Not to crash the party, but he's sounding a bit strained if you ask me. The opening bit "do you have any specials", his voice cracks like mad. All good tho. Still better than anything DLR could put together.
As a bass player myself, I always used to laugh when people wouldn't give him any credit. I can tell you, while relatively simple notewise, the bass line on this song is absolutely brutal to play smooth all the way through without cramping up. Mikey is a straight machine!
I was there; it was awesome. Joe is not Eddie, and never claimed to be. He's part of paying tribute to the MUSIC. That's all this show is about. The fact that he'd never played a VH song or riff in his life prior to this tour shows what a pro he is. I've seen VH 7 times since 1984, and this, with Sam and Mike, is the closest I'll ever get to seeing them again. If you want perfect VH covers, go see a VH tribute band. IMO, this is THE VH tribute band because of who's in it.
Not a tribute band, there’s at least half of Van Halen performing here! Even though they are not “Van Halen” per se, there are two past members playing songs they at least contributed to while in Van Halen
@@The_Last_Ninja Exactly my point! Who better to pay tribute to the music than people who were actually in the band! I just hate all the trolls that are picking this tour apart. They should shut up and go write their own multi-platinum music.
I took my 14 year old son to see Sammy and Loverboy in Bristow, VA last Saturday. It was his first concert and he loved it. Both shows were great and Sammy gave two hours of his best. You'd never know he was 76, very impressive.
Man do they sound good it's hard to believe Sammy Hagar is the same age as Bill Clinton and Sammy sounds as good as he did 30 years ago it looks like he has just as much energy that he had 30 years ago man that dude is one awesome guy looks like it would be an awesome show Joe is doing awesome on the guitar everybody from the draw me to the base they all look great sound great 🤘🏻

Joe is very cool for doing this though he probably knew ugly comments and comparisons were sure to come from the hard core Eddie fans. He's plenty good enough to do this and anyone who thinks he isn't probably doesn't play guitar anyway. It's a tribute to Eddie, and Joe is awesome guitarist. And yes this song with Eddie and Alex is 10x more powerful. But I love what sammy and Mike are doing paying tribute to eddie
Nobody talking about how great Mikey was with his playing, attitude, and singing
Definitely a MVP.
Because he’s always great
Watching and taking notice, no doubt. So glad he’s there!

They freaking nailed it. Sammy still sounds great
Joe is definitely an amazing guitar player
Awesome show. Sammy at his best!!!!!
He sounds great. Happy and thankful for Sammy and Mike

I love Mikey like everybody says he’s underrated he does. His job sounds great plays great doesn’t bitch that’s why nobody talks about him.
One of their best songs and the video made us boys happy
Looks like they are having a good time honoring the legacy of VH. Amazing that Sammy can still rock as hard as ever too.
Love my baby's pound cake ❤
Satch! 🔥🔥🔥
Great upload. Thanks!
Thanks for watching
You drilled it Joe
I live down the road a bit. Now I wish I went
Good times ! 👍
Mikey Killing bass 🎸😢

I like how Paul Gilbert uses a drill on his guitar better by attaching 3 picks to it and shredding

Sam forgot monsters of rock year also...😅
Jasons drums, need more cymbals
It’s funny the drill looks like a gun😂

How low are they tuned down?
D standard drop C?
They're down one whole step. Original is E, this is in D. Sounds alright, but any lower would sound strange.
@@threeleggedman Sammy can't reach E anymore. Understandable.
