I read Don Felder’s book, it was very interesting and let’s just say although he was devastated when he was kicked out of the band, it had to have been the best thing for him in the long run. The Eagles are remarkable, but what a toxic atmosphere he had to endure. My take is that Henley and Frey had a “keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” relationship, had massive egos, and they were both resentful (jealous?) of Mr Felder’s talent and wanted him kept directly under their thumbs.
I was shocked to find you were only 15. You are an old soul musically. These are sophisticated and beautiful arrangements. Never seen "Barbie" or heard the Eilish version but it can't possibly be this good.
I learned the lead guitar to this song a long long time ago. Even though its not the hardest thing to play or anything, its really difficult to make it sound like Felder does. He has such an amazing touch on the fretboard and his plectrum is absolutely perfect. I noodle around with it occasionally. Some bands I've been in wanted to do the song just because I can play it, but I've always said no because first off I don't wanna make an ass of myself, and second, the Eagles are the stingiest group of litigation happy musicians on the planet. You know? You can play Bob Segers stuff til your fingers fall off and I just love Drew Abbott's playing! Theres another guy with really special fingers!
An Eagles reunion with Felder will never happen as long as Don Henley is on this earth. Don Henley controls the Eagles Ship and as talented as he is, his bitterness and stubbornness goes above and beyond.

Sammy reigns supreme but FELDER is underated!
He has the 3 necessary ingredients to make a great guitar player: TONE, TECHNIQUE & FEEL

Don Felder you sir are a ROCK GOD
He is a great player but a god he isn't. Jesus is, Jesus is who gave Don is talent and skill for playing guitar.
Glen Frey said this song was so big it caused Hardening of the Artististry He was fired because he asked Glen and Don how much the band was making touring. They were probably low balling him. He won in court. He's coming in August 2023.with Felder and friends can't wait.
Don Felder was always the most talented of the Eagles hands down!!!!!! He's a class act.
Absolute garbage. He can’t sing for shit😂😂😂😂😂. Henley is the most talented by far. Epic vocalist, epic song writer, plays drums and a little guitar while he singing like noone can.. thats why he’s more successful as a solo artist than ALL of them combines!
Hilarious!!!!! Most talented?????? Wow......
I saw Don with the eagles in 1975. His solo on one of these nights was my highlight. Bernie was there playing fantastically. I knew Don was one unbelievable guitar player then. He showed it once again here. Wow is all I can say. I will keep trying to learn from you Don. You're incredible and an inspiration. I've seen the eagles 5 times and they blew the roof off every time. Don Felder especially.
Never tired of listening to this song ❤
I love this guy 😊
Thanks. Sammy and Don. You guys made my morning. When this album came out my friend and I would play Hotel California over and over singing to the liner notes. For hours. It is burnt into my memory ,heart and soul. Thanks.
I was fortunate enough to see the Eagles with Don Felder on The Long Run tour. Such a shame the Eagles let him go!
I did as well. The Oakland Alameda Arena AND Roy Orbison opened for them! Just an amazing show.
And then everybody realized Don Felder is the greatest guitar player of all time, geez! Nice work
I've seen and heard Don do this live...as a guitarist myself...it gives me chills. This is possible one of the greatest rock songs ever. Certainly one of the most recognizable ones. Thanks
Fantastic guitarist. Great song.

A stunning performance by Don Felder and Sammy Hager.
I think that I prefer this to the original version.
Fantastic!!!!! Thank you for posting!!!
Fantastic. Sammy and Don Felder.
Sammy is a magician.
You've got one of the most talented rock singers ever sitting right there, and you gotta sing the song, Don?
An Eagles reunion with Felder will never happen as long as Don Henley is on this earth. Don Henley controls the Eagles Ship and as talented as he is, his bitterness and stubbornness goes above and beyond.
That’s very true !
Rumor is Frey’s final words to Henley were “whatever you do don’t let that fucker back in the band”!!
That and the fact that Felder is gone now
@@philmeadows874 gone where??
@@qproridr well, I thought he was dead but I’m wrong . I apologize. Fell victim of an online hoax
This Song's imagery is epic.
Hey Don, your the greatest!! You are the Eagles. Love hearing you play that SG Gibson double neck.Sammy so damn cool, always!! 🎸🎵🎶
Best version EVER.
EAGLES WITHOUT DON ARE JUST KISS.
SAMMY AND DON SHOULD DO A TOUR
Don Felder was the rock in the Eagles ! One of the best guitarists ever !
I love that even Sammy can't help but hum along with the guitar solo like the rest of us!
Man, those are BIG notes on that 6 string. Such depth. Wonderful!
One of the best songs ever written. Great version with Sammy! Reminds me my talent is 1 out of 10 lol
