    Great video. I am wanting to install a double DIN radio in a E-450 Goshen/Ford 15 passenger bus. This video is very helpful. I will be buying from your sponsors. I was close to buying from a company Charlottesville, VA ;) You saved me some coin too :)

    I ordered all the exact parts in your video, gave everything ready to go, but the plastic harness the radio sits on and bolts to the dash has plastic clips in the back that stick out on the sides and prevents the radio from going into the dash. Is that how your mount is?

    Nice video. I'll be doing mine soon to my RV I got yesterday. Also, My temp control cluster is not illuminated at night. You didnt mention electrical connections to it, just vacuum. Is it not illuminated from Ford??? Bad enough the cruise on the steering wheel isnt lit.

      It operates on a vacuum, but the illumination lights are separate. maybe a bad fuse

      Usually the RV trim’s radio don’t run on canbus, but the rest of the truck still has a data system. The idatalink maestro system still works.

    Thanks for the tips. Wiring harness adapters on order. I'm trying something a bit more ambitious...I'm trying to fit in an oversized display double din mount stereo into a similar RV. Some cutting of dash may be required. The unit I bought is a cheapo no-name brand that comes with few installation instructions (fingers crossed). It includes a backup camera and GPS antenna. Both of those are going to require extensions. Those were easily sourced I was just wondering if you have any tips on routing the cabling to the top of the RV for the GPS, and to the back of the RV for the backup camera. I intend to mount the camera as high as possible to provide as much view behind me as possible. It looks like your adding a bypass switch for reverse so you can leave the backup camera on. I may try that but I'm not sure. Any suggestions on routing the cabling for the backup camera? Running it through the interior of the RV looks like a real pain so I'm thinking of going down the ladder on the back, and up the frame rails. Any tips or suggestions very much appreciated. Thanks.

    I’m interested in the Aux/USB relocation kit. Did that connect to a usb off of the radio?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Год назад

      Yep, most touch screen radio's have the USB, AUX, other main connections on the rear of the radio, so this relocation flush mount places them in a more convenient location instead of dumping the USB in the glove box or hanging out the dash somewhere. They come in different variations too, like single USB, dual USB, USB and AUX (like we used), USB and HDMI, etc. It just depends on your radio connections on the rear.

      @@ProvoBeastAudio I bought a Kenwood DDX5707S and installed it in my motorhome. It has a USB adapter coming off of the back of the radio but nothing for an aux input. I am looking for something to be able to Tyanne to that cord off of the radio to make a neat finished. Look on the dash. This video was very helpful in the installation by the way.

    Thanks. I just start to install Nakachimi NA3600M on my E-250 2012. I'm not sure where I connect brake wire... Is it really necessary? Do you connect this wire ? Thanks.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 года назад

      Just depends on the manufacture of the radio. In. your case, you can simply ground it to enable all features. Sometimes android based radios you can disable the brake in the settings. Just depends on the radio.

    Excellent video, thank you. Can you please tell me more about this micro by-pass? Is this included with the harness or is this a separate wire? If it's a separate wire where exactly is it installed? I have a E-250 2014. Thanks again

    • @Florida_Man_Robb
      @Florida_Man_Robb 3 года назад +1

      THe micro bypass disables a “safety’ feature which makes it so you can only watch movies or get into the settings if the parking brake is set on the vehicle. With the bypass installed, the stereo thinks you have the parking brake on while driving so it lets you operate all of the functions.

    • @jessejames5825
      @jessejames5825 3 года назад +1

      just take the light green wire and put a round connector on it and mount it to the chassis of the stereo with an existing screw. You don't need to buy a separate wiring harness /adapter at all.

    I am trying to put a cheap head unit from Amazon on a 2015 E350-based RV. This is the best info I get so far. I wonder how you connect the rear speakers which you mentioned but did not show. Also there is another connector at the back of the original unit, which I finally figured out need a Metra 70-5520AV wiring harness, but how do I connect the wires from the new unit to this? I tried not connecting anything but the unit does not power up. Any idea? Please advise. Thanks!

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 года назад

      If you need the Metra 70-5520AV (in addition to the main wiring harness adapter used), it is because you have the factory amplified sound system, and that amplifier isn't turning on. This is meant to plug into the subwoofer output of the radio, and the blue / white wire connects to the remote turn on of the radio, or accessory. But if the radio isn't powering on, you have a different issue.

    • @randyaivaz3356
      @randyaivaz3356 3 года назад

      Need to Hook Radio Ignition and Memory to a Constant Hot, Fused. A good 2 Conductor Cable to Battery. Marine Grade works well, Usually Fine Strand, Tinned Copper, and Fused.. If parking for a while Remove fuse, or Better yet, Disconnect Battery. Memory does have a draw.

    does 2012 e series 250 regular cargo van need a smart harness? or just for RV one

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  Год назад +1

      It depends on your version E250 as the trim will vary on what harness you need. base trim without any options generally don't need them, but if you have any sort of options, you will need a smart harness. Feel free to send us a message on facebook and we can help identify what harness is needed for your install!
