Just done some meter tests with a range of lights from Pixapro ( aka Godox). Including the 1200 Pro, 200, 200 dual head and remote heads, AD360ii and some studio strobes. I included some speedlites including the round head one but the results in a direct softbox modifier ( which I used) are false as they don't fill the modifier like a bare bulb. Safe to say the 1200 Pro is a monster and also not something you should look at when firing off at 1/1 lol.
Well, be glad you didn't do Product photography back in the day on 8x10 with a couple of Speedotron 105 heads and 4 4803 packs. (or more I think on one dorritos ad we had 12 packs and the photographer I was assisting way back then properly bracketed via power setting and i took a note book to keep track) That's just shy of 20,000 W/s and that was fired in my face once as I turned and said, "wait." Didn't wait. Couldn't see for 3 hours and full vision for 8 to which the doctors said You're lucky.
@@RandyLittleStudios Yikes that's a lot of light. Just back from assisting on a job myself but that was with 3200ws and 1600ws Bron packs. Can feel the het of those when to fire. Lucky you can still see for sure.
Hello, when doing your test, at which value was the v1 zoom set? If you setted ti 105 May Be the result different from real. Cause the v1 goes from 28 to 105. The h200r has not zoom (bulb insider). How Is the h200r (without modifier) in mm equivalente?
Your video is great brother! I.m giving my point of view here. Different photographers will have different needs off course. In my case I've been shooting for almost 11 years, often inside the studio and I never shot in f16, I go until maximum F11. Off course have I many powerful studio flash heads but this little V1 doing F16 in full power would make it one of the best travel flashes to carry around 3 heads and be able to reproduce anything on the go. (my opinion). Great comparison 👍
@@RandyLittleStudios hi Randy, why? It would be great to shoot cars for example using the techniques of shooting many frames and mask them all in ps But of course every product has a different purpose, in my studio we don’t use it for shoot people but big flash heads
@@MyDestinyOfficial you don't shoot cars with little tiny camera speed lights you use studio strobes. How would you ever get proper depth of field in studio with these things? Accent lights maybe? You would be better off with continuous light source and long shutter then these for anything with depth of field. Or proper studio powerpacks
@@RandyLittleStudios yes, they are not made for this. I just mean is not impossible but do agree with you on what this is for. I shoot people anyway so that’s why as a traveler kit this would be perfect for me.
Nice video. I have 2 V1 flashes and am very disappointed with their recycle time when doing an outdoor shoot. Slower than molasses. I’m considering an EC200 with the ad200 in a sling pouch. I would love a definitive answer on power loss when adding the EC200 vs V1.
Thank you so much I’ve been waiting for a comparison like this. In your experience what would be a better option for weddings, getting a V1 mounted on your camera or setting up an ad200 somewhere in the venue as a bounce flash?
Both mate you need a bounce flash and fill flash. And its very handy to have off camera but you can always use the v1 of camera for the first dance and speeches. But when outside and want to play with the sun its nice to have a big light that will work with a Softbox or something. That video coming soon.
John Bodally thank you for the advice! I have an ad400 and wanted to decide which of the two lights would compliment it best. I think I’ll be getting the V1.Greetings from Los Angeles!

Thanks for videos John, I know they take a long time to put together and it is much appreciated. Rob

As long as you are only shooting people.

lovely review! What constant light are you using for this video?
I'm so torn, I want something portable but hybrid including constant light too.
I use 2 YONGNUO YN-600 AIRS
@@BODALLY thanks!
Thank you very much you are only one i was searching for this video.
thanks
Quick question, if I use the ad200 at 1/4th power can the v1 match that output? If so would the V1 be at full power to match the ad200 1/4th setting?
lets do a video and find out :) coming soon but sounds about right
With a much faster recycle time!
Do these small round magnetic filters also work on AD300 and AD400?
Juhani Juurik no
what about power output of v1 vs ad100?
