    No reason to turn out the top bearing as it is not under any load.
    More easy, efficient and better to use the lower bearing as a guide to wear / damages and subsequent action.
    Best yet, inspect it without removal from the bearing cap as removal will introduce dirt, bearing may lose its spread and a small chance of bad installation.
