Such incredible...and in so many ways, sad history...it's striking in its beautiful starkness. And it speaks to how in so many ways, we need to do better. Just amazing how it's been preserved.

I love historic sites like this. It is great that they found those ruins. It is an interesting look at the lives of the Kuaua Pueblo Indians. I would love to see the murals in that room. Hopefully we can make it out that way someday. Thanks for sharing this history with us!

That was an amazing Pueblo find with the kiva and the huge expanse of rooms found there. Coronado will probably always be the name, but you are right that it would make more sense for the focus of the name to be about the Pueblo Natives. You shared such great information.

Thanks! Great video. They should rename it; in spite of several visits (all the way from the Netherlands, Europe) to the area, I never went there, supposing it was about the man Coronado.

Recent scholarship of Coronado documents shows they were looking for a passage to Asia across the Pacific. The people who lived at Kuaua were Tiwa people.

Sadly when it comes to old native ruins, it seems they are often named something entirely inaccurate (or sometimes even insulting). Some even still using the name given by enemies. A shame. Loved this video though and the history/b-roll bit in the beginning! 😄

It is sad. It just makes more sense to the viewer if they know the background and I’m enjoying the learning process!
