I too live in Santa Fe. Good job! You got some good highlights there. Of course, you can spend years here and still discover new things about Santa Fe. I would add yet another church. The Santuario de Chimayo. As well as a drive up the mountain to the Santa Fe Ski Basin. Talk about great sunsets, this is a good one.

I'd love to visit this place. I'm from North Carolina so it's another world for me. But a great place to practice Spanish I'm sure as well as learn about this ancient part of our history. NM seems like what a Native American society would look like today

My parents are from North New Mexico. Live in Texas now. My Dad grew up in Chama. I know we are descendent from Spain, and Native American. I remember my Aunt saying someone was French . I love going up there, and find places to eat. I'll be going next Friday. Have a Good day.

Youissed chimayo, the sand where the crucifix was found. A church was built over the sight. But at the people's request a hole was left on the floor, where the cross was found. People claim miracles when they take some of the sand. No matter how much sand is taken, it never depletes. A miracle In itself

Great tour of a place I really love! You covered most of it, I'll have to say, but when you were headed down the mountain from Bandelier on New Mexico Route 4 if you went just a few miles further you'd have come to an amazing place now called the Valle Caldera, formerly known as the Valle Grande and also as the Bacca Location no.1. The Bacca was a cattle ranch that was given to Louise De Bacca by the king of Spain. It encompassed pretty much the entire north central part of the state. Since then the ranch was sold off in parcels until only 98,000 achers were left and then in the late 90's it became a possession of the U.S. Forest Service. I was a cowboy on the ranch between 1996 and 1999 while the Dunagan Corporation of Texas owned it. It's an amazing property and is open to the public. South of the Valle Caldera on Route 4 is Spense Hot Spring, one of the nicest hot springs I've ever visited. The water is Geo thermally heated to a temperature of 101° year round. The Jemez mountains are very volcanicly active and are home to many great springs. The town of Jemez Springs is another 10(?) miles to the south of Spence Hot Springs. For many years it was a ranching community and durring the second world war it nearly became the site of the National Laboratory but Los Alamos won out because the War Department was looking for a mountain town with only one road in and out. N.M.4 went through Jemez Springs and terminated in Los Alamos at that time and that is why the National Labs were built there. Einstein and Oppenheimer did make many of the final calculations in the development of the atomic bomb in Jemez Springs in what is now The Jemez Mountain Inn, a very nice B&B. There are many nice places to stay there and there are a number of great eating places and art galleries to check out. Were I in Santa Fe looking for things to do I'd definitely go to the Jemez. It's not far. The people there are wonderful and Route 4 is designated a National Scenic Biway and I'm sure I couldn't recommend a more beautiful place to see. By the way, there is an authentic cowboy saloon and restaurant called, Los Ojos (the eyes). Food is great and that's where the locals go. Worth investigating. Thanks for the video!

Einstein didn't have anything to do with plus albums. He was not a "nuclear" physicist. (Relevativistic mechanics) Edward Teller actually did most of the calculations with a few other guys. They used a lot of women to actually do the repetitive computations. (PDE Solutions can be extremely repetitive. This is why computers made all the difference.) Oppeheimer was primarily involved with management. He was selected because of his friendship with so many of the scientists of the day. It turned out to be a mistake because he Foolishly have many of the secrets to the soviets. [ I am retired from working in this area. (Research engineer) I knew and worked with many of the scientists. Teller was the most brilliant man I've ever worked with. Met him while I was in graduate school at Stanford.] The National Atomic Museum in Albuquerque gives some of the story. (Most of the truth will never be known outside the classified world.)

My family and I love Santa Fe. We visit there at least once a year. We drive up from San Antonio, TX (11 hour drive). Another great place to visit is Sandia Mountain. Yes it´s on the outskirts of Albuquerque but it´s definitely a must when in the area and it´s only 1 hour away. The tram is one of the longest cable rides and I’ve been there both in the summer and winter. Overall, Santa Fe is a must! Awesome food too!

The palace of the plaza is now open. It's incredible! Santa Fe Ski Area. The lifts run during the summer. The French pastry shop right near the Basilica is a must for you! Incredible French pastries and food. From Los Alamos you can return to Albuquerque via the Jemez Mountains. The Valle Grande, Battleship Rock, and Jemez Springs are a must. During the summer you can stop at the roadside stalls and pick up Indian fry bread which is incredible. You can also take the alternative route from Albuquerque to Santa Fe via highway 14. Go East hop of Albuquerque through the Canyon and take North 14. You can drive up to the crest at 11000 feet. The old mining town of Madrid is a must. The road will take you right into South Santa Fe. There are a lot of great restaurants in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. In Albuquerque I recommend the unique Southwestern food at La Salita. (Carne Adovada on Fridays - Tell Cindy Hello for me!) Of course you must stop by the frontier restaurant across from the university - Incredible cinnamon rolls, breakfasts, Carne Adovada burritos, and green chile stew. In Santa Fe there are so many great restaurants... The shed, off of the plaza, has classic Southwestern food In a classic environment.

You forgot the internationally renowned Santa Fe Opera house just north of town. It’s a top-tiered opera house that is the only American opera house that is an outdoor amphitheater.

Catherine Maynes yes! If you can’t go see an opera, I highly recommend the tours they give in the morning! So fascinating and informative.

Haha, I've never heard Meow Wolf pronounced like that before.... and I live here. It's actually pronounced like a cat's "meow."
We love a lot of these places too, Bandelier one of our faves, but it's a shame that you did not include El Rancho De Las Golondrinas. You totally missed it! 😢

Drove through New Mexico on my way to the Grand Canyon. Now here soon I'll be staying in New Mexico to check out how beautiful it is clear from Ohio. I love to travel

Wrote down all your suggestions and went to 90% of them while here in Santa Fe! Just FYI Santa Fe now has a mandatory shuttle into the park. No more parking inside the park. Must go to white rock and pick up the shuttle into the park

Thanks to the locals who politely corrected his pronunciation! Since the name is a play on “Beowulf”, maybe he assumed it was supposed to rhyme. Made perfect sense to me.

@Jason Carlage - Thanks for the info. While I would have been more impressed if it was named for “Beowulf”, I like knowing the truth ☺️

It has been several years since I have been there, but I remember a restaurant located in a warehouse named Zia that had the best meatloaf, made with green chili peppers that I loved

Missed this one way back - fantastic list! It all looks fabulous, but loved seeing The Game Of Thrones thing (not that I have EVER watched or read any of that, but George's girlfriend is my sister's best friend from childhood) and the hiking! Great job as always :)

I would have included (1) La Fonda hotel and its rich history and its millions of dollars of original art. (2) The Indian traders at the Palace of the Governors. Outside of the city of Santa Fe, I would have definitely included (3) a visit to Abiquiu (always a favorite with our out-of-town guests). and (4) A visit to one of the many Indian Pueblos.

I would recommend a cruise down cerrrillos rd and take in the huge swaths of homeless that have flooded the south side over the years thanks to liberal policies and of course you have to visit one of the enormous homeless encampments under st.francis and on 599.. if your not in downtown santa fe you quickly realize santa fe is extremely poor, uneducated town built to serve the wealthy on the north side..AKA a liberals paradise...as long as the homeless are out of site.
