    So you’ve gotten into camera flash, off camera flash and transmitters. Welcome to a whole new world of photography! This can be such a complex subject that it can overwhelm you. Luckily linking the Godox flashes, the Godox V1, the Godox AD200 PRO with the Xpro C is super simple.
    Getting these connected quick will allow you to spend more time learning how to use the new light you have available!
    In this video I will show you how to link your godox flashes together either alone or with the transmitter. Show you how to use your V1 to trigger your AD200, how to use your V1 off camera with the transmitter and how to use your transmitter to trigger both your AD200 and your V1 off camera.

    Omg I've had my V1, the X2T the AD200 for almost a year and this is the ONLY video that has broken down EVERY STEP to use it easily. And it's the first one I've seen that talked about ID's which was the issue with why I couldn't get mine to work. Definitely sharing this video with others to use!!

    This video just saved me a return. I just got an AD2000 pro and couldn't for the life of me figure out why my XPro wouldn't trigger it, but triggered my TT350 just fine. I was about to give up. Turns out the F7 ID was set to off but the XPro ID was set to 81. Changed the AD200 ID to 81 as well and now everything flashes perfectly. Thanks!

    • @willsimpsonphoto
      @willsimpsonphoto  Год назад

      From what I saw when I looked up the Canon, it is a speedlight not just an off camera. Both would work for outside, however the AD200 will not be able to use on top of the camera, it always will need a transmitter. If you plan on using the flash on camera, then go with the Canon EX, but if you want an off camera with modifier, go with AD200

    thank you for your tutorial, but once the V1 is set as a master and firing at the same time, how do you control it's power? i can only make it shoot or not but i cant control it's power. i can only control the external groups

    • @willsimpsonphoto
      @willsimpsonphoto  8 месяцев назад

      when the V1 is being used as a transmitter it is automatically in group A. So when you adjust the power for group A you are adjusting the V1 that is acting as master. I have a video coming out tomorrow that helps explain this.

  • @JoshiiAr
    @JoshiiAr Год назад +1

    Ive got a question regarding the v1 (in my case together with the t2x). If I'm triggering the flash using the remote trigger, does the flash has to be in ttl and the trigger sets the flash power? Im a bit confused cause I can set ttl in the trigger but the flash in manual and vise vera. Shouldn't these to be in sync regarding whether they use manual flash power or TTL?
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    • @willsimpsonphoto
      @willsimpsonphoto  Год назад +1

      Im not 100% sure using the T2x as I haven't used that particular one. But from what I understand, if your trigger is in TTL then your Flash should be as well and same with manual.

    • @JoshiiAr
      @JoshiiAr Год назад

      @@willsimpsonphoto Thank you very much! In the meantime I have realized my mistake. However, after firing the flash it had switched to the shutter release setting, I just should have gone through the whole thing cleanly - my bad!
      In the course of this, however, I noticed that the flash behaves differently in TTL, depending on whether it is on the camera or is used via the shutter release. If it is directly on the camera I can turn it as I want (to bounce), the exposure is always correct. But as soon as I have the shutter on the camera, the image is massively underexposed, leaving me more than 2 stops short of light in some cases. The whole thing is not consistent, though, so I could always set a compensation of 2 stops, for example. If I point the flash in a different direction, the deviation is different again. Of course, this makes the use of TTL somewhat "pointless", although I am dependent on TTL at events, because the lighting situations change constantly and I can not make a test shot with each person first.
      Am I simply overlooking something here, or is this a flaw in my specimen? As soon as I flash manually (whether on or off camera) the output is identical. It is only when using TTL that the exposure is not correct when flashing off camera (of course with fully manual camera settings and no flash compensation in Camera).
      Sorry for asking and thanks in advance. :)

    New to speed light photography and have a question. I am using two off camera Godox VI speedlights with the Godox Xpro trigger. I want to try out the TCM function, but don't really understand what setting to put TCM in first. Right now, it's in the Flash Icon mode. Which of the following settings do I use for the Godox VI speedlight? 200j, 360j, 600j

    • @willsimpsonphoto
      @willsimpsonphoto  Год назад +1

      Using the same flashes from the video and the XproC trigger this is how to use the TCM funciton.
      Connect your trigger to camera. Turn on both Flashes and make sure your V1 to Rx (orange display). You can set 1 flash to group A and the other flash to group b. Make sure each are in TTL mode.
      Adjust your exposure value in the auto mode for your scene. Once you have the light to your liking, push and hold the TCM button on the trigger. This will switch your mode to manual but set the power for each light to match the AUTO settings that it was on at the time of the switch.
      You can now adjust the exposure as you are in manual mode but you now will be set for the same exposure you were getting when you switched it to TCM.
      Hope this helps. I might just make a video on it, might be easier than this explanation.

    So I don’t think you mentioned this. When the V1 is mounted on my camera can I make the V1 not go off but the V1 transmits to the ad200 for that to go off. For example I’ll take one picture with just the V1 flash. I’ll then walk to the back of the room and want just the ad200 to flash. Mainly because I don’t want to take off the V1 and mount the Xpro just to use the ad200 across the room. Can it do that?

    • @willsimpsonphoto

      yes, i actually figured this out after I made this video. Totally by accident as well because I was at a shoot and my V1 on camera wasn't going off but my V1 on a stand was and I thought I was going crazy lol.
      In the menu of the V1 thats on camera, scroll down to TX. You will see two V1 icons. One with three lines in front of it, one without. When you have the one selected with the lines, the V1 will fire, along with any slave flashes it is transmitting too.
      If you turn it to the icon without the lines, the slave flashes will fire but the transmitter V1 (on camera) won't fire.

      I've never used the GODOX 685, however if it can transmit and fire other flashes, then possibly. I know the V1 has the ability, I remember learning about it when my flash wasn't firing and I thought it was broken lol.
      On the V1, there is a little icon of the flash with lines coming from it (indicating light). In the menus, there is an option to turn this "on" or "off.
      If the flash is there but not the lines, the flash will trigger your other flashes but will not trigger itself. If the lines are there, all will fire.

      If you are on TTL mode, that is essentially auto mode for the flash. The flash senses the “needed” light and decided the power. You have to turn your flashes to manual mode to adjust that.

    I need a bit of help I have an R5, XProC, and a godox ad200. No matter how much I try I can not for the life of me get the flash to work properly. It doesn’t matter if I’m in Manual, ttl, using high speed sync when I’m over 1/250th the flash will 50% of the time fire but the photo will either be completely dark or the bottom half will be exposed and then the top half completely dark. I know the trigger works because the flash button on the trigger will make the flash fire so it is syncd properly. Am I missing an option in the camera menu that I need to enable/disable? It’s been weeks now and no one can seem to help me and im starting to lose my mind over this I even rented an additional camera to see if my R5 is faulty and it just came today and is still doing the same thing my R5 is doing. If you can give me any sort of insight I would truly appreciate it!

    • @willsimpsonphoto
      @willsimpsonphoto  Год назад

      Hey Colin, sorry for the late reply. Couple of things sounds like it could be happening:
      When you're getting the "half dark/Half light" the shutter is too high and the high speed sync is not active. Double check that the Flash has High speed sync enable. It should be H(with a lighting bolt) - i think, not the three arrows. That's two different modes.
      When you are using HSS you need to use a high flash power because of the high shutter.
      To get some more info, what are you taking photos of? A subject, a room or something else? Depending on what you're trying to take a photo of, the flash might not be enough to illuminate the item. Check out this video as well, I use a headshot example and using the AD200 and V1: might help with the set up: ruclips.net/video/mi-TKXYFPIw/видео.html
