A natural stone wall behind the stove would be an eye-catcher.😍
It would be great if you could talk about your vapour barrier and how particular you are with it. This is so important and your the only channel I have seen making sure it is done correctly - great work you guys.
For cutting out your outlet boxes start in the middle of the box move to the outer edge and hopp over the edge of the box then go counter clockwise the bit rotation will pull itself to the box. Takes a few times to get it but works like a charm.
I wonder if since the direction of spin affects the cut if maybe left handed people might have to work harder to get clean cuts. Most tools are designed for righties and than lefties have to learn a work around.
@@private15 nope I’m left handed lol
I’ve also found that starting on the slowest Dremel setting helps me get started w/o bit runaway - then speed up the Dremel as skills/experience progress…
For behind the wood stove I will guess 1. Ripple roof tin 2. Ceramic floor planks . I love to see that your goaties still have their youthful spring in their step. 👍👍😊
I agree 👍💯
You two work so well together. You show your happiness in your projects. And I must say this to the young lady. You are about as cute (beautiful) as it gets.
Every time I get a glimpse of the off grid house, it's shape reminds me of a shoe or boot. But whatever, as long as it turns up as a cozy place to call home You''re doing a great build and already getting the house you want. Nice work.
Great job putting your drywall up Greg and Katie
Behind a wood burning stove when it's close to a wall calls for sheet metal that's elevated off the wall so there's an air gap between it and the wall
Hello RUclips friends. Glad to see progress being made. Been watching from beginning.
You are the Smartest People I have seen Yet Putting in a Good air Cleaner in Your house so smart you never now what's gonna Happen these Day with all the chemicals in the rough People's Hands all the shelters people make and No Air System in them when it's the most important thing
I never thought I would get emotional over drywall. I'm so impressed by the both of you and watching this whole thing come together is so rewarding as a viewer, I can't even imagine how exciting this feels for the both of you.
I’m a 3rd generation 30+ year electrician & all around hardcore DIYer, hanging & finishing sheet rock is the one job I would gladly pay someone else to do. Rather be horse whipped! Looking good guys 👌🏼
For behind the stove , here we use cement dry wall to prevent over heating the wall. Hope this can help you.
Hi there great to see the blue skies and the sunshine. It’s looking good dry wall makes such a difference. Good idea air filter important. ❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Because this is maybe your first time with drywall, I suggest you do all your walls, even the one's you plan to do something different on. You might love the other thing your going to do with that section of the wall but if you don't you won't have to head out to the store for more sheetrock to cover up the opps. And it'll give you a good base to build on and one to recover on as well.
GREAT JOB!!! THAT ROCK IS GETTING DONE , THAT LID IS THE MOST FUN.. LOL. BUT YOU MAY RENT A LIFT, THEY AREA GODSEND!!... LEARNING AS YOU GO , OWNER BUILDER LIFE!
You guuuuyyysss! Ahhhhhhhhh!!! I’m so freaking excited! It’s drawing nearer and nearer to the home stretch!! Love y’all and all ya animals! Anxiously waiting for next weeks vid! Take care Katie and Greg. 🖤💖
Don't envy the taping and floating that is in store.
So impressed with you guys’ steady hands doing your drywall cuts. I always have to use a straight hard edge against my line😳 Also great to see your Seahorse Cafe barista skills are intact! Looking more like a home every week! Great job! 😎
Oh yes, I was making coffee for many years after the seahorse 🤣 our t square is bent and the store was out of them so making do with none
@@ThisOffGridLife T-Squares are only as good as its operator as they can "drift" during a cut if not properly held in place. At Habitat for Humanity, Only ONE person cuts for all the hanging so that this "variation" doesn't show up in the end, which it will if left to unskilled hands.
Your house is really looking great. The years ahead of you you'll reflect on these day's of building it together.
Hello from Germany from Kakenstorf Hans and Oci ❤❤❤👍👍👍❤❤❤it looks great
I framed in Concrete pavers for my hearth, I put ceramic tile on top of them and cut and put ceramic tile for the sides of the hearth, and, I tiled the wall behind my woodstove with the same ceramic tile.
Gday! I cant believe the difference putting the drywall up makes… coming along nicely 🤓
If you find out you don’t like the drywall on the stair wall covering with lap siding won’t be to hard at a later time.
I think you are going to be using metal, like metal roofing. And if you are check out Good Simple Living, they used metal as their backing.
Are you guys how you guys know did you get a new haircut last week I was just every time you change your hairstyle looks so much better you guys are doing a good job keep up the good work lucky he doesn't need a haircut yet but guys are doing great job and God bless you guys
I would put cement board behind the woodstove as a fire block
Fireplace wall is going to be steel . Lots of it welded together ! With an oil rubbed finish
Boy what a difference, good job guys
I'm guessing copper. It ages beautifully. Expensive, but worth it.
Katie makes the room look amazing,
Wow just a WONDERFUL VIDEO you BOTH are REALLY doing a great job ENJOY your weekend and
FEATURE WALL 👉👉 I am going to guess some old, weathered tin. With some lovely patina
Looks fabulous
Good work guys, you’re ticking along! My guess for treatment around the back of wood stove is a copper metal wall. It’s just a sheet of copper, but you could also acid etch it for a more artistic look.
It’s starting to look like a house. I just know all of you guys hard work Is going to pay off.
Love the creative on/off switch on the coffee grinder ;-)
The button broke but Greg was using it before we even lived together (5yrs!)
Looking good. Put roofing metal up on the wall behind wood stove make it look rustic.
It’s looking real good!
My guess is this is Scott from Pleasant Grove Utah since your husband is a sheet-metal worker and works on stuff for roofing walls gonna do the back wall out of some kind of metal if not I can’t wait to see thanks for sharing your life with us
Katie,You are Amazing with your knowledge and skill !
I am a sucker for goat "outro" Dang you guys are making quick work of this drywall, I swore I would hire someone to do this in my project as my past experience with drywall sucked! but now I feel I have to give it a go. Thanks for the motivation. keep up the stellar work
brick it is but last hundreds of years love your films keep them coming ken from kent england
Love your videos, I just finished to build the guest house and feel so connected tou guys, I spend 3 month in Canada every years! Love your music selection! Alohas from Maui!
The long, tedious work of drywall! Every Reno or builder I watch HATES drywall! I hope it goes fast for you two! You got so much done this week, it has to be getting more exciting the close you get to finished! Love your videos and really look forward to them each weekend!
The walls are looking, GREEEAT ! ❤
a butter knife to start the coffee grinder / that has Greg written all over it LOL
It is starting to come together nicely. Slow and. steady. Good job.😊
Think back of all the Cold cold snowy days….. when a person thinks to themselves is this really worth it or should we have someone do it for us etc. etc. etc. and now everything is all coming together beautifully and so worth the effort !! It’s really looking nice and such a beautiful location !! God bless you 🙏🙏 and stay safe !! 💃🏻💃🏻🕺🏼😝😝🤘🏼
everyone be careful Greg's got the big hammer hanging from the back of the toolbelt (the Big 20 oz) :LOL
Your house is looking good!
Your home is looking beautiful
Great progress on your home 🏠 keep up the great work Greg and Katie
I just found your channel and am so glad I did. Reminds me of my younger days of rehabbing homes, the drywall finishing was always the worst. LOL As for your wood stove backer wall...I am going to guess you'll do some type of cement rendering with texture and color. Thanks for letting me live my past days through you. The house is looking great.
Me, I'm a window girl... The more, the bigger, the BETTER !!! 😊😊😊
Very Productive Day. 👍
Try covering the box with lipstick push the sheetrock on it. Cut it from the back.
Happy for you guys 🌹🌹🌹
You two amaze me every week.
I made a double wall about 2 inches from the original wall with 3/4 inche X 3 inches virtecal supports and on this I used " J " molding back to back to slide ceramick tiles a small space at the bottom and the top to let the air circulate , on the floor I bought redy made deck ...
Wow how cool...it now looks like a house....and what a wonderful view 🥰
Great video Greg and Katie
Looking great.
I'm sure it's a great feeling to see more of the dream coming together.
Kudos to both of you for your dedication and commitment .
Can't what to see what's next.
If I was building a home I would definitely install the heating system you have.
Colourful glass bottle, behind wood stove 😀
Amazing work as usual Katie,& Greg!!💯❤️👍🏾😀👏🏾😀🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Regarding the european/uk box, we in europe have also special boxes for drywall
Pressed ceiling tin,I put that behind my wood cook stove
The ceramic tile guess was a good one but I will guess a "Shou Sugi Ban" boarded wall behind the wood stove.
Electrical outlets should end up flush with the front of the drywall.
Amazing job with the drywall👍huge progress! Your looking tired you guys. Hope staying on budget! 👍 keep it up; doing fantastic job! Be proud of your work 👍 B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
You can also cut the vapor barriers at the windows DIAGONALLY and fold the extra in and staple it to the window frame interior, cutting off the excess
Yes ...very cool...almost all walls covered and ready to work in the different areas of the house to become your home 🏡 and such a nice comfy look with the large doors and windows giving you the beautiful view of the outside nature💫💫
Great job. Like watching you two get the house done.
The house definitely looking amazing 🤩🇺🇲
That Goat is a Riot! Believe the wall might be some form of steel plate, furred offthe outer wall. Have a nice weekend, you two
Wow getting closer to closing in everything and the drywall looks so awesome for sure. GREAT JOB you two. God's blessings.
Great progress. You guys work so well together, you almost make it look fun.
most of the time its fun, the rest of the time we are arguing 😆
That's funny !
@@ThisOffGridLife Sometimes I forget that you also get to edit these videos :)
you have the house so airtight you will need the air exchanger for sure .
Movin' right along guys....well done.
WOOOW ! Your place is GORGEOUS ! ❤ ❤ ❤
It is starting to look great and bright,it makes such a great different's with chip rock, you two work so good together it's a pleasure to watch. Waiting till next week. Blessings to you both from N.B.
Hi guy looking good. I’ve done a lot of dry wall over the years . Katie are you ambidextrous , I was watching you cut the sheets with the knife and you were switching hands like it was nothing. I found that when it came to doing that I always made a mess but you made it look easy
Happy for you guys must feel so great to be getting close.
I think drywall is one of the biggest transformations, really start to see a end insight. You two are doing a great job.
It's looking good guys nice work. Yeah stay away from the dremel.
Such beautiful views out your windows. !!!
Looks great. You’re going to be moving in before you know it. 👋🏻from Pismo Beach California
Happy to see that ya'll are cutting in the drywall, it'll be a short time now until completion. 😁😉 Love ya'll ❤️
You two are doing good keep up the good work. I love your voice ❤️💕👌
Your such a great worker blessing 🌹🙏❤️
New subs here. Watching you two makes us want to start our build sooner ;). G&C
Don't forget the insurance they have some requirement for u to be insured..
Hi the inside is looking great,God Bless and take care.
Drywall looking good 👍
Drywall - NICE! Looking like a real room now. Good job. Such awesome teamwork there. Thanks for sharing
What a difference!
I used heat resistant drywall in front of the room drywall BUT the (longer)drywall screws were run through CERAMIC fence insulators. The base was 4" off the floor and tiled/ grouted
It is looking good. It transforms the rooms and makes them Brighter and more defined. well done, the teamwork is great
Looking good Katie, and Greg. I personally always measure and cut the outlets before hanging the drywall. Never cared for the roto zip much either. With both of you working full time, it has to be hard to work on your days off. You deserve some time to enjoy life. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
You are doing amazing, Love to see good people doing great things. Just look how far you've come from drawing your plans out. Stay healthy and safe.
Thanks 😁
