That V12 sounds so good it still has the core sound of the old 5.9 atmospheric V12
They made an amazing effort but the 5.9 still has a deeper sound I think

I love what engineers are doing with stock exhaust systems when you put it in “Sport” mode. The gurgling pops when letting off the accelerator 😍
The AMR version seems to have polished the DB11 V12, which is great, but I am more excited for the upcoming DBS Superleggera.
Superleggera was pretty underwhelming, and hard to justify the increased price over this car. Maybe if they made the interior more enticing instead of having it the same as the db11
In person these sound incredible and the backfires from a V12 are intoxicating in a classy way only Aston can achieve. I drove the DB11 V12 and the V8, the V12 just touches on a different set of emotions. It's certainly the more exotic of the two motors. Although the V8 was a great GT car, the V12s roar and feel in my eyes elevated the car into a class of its own.
Why must they use the AMR name though? Seeing the extreme AMR version of the Rapide and Vantage, calling the V12 DB11 an AMR seems like diluting the AMR name. Just a DB11 S or something will do while saving the AMR name for a future more extreme variant which will definitely come.
Perhaps the extreme version will be an AMR Pro? AMR S?
Let’s hope Tobias Moers doesn’t continue the dilution like they did with the AMG badge.

I think the new styling details majorly upgrade the looks, arguably to what the whole should have been. Really nice.
Stiffer bushes, a sway bar adjustment and 30hp increase tune with some black tint and carbon bits. That's hardly worth an AMR badge.
Honestly a lot of companies are going this route though. M division, AMG, Audi, etc. Stiffer suspension, sportier tires, seats etc.
Well as example compare a BMW 2 series to the m2... Wider, better diff, bigger brakes, wheels, full bodykit, single twin scroll turbo, five arm rear axle, additional water pump, better pistons and bearings and an assortment of electronic upgrades. That I see some value in. Mercedes are similar. Most AMG have entirely different engines to the normal range etc.
I was expecting it to be lighter as well tbh but this seems to be more of a style pack than a rework/focus of the original. I feel they need to work on weight removal for it to wear the AMR proudly.
Agreed this should of been an update not an AMR. Now all v12 db11s are AMRs?? Just ruins the brand before it even got started.
john m with M cars like the M3, most of the panels are different, the power is up by 100hp and the handling setup is properly tuned... what else could you do to a car?

Liking this AMR much more than the regular one. I am still not considering this new styling better than previous Astons, I really really hope the upcoming DBS Superleggera changes my mind! What do you think?
I totally agree, I think the DB11 styling is fine, but I was a little bit disapointed with the new vantage (especially the front) still I'm really excited for the new DBS, I hope it will be great I loved the styling of the old one (alongside with the DB9/Virage) I hope I'll love the new one too !
What can I say ? I am in love!
The problem with modern GT's is that they can't do long distances in any country. To me a GT should be able to cross Russia in comfort and style with reasonable performance. It should be able to cross shit roads and go off road to some degree, be very good in mud and show and ice. Needs a big fuel tank and descent MPG, at least 25-30. You don't want to be stranded in the middle nowhere. A roof rack would be nice and at least 1 spare full sized spare wheel. With a roof rack and a descent sized boot you can take enough stuff for one or two people. A GT should be a two seater at most or a +2 style so if you need to you can carry two more people. A must though is to be able to cruise at high speeds without working the engine too much. It also must be able to function in very hot and very cold weather and must be easy to fix on the side of the road with minimal tools.
There aren't many cars that meet this though if any. The only way to get this car is to either build one from scratch or to take an old car and do an engine swap to something better. A Volvo 360 would be pretty cool with modern running gear to get better MPG and better high speed performance. You wouldn't need much power 170HP would be enough.
Just my opinion though.

Not really, a Ford Sierra 2.8/2.9 4x4 meets my requirements. They even make an estate version which looks really nice. There are some other cars that would probably make nice GT's though. SUV's are OK but they don't cruise at high speeds very well because of the noise and they generally aren't that powerful. They also ride too high.
The camera lenses used to shoot this video are equally expensive as the car itself 😂 .

its not aggressive enough. They should have made it meaner looking or ran it as a limited edition...
Its a GT car.... How many GT cars out there are really that aggressive? Off the top of my head only the AMG GT comes to mind. The Continental, Lusso, GranTourismo arent particularly aggressive.
Remember they have to make space for the new DBS Superlaggera. That will. Be the most aggressive

Shouldn't AMR designate something that's better than the standard one? Except this is the standard one. Why isn't it just the 2018 DB11? If the Porsche GT3 was a replacement for the Carrera S, I'd be confused
I don't get it. The original DB11 didn't need more power and it certainly does not benefit from the RICE treatment. It is not a track day car and never will be. It's a GT and should look like and GT.
Most of this could have been a software update on the original...

Takamusasu Thank god. They were too loud and fake sounding for the speed they were driving at. It was ridiculous. This is one of the best engines on the market, even if it wasn’t made by AM.
Sandouras I have to agree with that. I see a DB11 on the way to work sometimes ; and at low speeds it does sound good.
Sandouras I dunno, this whilst being a vast improvement on the standard DB11s soundtrack, feels some what plastic to me at times. None the less it's good to see some of the previous blocks audio added back to this car.

Only wish it was faster. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds is the same as a Jeep TrackHawk

Scott Irons I noticed that too, but I think that is because of their use of LUTs and color correction when they edited this footage. The accents and calipers are actually lime though
It’s called “Lime Essence. “ if you see it in person you’ll see it’s lime.. I saw it on the new Vantage and it’s definitely lime.

Colour grading in the video made the lime green accents look yellow :(
I promise you they are lime green.
Of course the foliage and interior of the car looked nice with this colour grading but I don't like it when publications use too much for this reason.

1st Aston Martin's prices aren't high just look at the Rapide S or V12 Vantage they were at 185k€ for a V12 2nd they have to pay for one if not the best 4L V8 biturbo V8 handbuilt actually

Sorry but I think Aston are ripping buyer off. They brought out a faulty car in the initial DB11 and have now put some of the faults right, but rather than just incorporate the "corrections" they bring out an AMR version and charge close to £20000 more.
Appalling customer service and shows Astons small scale manufacturer mentality!
