Imagine that you live in the street where Nick always goes through to transport his plants. At what point would you start to worry about this man who always walks the streets with plants in bags.
I'd be like......I need to make friends with this person LOL
I actually did that, too 😁 When I moved I didn't trust the moving guys with the smaller plants, only the really big ones got in the transporter. The rest were brought by me in several trips on my bicycle or on bus trips. People did stare 😁
I would tell at him:. PLANT FREAK
Me being me, I'd probably ask if he could use some help after the second pass lol I know the struggle of moving a f@#kton of houseplants alone 😔

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost a cat in July that I raised for 10 years from a newborn after his Mama had to have an emergency c-section. I know what you're going through ::hugs::

I plan on moving next year sometime, i only have ~50 plants but oh gosh i cant even imagine how difficult moving all of them is going to be. I can't even begin to think of how difficult 350 is
I saw one of his tirst.. and i have over 300 and i didnt have a house ready yet so i had to move thrm all into a storage unit for..4 it took me 12 trip and it took up the whole 10x20 unit.....

Moving is very stressful we always forget all the extras we bought over the time we've spent in the old place. You were smart to overlap the leases to give you time and also be so close to the new place. Good luck with the rest. You made it this far, you can relax and breathe soon. 🌈

Glad your friends are helping as well....great job moving little by little...I would walk most of my plants too :) last time I moved, people grabbed my tall euphorbia and bent over the whole plant and I had to chop the whole thing and restart it! It still is not as beautiful as before, 8 years later....I will never let people esp those who know nothing about nor own a plant, touch my plants again....
We moved 2 years ago and while I didn’t have any plants at the time (now I’m at 70-80 plants) I had a lot of books and honestly by the end I was ready to just dump all the boxes. 🙃 Moving is definitely stressful no matter what you’re moving!
Oh my gawd, I feel your pain. 2 years ago I moved my artwork, 2 chairs fishing g poles and tools. AND 2500 plants in a 12 x 20 foot truck. Get this, from the Everglades Florida to Fayetteville North Carolina! I just about lost my mind.....
I do not envy you. My last apartment move, I had to rent an entire uhaul truck. It took two trips of a full truck to move all of my houseplants. And that's AFTER I purged a bunch and left them out for free. Absolute headache, but I have an addiction so what you gonna do?
Did you ever think of being a professional plant stylist. I’m happy how my plants are but I’d like to get more but I don’t know where to put them. So I look around and say to myself where would Nick put them. I can’t hang them high cause I’m 70 years old and I might fall

He Nick I can understand your stress...I had to move my plants for a distance of 1000 km....but my plants stressed out in the intense heat...n coz of my hectic schedule I couldn't take care of my plants n I fell sick n had to undergo a surgery n hospitalization n many of my plants perished....it was so disheartening....the weather has now improved n so has my health...hope I am able to rejuvenate my plants n add a few more to my collection...take care Nick

Our closing date for our new home is Friday September 30th! We should have the keys on Monday and start moving on Tuesday!

Omg!! I’m soo jealous! Congratulations!! I want to move! But I keep getting hitting with bad news just one thing after another. I was applying for a job at a local greenhouse when my dad had a stroke and I just don’t think it’s appropriate to start a new job and start planning on moving now bc I live w him and he’s paralyzed in 1 leg atm and may need my help, I have faith he’ll walk again but it may be awhile. Though Mentally/emotionally learning the ropes working at a greenhouse would be the best distraction for me atm vs sitting around constantly stressed and worried about him.

I always just assume and expect that moving will be horrible because everytime I’ve ever moved it’s horrible lol it’s only temporary tho! Then you get to style a whole new place 🥳
We'll be moving soon too, I have much much less plants but we are going across country plus pets. I don't even want to think of the driving days to get there. I hope you can settle soon in your new place

Hold on, Nick! Thank you very much for sharing the experience! If you have time, my advice - take breaks - when doing smth long and big, take a nap, take a shower, a cup of beverage, an episode of favorite show. The mess won't dissolve faster, but you will collect some energy for further job. If you feel that you're done, stop and go to rest, don't overstress yourself.
I would consider moving all my plants a nightmare. I count them each fall when I bring them in from outside and last year I had 216. I tried to be generous this summer and give some to friends!

I totally get how you are feeling. I get the same way when it comes to moving. Just hang in there it'll be over soon. Make sure that you get plenty of rest and take care of yourself so that you won't get floored by all the stress. Looking forward to seeing your new apartment all done up the way you envision it. 😊🌿

I was given a canvas folding wagon as a gift that was purchased on Amazon. If you purchased one it would be perfect for you to move your items and when you do your grocery shopping.

Even though it’s not done yet, the new place looks so much better! I’m not sure why you had to move, but I think the new place will be nicer. I just recently moved, after living in my apartment for 6 years, and ohhhh man. It was in February and I lost a few plants. You think you can prepare for everything, but just like weddings, _something_ will happen; because it *must* . I really do think the new place has much more character and better coloring, it’s not sterile, and hopefully you’ll be able to relax soon. Maybe try putting all of the shelving and large items all together in one rectangular space so you can sorta eyeball it and gauge how big of a truck/van you’ll need. Also Home Depot has moving vans you can rent by the hour! We are all rooting for you Nick 🪬

What a stress but totally worthy
I am curious... Why do you Americans move so many times? Rent was going up or something? In Poland we spend years, if not all life in one place, so this moving like once a year is intriguing to me.
Usually here in the U.S., when you rent, most times there is a lease involved. A lease is usually for 12 months. Then you or the landlord have the rights to decide what happens when the lease is up. The landlord usually raises the rent, so you move elsewhere. Also most people move to either be closer to a job, or life changes. In Europe, public transportation is golden most places. Not so in the U.S. I lived in Atlanta for 35 years and it took longer or at best broke even to get to work by public transportation than it did by car and I lived 26 miles from work.

You can do this Nick!is what we do for the love of our plants,that gets you there,I moved in April with 270 plants and also had to wait for a truck to bring my shelves,finally we're all here,is like I'm reliving the stress😂....

Take a couple of days to try and relax. Curl up with muffin some place.. She may be feeling a little off because of the move too. You're doing good to get as much done as you did so far!!🤗❤💯
I’m moving too on Nov 1st and moving 200 hundred plants. I watched someone on RUclips and the idea was perfect for me moving the plants in deep long plastic bins with cover. I’ll be removing the soil and lying them down in the bin and stacking the plants on each other carefully. You can throw in some wet Spagnum moss to keep the roots from drying out. I’m just moving 20 minutes away so they should be fine. The really tall plants I will putting in my car.
I'm moving in 5 days. This was really helpful since I went from 20 plants to 170+ plants within a year!
Might be helpful to put some cardboard in the bags to make a more stable and even surface for the pots to sit on 🙂

Oh, Nick, this video is RIGHT on time. I will be moving shortly, and was wondering how I was going to pack up my plants. I had to part with 99% of my collection, when I moved across the country last year, I'm not doing that this time around 😂.
someone stole about 15 of my plants that I left outside to bask in some sun a few days ago, and I was feeling pretty bummed out and unmotivated to keep up with my other plants. Seeing all your plants all together like that makes me want to put effort in getting them back again and rebuilding with new plants to my collection. Thank you for sharing your life, and ps.. take your time, once the plant shelves are in, plant styling is going to be so much fun! cant wait to see what you do with the place.
