@@subhammahana1856 i started my journey last month and something that is cool to me is actually to just use the “practice by yourself” thing on typeracer. when i’m competing online i feel nervous and although i can type faster, i sometimes look at the keyboard and/or make lots of mistakes. so my main advice is to do it on your own time, and sometimes just type slowly then increase the speed as you go. also, when i make a mistake, i like to think about the letter that i tried to type and create an image of where it is, like “no the t is more to the left, between r and y”. sometimes i also take breaks. if i feel like i’m making too many mistakes, getting frustrated or just not feeling it i do something else and then come back. wish you luck!

But honestly though, once you get to the 80WPM point, there really is usually no practical use of going beyond that. This is because when you are actually something (like an essay), you may have to spend some time thinking anyways so it doesn't really affect how quickly you finish. I guess it could help when doing something that doesn't require that much thinking.
Maybe if you are taking notes while someone is speaking, that's a place where I have found it useful to type 100WPM+, or just if you like typing as a hobby and want to improve it.

whenever I try to take this types of tests it annoys me that it's not proper sentences they make you type. I am a very good double blind typer (as in I don't look at either my screen or keyboard) which was very useful in uni when typing over notes etc. But these tests just neglect the fact that our brain is processing text in advance when we are actually typing something out practically. Like when you are writing out an email, you are thinking what you want to say (same with me writing this comment right now :p), or when you are copying lecture notes, you are reading what you are wanting to type out. I can't say how big a difference it makes on the total typing speed, but in those tests I find I often make spelling mistakes and stumble over words, because they just don't follow naturally (to my brain) on the previous words.

Please give Type Racer a go. It's much more realistic and shows your average wpm over the last ten races, which is a better indication of where you are.
I used the hunt and peck method previously and was hitting 45 wpm max. I then used Typing Club to learn the home row method and my speed dropped to 20 wpm at the beginning. Now, with over 4000 races on Type Racer, my highest average is 71 and my single best race is 88. I only made the change to home row at the beginning of November last year and I'm quite pleased with my progress thus far.
I would also add that the learning process is not linear. I find myself hitting a new pb and then slipping backwards for a few practice sessions before creating a new pb again. With this in mind, I would recommend doing an series of update videos as it really does take time to improve as opposed to a one off eight hour blast.
A further benefit of Type Racer is, with a really small subscription fee, you can download all your race information and if you're handy with Excel, you can present your progress over time in graph format. As I am also actively learning, this is content that I'd be really interested in.
All the best and good luck.
