Crochet Boho Crossbody Bag, Granny Square Bag, Festival Bag, Crochet Motif Bag, Sunburst Granny Bag

- This adorable boho cross body bag works up super fast and is a great stash buster pattern. You can use 4 colors like I did, or change to up to 8 colors for a super fun and colorful crochet bag. Leave it as a clutch or add a strap to convert it into a cross body bag for a fun variety!
The bag is worked in the row and uses very basic crochet stitches, making it great for a beginner crochet bag project. This is one of my best selling crochet bags at my vendor markets and craft fairs, selling out very quickly at each market. I sell them easily for $35-$40.
My favorite yarns to use are Hobby Lobby's Soft and Sleek line of size 4 worsted weight yarn because they have the most beautiful colors that go so well together; but really any regular worsted weight yarn will work.
Gauge IS important for this project because you will be hot gluing your bag to a premade zipper canvas bag at the end to give your bag function and structure. This eliminates the need to line your bag, so be sure to take the time to do a gauge swatch.
If you would like an ad-free printable pdf of this pattern, you can find it in my Etsy shop here: www.etsy.com/DaysCrochetNC/li...
or in my Ravelry shop here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...

Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Smart!
Thank you!
Adorable and the canvas zipper bag from HL is a game changer. ❤
Right?! I've been doing it for years. I'm too lazy to want to sew liners in everything😂
@@DaysCrochet well, I’m so thankful to know about the bag. I just tried to sew a zipper to fabric to make a liner and it ended up in the garbage. Gave it another try with fabric glue and it turned out okay. I’m in the process of making another bag and I’m going to try to sew another zipper a different way. It will be the last time. I’m going to buy the bags from now on. 😂
Where do you buy the canvas zipper bag from?
@@lyndapierce2333 Hobby Lobby. Super cheap too. Like two bucks.
@@dipi4603 thanks,I’ll get some,seems like a good idea.
Very nice❤

Perfeita! Poderia colocar legenda em português!! Agradeço muito
I don't know how 🙈 I have been trying to figure it out. As soon as I do, I will!
@@DaysCrochet vamos adorar! Seus vídeos são Maravilhosos!!! E suas vídeos aula são lindas e inspiradoras! I love your job
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍😍
How beautiful your work is. I followed the Soon channel. My question is, the thread used is cotton or acrylic
Thank you! You could use cotton or acrylic, but I'm using acrylic in the tutorial. You can see my supply list in the description below the video if you'd like to learn the exact yarn I'm using. I hope this helps! ☺️
Beautiful bag, excellent tutorial!!! My measurement is completely different than yours unfortunately 7x6 😭 but I’m going to bring it to the store hoping to find a pouch to go inside 💕
I'm sorry! The gauge is listed in the description box. I should've mentioned that it was very important to meet gauge. I apologize 😔
Not your fault! I went ahead and purchased your pattern on Etsy because I love it so much and will definitely make it again! 😁 thank you!!
@@Finedesignsolutions thank you so much❤️
Wow,love it. Please let me know whether you used acrylic yarn
The supplies are in the description box (for future reference), but yes, I used acrylic yarn. 😊
This is by far my fave place to go for crochet bags! I made 2 for my daughter and her friend for the beach and they got so many compliments and asked where they got them!! That bag was from another of your videos but this will be the one I make for me!!
Thank you so much 🥹❤️❤️❤️
Simply supurb way she teached
Thank you kindly🙏🏻❤️

This is so pretty and I can't wait to make it. However I cannot find the exact size zipper bag from where I live. Say the bag I have is around 8'' x 6'', how should I change the pattern?
If you skip to 25:38, you can see how the pattern works up. Essentially it is a large panel that you fold around the canvas bag and the detailed portion becomes the flap.
You could easily decrease the number of stitches in your foundation row if your canvas bag is not 6 inches deep, but leave the detail sts the same so your flap is the same.
If your bag is shorter than 9 inches, you would simply do fewer rows. I hope this helps!
Such a beautiful bag thanks for the tutorial where can I get the thread
I purchased the yarn shown in the video from Hobby Lobby. It's Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek. They have beautiful colors!
@@DaysCrochet can I get from Amazon
Very cute. I have a question about the glue. Do you use low temp? I was worried the glue may be too hot for acrylic.
I think it might be low temp, but I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I got the glue gun at the dollar store. I do prefer low temp simply because I burn myself less. But I honestly don't know about the one I used. I'm sorry!
@@DaysCrochet ok, thank you!

Beautiful!!! Where do you get the canvas insert?
I buy mine from Hobby Lobby, but Amazon carries them too
Ive been crocheting 8 months and was acble to follow this tutorial. I'm starting on my third bag this week. Will be selling them in a fall craft show. What price do you usually ask?
For the crossbody version, $35. I haven't tried selling it as a clutch, but if I did, probably $25 is all I could get for it here where I live. If you live where the cost of living is higher, you may could ask more. It will depend on what your customers are willing to pay. Best of luck to you!
Gorgeous bag! I’m in Australia and Hobby Lobby yarns are not available. Is the yarn you are using acrylic, cotton or wool? Thank you
It's an acrylic yarn. We call it worsted weight, but I believe it's considered aran in your country. I'm not 100% sure on that, but I feel like I've read that somewhere
I am wanting to make this using Lily Sugar’n Cream, medium 4, with 4.5mm hook. How would I go about modifying the instructions to make the clutch to be the intended size? Thank you in advance!
You can still use that particular yarn. Just try to meet the gauge I have listed in the description box below the video
Adorable. Can you wash the bag if you have used glue from a glue gun? Ive been struggling with fabric glue.
I would not personally wash it in the washing machine, but you could absolutely hand wash it. I also would lay it flat to dry, as the heat from the dryer would melt the hot glue.
@@DaysCrochet Thanks I tend to burn off my fingerprints but I might give this a go.
@@DottieGrecoAJEH you don't want to use enough glue to come through the material, so if you are using the right amount, it shouldn't burn you at all. I use very little. Just enough to keep it in place.
❤❤❤🇮🇳🇮🇳
I love your bag pattern so beautiful. I want to make for me and my daughter. But herenin the Philippines i can't find 9 by 6 inch of canvass bag. I bought 8 by 6 inches is it possible to make that cute bag?
You can! The number of rows make the bag length, so you could realistically just leave off a couple of rows. You could also try a smaller hook, but that might make it too small the other direction.
@@DaysCrochet thank you so much. I'll do that.
What size is the bead? Thanks for sharing!
It's 20 mm. For future reference, I put all the supplies in the description box below the video☺️
What happens with glued parts after wash? Does it stay?
I don't recommend washing it in the washer. Definitely wash by hand and lay flat to dry. A dryer would melt the hot glue.
Maybe a little question but can you use this with just one color as well???? If you already said this i must have missed it sorry.
I don't see why not!
Meant to ask at the beginning after you did you starting chain did you put the stitches in the back of the chain. I hope that made sense. It looked like you turned didn't go through the top were it looks like a V again, that might be confusing haha
I’m having a hard time with the gauge. I’m getting about 14 dc in 4”. The gauge says 4 dc. I’m using a 5.5 mm hook.
WHOOPS!! Thank you SO much for catching that! It is 14, not 4. I apologize for that!
@@DaysCrochet oh thank goodness 😅 I thought I was losing my mind lol 😆 thank you so much for everything you do! ♥️
@@jessicasmith389 ❤️❤️❤️
Está muy bonito pero traducir en español el tutorial
por que você quer espanhol quando está digitando em português?
I'm having a problem with the gauge. I don't know how to crochet a 0.5 row. I guess I could crochet 13 rows and then the swatch would be 4 x 8"?
Oops it just dawned on me. I measure 6.5 rows, I don't crochet them.🙄
You don't crochet a half row. What I would do is make a swatch of dc rows, about 18 dc long and keep making rows for about 8 rows. Then get your tape measure out and see how many dc = 4 inches. Then turn and measure how many rows = 4 inches. I. My case, 4 inches was met at 6.5 rows. I hope this makes sense!
@@DaysCrochet In my case, 14 dc are 4 inches BUT it takes 8 rows to make 4 inches (well, almost, it's actually 3 7/8".). If I made less rows, wouldn't that ruin the pattern? I used the exact yarn and a 5.5 hook.
@@gudrun45 technically, you had to make more rows than me to get 4 inches, so if anything, you may have to add a row or 2 at the end. But more likely than not, you will be able to stretch it just fine. I would continue with the pattern using that hook and yarn you used for your gauge swatch.
@@DaysCrochet Thanks!!!!
How long does the hot glue stay on the yarn?
I've never had it come undone
If we want to make small then how many chains shud we take
The stitch counts only matter for the flap part. As long as you keep those stitches the same, you should be able to make it bigger or smaller.
¿Por qué no se traduce al Español? 😢
can you do a video explaining more or show us better on where your putting your stitches please because i can barely see especially at the end of every row ? i love the video on how you show how to make the bag and you actually talk but i need to see exactly where you are putting your stitches. also your kinda going to fast when your showing stitches. also when you turn your work and chain 2 do you double crochet into the same stitch you ended with and added your new color??
I won't be redoing this video, unfortunately. You can slow down the video in your settings. Sorry!
I finally got it I was confused at first then on the second try I got it I appreciate you so much! Thanks for responding
@@alexispenouilh502 yay! I'm so glad you got it figured out☺️
What is the measurement?
Please, thank you
Why are you doing front stitch rows and backside stitches
I don't understand your question.
