Thank you. Best repair video I’ve come across. Living in a 124 year old farm house with a mish-mash of dry wall and plaster walls, all in need of repair. These little fixes are the kind of small but mighty jobs that will build momentum for larger projects and make the place look less abandoned in the mean time. Edit: autocorrect fail
It makes good sense to use such a large knife on such a small area. All the extra inches of the knife help keep everything straight. Like using a straight edge. Before watching this video, I'd probably suffer with a small knife.
Thank you for sharing your talent. I really needed to know how to repair my broken areas. Will you make a video on removing stair carpet and finishing stairs? My carpet is old and I want to remove carpet and finish my stairs. Thank you.
Yes. In this video I am using a quick dry (rapid set) joint compound. But regular “all purpose” or “light weight” will work just fine. It just takes longer to dry.
If you’re working with drywall w/o texture. Would adding mesh tape or butt joint drywall tape be beneficial to place over the corner bead, over the additional nails of course?
Hi- is it possible to fix the corner of a wall and paint it in the same day? I’m moving out of my apartment and the movers hit the wall. I want to fix it and not be charged a fortune by my landlord.
Nice ,but I'm doing work like this now and where the metal meets the sheetrock Im still have somewhat of uneven surface .do I still keep adding more mixture (afraid if it's to thick it will have cracking down the road ) or is there something I'm missing or I need to do .thanks
@@israelcontracting4059 sorry what do you mean by dished? It's like the metal corner goes downward compared to the sheetrock ,so when I add the mixture it continues to have a depression ,where I cant get a even surface . By the way I'm using the pre mixed mixture ,not the type that you add water to it
We had nothing to do with the existing painting of the house. We did however correct any mistakes in the near by areas once the texture had dried and was ready to be re painted.
I think that's caulk - maybe baseboard was removed and reinstalled, or changed out after walls had already been painted. Mine looks like that for the same reason - getting ready to paint now.
@@janedavid684 I’m just busting balls..all good man.lol.thanks for the video though ..my corners are freakin terrible..looks like a heard of Buffalo rubbed against the dam wall
Thank you Jacob from Israel Contracting! You came in clutch and saved the deposit on my apartment with this.

Great video. Thank you 🙏🏽
great job i thumbed it, can i get away with joint compound over the corner bead?
Yes. In this video I am using a quick dry (rapid set) joint compound. But regular “all purpose” or “light weight” will work just fine. It just takes longer to dry.
Thanks u soooo much because this help
Great job 👍 👏
Great stuff. Thx for sharing
Tq it's helpful
Thank you so much-Shalom!
I've never purchased the mud where I have to mix. What do you do with the extra left over? Can you save it for the next coat or make a new batch?
Once mixed it will dry out quickly. Whatever is not used is usually discarded. So mix in small batches as needed.
Thank you
You're welcome
Good Job
Great job!
great tutorial, thank you!
Thanks bro
Great video
Legend thanks for doing this video!
If you’re working with drywall w/o texture. Would adding mesh tape or butt joint drywall tape be beneficial to place over the corner bead, over the additional nails of course?
mesh tape isn’t necessary but can be used
Your accent went up 1000% in this video!
Complete newbie here... What is that stuff you plaster over the wall?
are asking about the texture part? it is a can that can be purchased at most any hardware store. just follow the directions for use.
I keep doing my corners but the metal shows through, is that ok or should it be all the way covered by the mud? Thanks.
A little bit showing is ok if you’re going to texture. Otherwise you have to build up with more mud and sand smooth
No mesh tape?
No one uses mesh tape over corners down here in the south. I’m originally from Kansas and it is more common up there but we don’t have any issues.
What the mug mixture that u use? I have two small repairs that I need to do!!
The bag said, 'Easy Sand 45 joint compound'
Whixh mud should we use Green or Blue ?
Either
Hi- is it possible to fix the corner of a wall and paint it in the same day? I’m moving out of my apartment and the movers hit the wall. I want to fix it and not be charged a fortune by my landlord.
Yes a quick set mud (easy sand 20) can be used with fans blowing on it.
Thank you so much!
How to repair the corner that does not have the bead strip?
Either add a corner bead or use paper Sheetrock tape
Nice! Now yall can repair all those cribs in Gaza 😁
Can joint compound be used?
Yes. We used light weight fast dry joint compound. But a regular, pre mixed mud can be used as well. It will just take a little longer to dry.
How do I secure the corner bead if there’s no wood behind it. I used 1 1/4” nails but there’s nothing to grab onto. There’s no base plate either.
you can use spray adhesive and a crown staple gun to secure it.

Thank you for the reply. I like learning from the pros.
What product is the mud?
Sheetrock 45 made by CGC. In the US it’s USGC.
can you do this with spakle?
Yes you can but it will be much harder to smooth out. It will take a bit more sanding but is do-able
the ones I repaired were exposed for a long time I sprayed them with killz first so it would stick
What if the corner is round?
No primer?
Nice ,but I'm doing work like this now and where the metal meets the sheetrock Im still have somewhat of uneven surface .do I still keep adding more mixture (afraid if it's to thick it will have cracking down the road ) or is there something I'm missing or I need to do .thanks
Do you mean it is dished? You can add more mud and let it fully dry then if it cracks a little put a light skim coat on.
@@israelcontracting4059 sorry what do you mean by dished?

What happens if they used aluminum on the corner?
Nice thanks
Świetna robota ! Great job !
Thank You! Happy New Year!
my walls aren't textured so the cornerbead is still showing through the outside edge
Just have to add more Sheetrock mud and sand smooth
everything I'm reading/watching says the outside corner is supposed to be left showing and that you just paint over it..@@israelcontracting4059
Nice, man. Nice !
Sheetrock is a trademarked brand of drywall, is your repair method only for Sheetrock branded drywall or does it apply to any gypsum board?
Any and all
This is good but everybody has little problems, I have a hole on the corner
what do you do if theres no corner bead and its extremely damaged
Add corner bead and float it out.
would be nice if these tutorials show us what compound to apply. in laymans.. what is MUD?? like tell us what to buy,,,
It was on the video
White of the HOUSE here
I have a gapping hole about 8 inches missing, no frame
They make fiber patch kits to cover holes and the the same mud process is used over the top. Can be purchased at local hardware stores and Walmart
Lol..that paint job on trim is terrible..it’s on the wall ..lol
