. She was playing with him and the people inside at the same time, because she's just programmed to be that sadistic and twisted. That's why the laser shifted directions halfway through and why she didn't use the grid laser thing from the start. She wanted to mess around a bit first.
Xylarxcode how can you program sadism into an AI? She’s not a human she’s a computer. And if she’s so blood thirsty then why did she kill all of the umbrella employees when the virus went airborne? She could just let them reanimate and eat each other but she put them to sleep instead.
That could be considered a small mercy of her. Zombies are mindless and won’t try to escape, but humans would, hence why she sped up the process by killing them all herself, and on top of that some would reanimate faster and eat the still living humans if she left them alone.
God, I really felt bad for the black guy. He really didn’t deserve to die. (Not implying that the others did deserve to die.) But he went out like a boss. He really tried his hardest to survive. It wasn’t very honorable how they killed him.

Sometimes, our leaders make tactical errors in the field, that costs them the lives of their own men. Nobodies perfect. We all make mistakes. How could he have known otherwise?
Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20. So it’s easy to state what went wrong in a situation, and who’s at fault. Especially when you already know what happens, because you’ve seen the movie. Lol
It’s easy for you to say, because you weren’t there in the heat of the moment. Lol
Hell. You could even say it was the hacker’s fault, for not turning off the lasers fast enough. But that’s not fair. It’s real easy to point fingers at people, and put all the blame on them.
You have to realize from their perspective. That this was their first experience with any technology like this, in their entire life. They didn’t know what to expect, and we’re unprepared for it.
I can see why you blame him for this whole ordeal. I understand. He coulda easily just walked to the end of the hallway. But the Red Queen’s security system, probably would’ve closed the door at the last second anyway. Because it’s a TRAP. So I honestly feel, that their deaths were inevitable anyways.
He got a lot of space to move back... movies..
IBCM
Oh you mean at the end, when the final blow came? 1:47 Yea I saw that too. It looked like from a certain camera angle that the laser didn’t go all the way down the hallway, which gave him space to back up to the door. But that’s probably a movie mistake, a misunderstanding, or the camera needed room to get a wide shot of the death scene.
And in an ideal world, I’m sure the laser would go all the way down the hallway to secure it. So I’d say he’s f**cked honestly.

If he backed off a little he would have survived
One of the most iconic scenes ever!!
Probably my favorite scene from this franchise.
I still have hope that the black guy will survive every time I watch this scene 😫
i know ... "RUN FOR THE DOOR" in my head everytime, he wouldve outlasted it
At least he didn't die first.
Yeah me too
Same here LOL
I Love this movie and The intro is just amazing with awesome soundtrack
After 6 years later, I brave myself to watch this scene again
Were you afraid you’d laugh yourself to death?
I remember when I first saw this in theaters I was at the edge of my seat. And the music was amazing! Thank you, Marilyn Manson!
Never understand how yelling at someone trying too focus helps them move faster.
I saw this when I was 12. I am still in therapy.
All he had to do was back all the way up against the door, I guess he didn't think of that in time.
Exactly what i was thinking
I love Colin Salmon one of my idols I hate they he had to die in the film, I expected him to last the whole film maybe sacrifice himself to fight the licker at the end
peter gresh I also wished he made it through the end or maybe sacrifice himself in the final boss fight, but him dying so early sets the right tone in the movie. No one expected him to die that early and that quickly
I enjoy how he's only known as the black guy while everyone else has an actual name lol
His name was "One"
Colin Salmon who also acted in a few of Pierce Brosnon's James Bond and a few episodes of Arrow.Good actor
Oh please only Milla has a name and afaik it’s “Milla”.
Watching this first time made me cry deep down, I was like oh his professional he can do it until the ending, My disappointment on who made the decision to kill him off, he was a positive character.
Seeing this in the theatrre was awesome. The crowd was death quiet, processing the horror... I was laughing my ass off.
Yes, yes, you are very edgy. Want a cookie?
1:40 When you think your lvl is high enough and you're ready to face the final boss.
1:43 Final boss...
AlexXuHao MEEE 😂😂😂
LETS SEE IF YOU CAN DODGE THIS 😂😂😂 You're all going to die down here "-Red Queen".
Red queen channelled her inner Trinity.
"...Dodge this."
Damn, I was really rooting for the Black cap -_- Such a boss.
"Oh don't worry they are all clone and will be back in like 3 or 4 movies from now"
The writer, probably
This scene is so good that I can't resist myself watching this again and again..
