Congratulations Katie that engagement rig ROCKS!
I think the door is beautiful. Greg and Katie, you are doing a great job. Be proud of yourselves.
From North Battleford Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦
Great job Katie staining the door 🚪
That door situation was tricky, but you did a great job. What is more, it appears you got it hanging "true". That is better than what many tradesmen accomplish.
Came here per MBF love the work y’all are doing. Roll Tide
Hang in there Katie! You look broken, hang in there. All the trials you both have had, look around, you built it, you did it. Lots of people dream about it, lots of couch experts, but you guys did it!
Good luck installing your door 🚪
Big milestone for you both, Congratulations. See C U tomorrow
House is looking awesome Greg and Katie

We had it custom cut to the opening since the other one broke, it was a dream putting it in 😄
Time for a wood stove !
Coming up!
Doing a great job! Just wanted to comment on your music taste, excellent! :):)

APPLAUSE!! APPLAUSE! Now I can stop holding my breath. The windows are in safe. So happy for you both. Such hard work. But you stuck to it, you do not complain even though I am sure you are "bone" tired.
Hey guys. Good morning. Great to see all of the progress you are making on your house. Thanks for sharing. Say, if I could share something with you. When you are filming, try having whatever light you have behind the camera so we can see your face, or whatever you are focusing on. That's all. No criticism meant, just want to better enjoy your content.

Wow guys been watching your videos the whole day yesterday Sunday 19th,finishing the last 2 this morning, video dated 18 December, what a team, awesome team work, was too late for competitions, but I don't think you deliver to Cape Town, South Africa. Just an amazing adventure, can't wait to see the next one, will it be out for Christmas. Also want to wish you a wonderful, blessed festive season. 🙌🙌🙌
Wish I could have done that years ago 😊
Make sure the end grain of the stiles are coated- it will save the door a bit longer
What a beautiful door ,both of you did a wonderful job and cant wait till the next episode. You both have a very Blessed Christmas and New Year.
you are doing great. I like watching your video. please keep it up. that is all.
Watching from France, beautiful job 👍🇫🇷
So awesome to be dried in! Big accomplishment! It will make so many things so much easier! You two need a week off at a warm Jamaican beach!
I wish!!!!
Watching from Arizona. Keep up the hard work.
Hello From Sri Lanka & Dubai
you should have use the rotor to take 1/4 of a inch off each side because it makes a nice clean cut
Excellent job getting that door oiled and installed. Door looks great. Consider turning chisel over to prevent it from digging into wood by following the grain. Also make cuts closer together. You could use hammer to knock out the thin wood easy. Thanks for sharing
Thank you
Nice job. A true craftsman will make it work....
Your door is good
If that was stain you still can put the marine varnish over it
Just apply when you know it’s going to be warmer for 2 days- all good 👍🏻
Good job you too you're very lucky to live the life you do wish I was younger love your channel take care and keep up the good work
I have never seen insulation on the outside of a house before.. so this is new for me..
We will have insulation on the inside as well!
Good Job, well done 👍
Watching from Germany Heidelberg
Nice door. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
Nice door!!
Hi I have been watching for a while, super impressed with all you guys are doing you should be very proud of all you have achieved, one small thing for the beautiful Katie. Please put the videos in order If you can i understand it is a time thing. by the way i am watching from Beeston in Nottingham England
Still in the republic- Tejas, that is!

Milwaukee,WI
👍🏾
hearing scattered news on lumber prices hiking up in US.. again.
Happy Christmas to you n your family n loved ones.. regards from Singapore, God Bless.
rocky mount va. door looks fine. contractor messed up on mine years ago. he had me go get 1bys and he cut out 2bys. have a merry christmas and happy new year. take care and be safe.
It all looks great, the door is beautiful I love the oil treatment on it ❤
Thanks. It was hard to choose from all the colors even though we have a small selection in town, but we love it too
So excited you are dried in. Been watching from the start! Your Canadian fan from chilliwack bc. 😀🇨🇦🦫
AWSOME.
Door looks great. You made it fit and sealed it up good. you 2 are getting it done. If you want to beef up that door jam add another stud beside the other. The bug screen is a tricky job but important to keep the critters out. That insulation is a different way but you say it will work. See ya next week.
It must feel great to be at this stage of the build. I love the four windows at the top of your stairs.
Great job guys! Keep going, we are proud of ya! Gregg tell your wife that my wife says, “ she has beautiful complexion “.
Awesome vid as always 👍
Love the door you build in, now it is close and Isolation is applied surely but slowly, the heater will improve in his function. Personal I would apply the Isolation at the inside first, but at the end you want to apply them both, and it is taking a lot of time.
I loved watching you guys. New Sub
All the way from Cape Town South Africa
Amazes me how each homesteader protects his / her home from moisture...let us know if you have moisture problems inside 3 are having issues but you've insulated ALOT more than them wishing you all the luck you won't have moisture problems
Ambition Strikes
Laid Back Living
&
Homestead Homemaker..
We have the same issues in the bus because of the metal, but with the woodstove in the house, we should be good 👍
Thanks 👍

AL BARR 77 GLASGOW SCOTLAND ,, have a good life together ,, I wish you both good health and happiness,, may your higher power look after you ,,, xx
great for you that you can work in a closed area in the winter, I'm so curious how everything will look like during construction. a very merry christmas and cheers to a nice time.
thanks
Very nice job!
Lookin good everyone!...thanks 4 video. be kind.
You guys are troopers, there had to have been a better way to deal with the door opening. I just personally can't think of one off hand. Kudos to you both for getting the house dried in!
Watching from Brisbane Australia love your videos, just a little bit cold for me, I like the warmer climate.
So do we lol
Pennsylvania here. Enjoy watching you guys.
Hopefully eventually I will end up in Alaska doing the same thing!
the door wood probably expanded from the moisture after you got it. that's what happened to our friends yurt door
im watching from florida. that’s a beautiful door. so glad you are finally dried in. see you on the next one
Congratulations
You only needed to just cut the nails on the stud then reinstall it in the new place then cut off the bottom plate. Now you will need to scab in another 2x4 next to the frame because your door frame is now too thin to use.
Hay guys the door looks wonderful, good job...
Wow that looked like your sister Katie!
Hey if you guys want an awesome experiment it would be cool to see some reflectix used in the wall somewhere and see how it performs compared to the rest.
Considering doing a test in the floor like that! Pink insulation vs 2 layer reflectex
@@ThisOffGridLife I doubt that by itself the reflectix would do that great but if it was used along with Fiberglas it would do great
Beautiful door stain! Excellent choice! Congratulations on the windows now for insulation😉😊👏
I have not seen exterior insulation before. Why do you do that versus fiberglass insulation between studs. What will your exterior siding finish be?
Thanks. We will also do insulation in the walls, it's just an extra layer. We will use Hardy board siding and metal
Love the door great job you two are rockin the build. ❤️❤️👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🥰🥰
Door looks fine! Dried in and ready to move on!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS 👍🎄
Sorry I wasn't able to watch earlier, but it was well worth the wait! Awesome job! The door finish looks great, insulation on the exterior is a plus. I often wonder about the flat roof, but I'm sure yall have it built better than normal! Love ya'll ❤
Ahhhh it had to feel good to get to this point. Good job now you can work inside hanging that nasty pink stuff up no matter what it's doing outside. Greg, the door looks good and you did it your way to make it fit and fit it did, so you obtained success the Off Grid way. I'm still stuck in BFE Kansas.
Love what you’re doing! A lot of work but so worth it. Keep up the good work!
might have been better off to use the saw to rip down the length of the stud on the 1 1/2" side
Please don’t forget to stain the top an bottom of the door.
2nd time is the charm :)
