Thumbs Up 4 The First Metal sOng!!! When I wnet tO the Concert In Mexico City, My Mommy covered her ears with her hands, The nOise was sO Hard! But then I Realized that It was The best part Of The Concert! -Wanna Keep Rocking ammh?. Yeah? sO will be Rocking 4 You!!! -------------------

Easily the nastiest bass line in rock... it truly set rock and rock off on a trajectory in the metal zone. The funny thing is if you listen to metal covers of this song, for instance Motley Crue, it sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon versus Sir Paul's soul shattering performance on The White Album.
The story behind this song goes that Paul or John, don't remember which one, but one of them read an article about The Who's Pete Townshend wanting to write the most raunchy, nasty, loud song he could. When Paul or John read this, they wanted to beat Pete to the mark, and sat down to write Helter Skelter which ended up, perfectly, on the White Album. They did beat Pete to it, as it's widely considered the very first heavy metal/hard rock song.
It took until about 1968 when this was done to have the pick-ups they needed to play this. They were playing hard rock even before that, (Roll Over Beethoven, Long Tall Sally, I'm Down,) but the amps and pick-ups sucked by today's standards. Hey, even now, even hard rock, is still 12 or 16-bar blues progression in A, E, or D. Even one of the men from the Ventures said the kids are playing what they did, the kids just have better pick-ips and gear than they did.
I dont know, they band is ok i guess, but this guy singing will never make it in the music business, no way, i know the biz and this guy has no chance at all. Can he rap?
armanelgtron Phew, for a minute there I thought you might be delusional thinking a human trait smells. Imagine if they did smell though. I would be wondering what irony smells like.
Stop saying ‘the first heavy metal song’ This came out in 68. Sabbath, the who, zeppelin were all, already doing their thing in 68. If this came out in 63. 100%. but this song is the Beatles response to what other bands were starting to do.
The first heavy metal song.
The First Heavy Metal song!

@Sambarre ,Yes ,he wanted to make a dirtier sound than "I Can See for Miles" which isn't very heavy on metal, but is a classic in it's own way.
@SaintCheerio Iron Butterfly - In A Gadda Da Vida (2ND heavy metal)where the name of the band created the term .

I like the song he wrote about the empty headed internet troll, he should have done that one.
The Beatles invented Heavy Metal! Who would have thunk it?
It took until about 1968 when this was done to have the pick-ups they needed to play this. А где же знаменитая фраза Ринго в конце песни?
chatter - proto-heavy
They're already the greatest, I mean Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da is NOT hard rock but its awesome
What is it with the Beatles and performing on rooftops?
@Jamesscearce
Totally agree! The 80's production is shit anyway....this song has to sound dirty, fucked up, out of tune.....not over-produced shit
Nice Gear I see a VOX amp a Beatles Standard.
HEY HEY HEY WAIT JUST A MINUTE......WHERE IS THE "I GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS??"
Ringo was not there !!!!!!!
What`s the street ??? Broadway???
A song about a fairground slide is brutal?
@TheAlmostGod888 For its time and sound, it's more metal.
They just destroyed nyc
Like godzilla with this performance of helter skelter!!!
He should've kept his jacket on although it was probably hot as hell that night.
he can't sing this song anymore... great pity, but so nice that he is doing this for us, even he knows he can't do it like before
I bet he's got blisters on his fingers!

A 70 years old dude still heavier than you.

Manson od tego oszalał - za ostry rock.
It wasn't hilarious back in the day when he sang it on the white album. That's for sure.
REAL men wear pink.
I dont know, they band is ok i guess, but this guy singing will never make it in the music business, no way, i know the biz and this guy has no chance at all.
Can he rap?
Do I smell like stupid?
armanelgtron That is indeed stupid you are smelling, but you're sort of use to that smell by now.
armanelgtron Maybe you need stronger deodorant.
I don't mean literally "smelling"...
armanelgtron Phew, for a minute there I thought you might be delusional thinking a human trait smells.
Imagine if they did smell though.
I would be wondering what irony smells like.
