You can take old or stock servos and create receiver controlled swtiches. this actually turns on and off leds and fans from your controller, not the device itself. This can be done very easily with a precision screw driver and a soldering iron. To get the motor off of the board, simply touch the soldering iron on the opposite side of the board where the motor contacts, and vary between the side...

this is an old atx power supply that i modified to power any 12 volt accessory. You can get any size of computer power supply and do this to it. i think you have to load the other rails to get a true 12v reading, but i ran fans that i put on it from day 1 so, i am not 100% on that. I bought the traxxas tqi 2.4ghz controller a few weeks ago and wanted to give an accurate review, so I waited until i used it for a while. overall i like the remote and all of the features, the one thing that i dont like is the cheap feeling when the phone is not in the dock. EDIT: I have since taken every cvd off after I have broken 6 replacements and have gone with summit shafts and losi diffs. I would not recommend traxxas cvds. An unboxing and install of the metal driveshafts on the erevo brushless edition.

Did you ever sell these on eBay? I bought one just like it a few years ago from there 750w dell. Fan is quiet. Thing fucking rocks! Just checked EBay and looks like some server guy blew everyone else out of the water with those carbon wrapped ones. 1000w for $60 and they are small and cool looking.
how did you figure out pin layout? which is which? I just got dell poweredge m1000e and I would need a bit help with it..

question for you, it says 700w max - does that mean that because there are 3 +12V outputs, that each one should put out 12V ~ 233 watts? I ask because the 106B+ is 250W capable, and if you ever move up to a 206B or 306B i would need more power - so can you just solder the (3) positive output posts together into one bullet connector; therefore giving you one connection that can take the max amout of power (i.e. 700W 57A) or as much as the charger is capable of pulling from those soldered terminals

Hiya, Any idea which pins to join together to slow the fan down or make the speed automatic under load. Regards Steve.
+steven statham At 1:49 I show the pins for the connections. I believe this still allows the fan to ramp up as needed. I have not been able to make the fan come up much more than the lowest speed with full load and the air coming out and the case itself was still 5° higher than ambient. I can look into it again if you think it is necessary for your application.

My interpretation of the pinout on this late hoiday night (Cloudy mind) is to connect A1 B6 B2 and it should fire right up. Let me know if this does not work and I will take a look at it with fresh eyes.

You must remove the 12 volt ground from one of the power supplies, so that they don't conduct ac current between the two. The best idea is to read up on 24 volt power supply builds. PLEASE, be careful. If you do not properly isolate the grounds within the case completely, and they come into contact with the case, you can electrocute yourself quite easily. I would not recommend doing that unless you have a very strong understanding of electrical wiring and safety. I assume no liability or responsibility for you misadventure. Also, what are you doing that requires 24 volts? In most cases you can get away with a 12 volt power supply, as modern chargers have buck-boosters built in to charge higher voltage batteries.
MONEYPITDBG i think you can put a resistor somewhere and the powersupply ramps the voltage up to 13.9v!

I picked up a 2.7kW one a few days ago for parts. It's not much bigger than this thing, and can actually output more than 200 amps continuously at 12V.
Would you happen to have a link for that? I am currently building a work bench for a client and he requires MASSIVE amounts of dc current. I think he does ham radios and other 12 volt activities with many friends and he is always wanting more power once I come up with a design. That would beat the 12 volt genset that I was going to build him.

No, the remaining parts that were smoldering were extinguished. The lipo fire is practically impossible to put out, just let them burn themselves out.
Mip have their problems as well. I run summit shafts and have only broken one which I am still using.
No, just the esc board was burning at that time. Lipo fire can't be practically stopped. Theoretically it is possible, but I just let them burn themselves out.
You were able to stop the battery's fire with the fire extignusher?

You can't change that kind of setting from the transmitter, but i dont think that you can change the lvc of the vxl anyway. On my mamba monster you have to program it with a computer to change it. I dont think the vxl has that ability to do that through pressing the on off button, which is the only way to program it. you can only change the things that a normal traxxas radio does, but it is much easier with a screen I may be wrong about the vxl being non-programmable, but i dont think it is.
do you know if you can change the LVC (low voltage cutoff) on the vxl-3s esc using the tqi and the traxxas app?
with the latest update of the app, you can now change the instruments to metric.
thank you. it of course can be used with a nitro, you just need the rpm sensor mount that is specific for that car. it may be an all around mount. The temperature sensor simply goes around the cooling head in the holes of the head. you can simply plug in your temperature/voltage to a spare slot on your receiver for your battery voltage. let me know if you have any other questions.

That is a really good question. To be honest I am really not sure about that. I have found forums that have asked about that, but no one has given a true answer. I have looked through the app and can not find it. It would be very strange that they would not include that feature, but i am sure if you call the traxxas support (1 800 traxxas ) they would be glad to either help you or out in a recommendation for the next app update. It would be a very simple code writing to get it to work. Sorry

about 10 dollars for each one, you need the long ones, and the temp/voltage. you can also do the rpm or gps, there is also an expander that allows you to have as many sensors that you want. look on towerhobbies (dot) com for the sensors.

look at your receiver. if it has a red light, turn off the car and turn it back on. it should have a green light. you might need to relink the tx/rx. Also, in the app, do you have the slash ultimate selected as your car?
i got a traxxas slash ultimate everything is stock but i cant get my ipod to connect to the car when im running it
ok, what doesnt work? i need some more details to help you. do you have the docking base? is the app loaded properly on the ipod? batteries are good? if it is a telemetry problem, do you hav'e the appropriate sensors in the correct slots? I dont mean to offend you, but i have to go over everything basic, because a lot of people miss those steps. if you give me more info on your problem, I can help you.

you only need the internet to download the app, and every month or so, I would check if there is an update to the app. But, bring your car to the internet also, as I beleive it might need it to apply the update, I am not sure as I did it over 3g when i was at the track. But if you dont update the app,and everything works, then you should be fine.
