- I made two dell 700 watt power supplies into benchtop power supplies. www.ebay.com/it... This is fairly easy, but can be somewhat difficult. The charger is powered perfectly from this, although I can only get 11.85 volts for now. My soldering station is a trakpower tk950, and it does very well. This power supply can power many different things other than chargers, and yes, it can power other chargers. It has enough draw on my electrical system to draw down the lights more than my window air conditioner. This is in a shed though, so the wiring may be insufficient. If it becomes a problem then I will use my pool pumps 100 amp capable wiring for a charge. I got the 106b+ for David at progressiverc.com Sorry again about the mess, but I was building compressors, 2 cars, power supplies, dirtbikes and other random things. That is nothing how it looked a week ago. If there is anything that I missed, please leave a comment asking me. I will build these and sell them for 50$ a piece. I currently have one availabe, but once that sells, I will have about a one week wait time for the parts to arrive at my house. 12 Gauge wire is plenty for this build, but you can not draw all of the 50 amps from one port on the charger, or shouldn't. You would need to parallel wire them into your charger, or whatever you may be powering.

I picked up a 2.7kW one a few days ago for parts. It's not much bigger than this thing, and can actually output more than 200 amps continuously at 12V.
Would you happen to have a link for that? I am currently building a work bench for a client and he requires MASSIVE amounts of dc current. I think he does ham radios and other 12 volt activities with many friends and he is always wanting more power once I come up with a design. That would beat the 12 volt genset that I was going to build him.
I picked it up from a friend of mine...unfortunately he has no intention of putting them up on eBay.

Did you ever sell these on eBay? I bought one just like it a few years ago from there 750w dell. Fan is quiet. Thing fucking rocks!
Just checked EBay and looks like some server guy blew everyone else out of the water with those carbon wrapped ones. 1000w for $60 and they are small and cool looking.

question for you, it says 700w max - does that mean that because there are 3 +12V outputs, that each one should put out 12V ~ 233 watts? I ask because the 106B+ is 250W capable, and if you ever move up to a 206B or 306B i would need more power - so can you just solder the (3) positive output posts together into one bullet connector; therefore giving you one connection that can take the max amout of power (i.e. 700W 57A) or as much as the charger is capable of pulling from those soldered terminals

+steven statham At 1:49 I show the pins for the connections. I believe this still allows the fan to ramp up as needed. I have not been able to make the fan come up much more than the lowest speed with full load and the air coming out and the case itself was still 5° higher than ambient. I can look into it again if you think it is necessary for your application.
so do you just tie the two left wires together then touch those two to the right wire?
yes, that is all is required to jump the pins to power on.
how did you figure out pin layout? which is which? I just got dell poweredge m1000e and I would need a bit help with it..

My interpretation of the pinout on this late hoiday night (Cloudy mind) is to connect A1 B6 B2 and it should fire right up. Let me know if this does not work and I will take a look at it with fresh eyes.

You must remove the 12 volt ground from one of the power supplies, so that they don't conduct ac current between the two. The best idea is to read up on 24 volt power supply builds. PLEASE, be careful. If you do not properly isolate the grounds within the case completely, and they come into contact with the case, you can electrocute yourself quite easily. I would not recommend doing that unless you have a very strong understanding of electrical wiring and safety. I assume no liability or responsibility for you misadventure. Also, what are you doing that requires 24 volts? In most cases you can get away with a 12 volt power supply, as modern chargers have buck-boosters built in to charge higher voltage batteries.
MONEYPITDBG i think you can put a resistor somewhere and the powersupply ramps the voltage up to 13.9v!
