Great idea for a series! I’m going to try to acquire at least one from each video for my new apartment. My pick for this one is the filler, rabbit’s foot fern. I might also try to get a Costa; I really like its full foliage and upright posture. One suggestion for future editions: you might want to insert b-roll of the plants as you have them displayed in your home. But I realize that’s more work in filming and editing. Ok, two suggestions: I like how you addressed the price and availability of some of the plants. Maybe a few quick comments on those for each plant would be helpful.
I have a costus, though not this one, they have their own personality, I really like mine. You can't really tell from his but they are called "spiral ginger" because the leaves spiral around the stems. Costa Farms was showing a costus at shows but I haven't seen it stores yet. Theirs has a deep red underside, nice looking plant.
Not vib….vibe. Forgot to mention the white shirt. Very smart. Loved the six categories. As a floral person, Im all over concept of thriller, filler, and spiller.
Oh my gosh! This was so much fun. You always have such a contagious affection for plants. I look forward to and love each of your plant vlogs. You are numero uno for plant care tips and knowledge for me.
You look very handsome today. Right creeping done. I have bought all my plants as cuttings. I found a really cheap philodendron on line and it looked pretty poorly, but still deserving of love and encouragement. As this is really all your fault, oh yes, help me! It's a reddish smaller leaf which was wilted but had roots and a hopeful shoot. I planted it up and was as careful watering as usual but put it not in a particularly sunny place. It's looking as though I over watered it. What to do, move it and hope or move it hope and repot it. Loved your style today. Beth from uk
I LOVE rabbits foot ferns! So easy to care for them and gives you that woodland vibe. Definitely enjoyed this video Nick! This series is going to be so helpful in my plant shelf arrangements!
My Philodendron Jose Buono was $110. So still pricey here in Texas. It does have a couple of huge, highly variegated leaves with a new on unfurling but that was ouch when you said $40. 😢
I love how Nick really helps me widen my houseplant horizon by jumping out of the regular 10-20 everyone talks about!! such an awesome series and i cant wait for more!!!
Nick I've always been curious if you have humidifiers in your home going. Given the amount of species you have I was curious if you always had to have them going 24/7. I don't think you have ever covered that in a video or maybe the state you live in makes it a non issue.
Love love love this series. What a creative and fun way to showcase your wonderful collection! (And I personally think the glasses look great, hahaha!)
From my collection: 1. thriller - big and lush schefflera amate, 2. filler - asparagus fern really filled my space 😂 3. spiller - philodendron glorious 4. drama - alocasia regal shields because of her dark, huge leaves and when sunlight goes through those leaves... That's a dramatic look! 5. diva - dumb cane reflector because those leaves are floopy without humidity 6. underdog - monkey tail cactus 💚💚💚💚
Ha Ha!! I love your humour Nik!!! My glasses have that effect on me too!! I see a huge monstera in the mornings but come the evening it looks small.Ive now got about 20 plants mostly tropical. I'm in the UK and have some trouble in the winter. My house is cold. Will grow lights help warm them? Looking forward to seeing more.lolx
Hi Nick! I really enjoyed this new series and am looking forward to more. I like your picks for No. 1. I still need to get my rabbit foot fern set up like yours. The little Hoya Gracilis is too cute. I think the fern leaf fern would look really good mounted like your rabbit foot fern. The spiral ginger is perfect in that pot. You look great in glasses and the white shirt with a martini in your hand. Would you please add the common names, too? They're easier for me to remember. LOL! Thank you so much for sharing!
i can’t bring myself to spend more than $30 on a plant bc i don’t trust prices anymore. there was a pink princess with rly nice variegation at my local greenhouse for $60, and my older sister bought one with little variegation for $120 i think?? i’m not sure, but i know it was more than 100. it’s kind of interesting but also annoying how plants fluctuate so inconsistently in price due to the demand and what is “trending”.
I found a Hoya gracilis in a 2” Hoya asst 5 months ago and for the last few months I’ve not known the name but enjoying its growth none the less, so thank you!! But I’m willing to bet the philo Jose buono is a very rewarding plant. I recently found a painted lady at my local store for $11 bc it declined rapidly thro shipping, it had rotted and was hanging by a thread and I figured I’d just get it and see what would happen and it’s growing like a weed now that it’s in terracotta and being blasted w light.
Love this video and the way nick presents his plants, kinda like you're visiting a friend thats equally into plants as you are. 🖤 Sending love from Cape Town, South Africa
Great new format to bring attention to what might be lesser known plants. I am currently working in a nursery/greenhouse with a large houseplant area and it is nice to see plants I was not familiar with. We have a couple that seem to be underestimated. First is the homalomena - it has such lovely leaves. The second would be the nematanthus frischii with the red pattern on the underside of the leaf. Can't wait to see what is next. Thank you,
"I don't need glasses and this martini Is water" lol too funny Nick!! Sending love from Newfoundland Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️
This 😂😂😂 best line
I can tell the underdogs are going to make me happy. I always cheer for the underdogs. 🎉💖
Yes plant it in the bigger pot

Darn no swimsuit category. Mimosas for everyone! I meant the plant.

Nick, your new look and plan for presentation is very edgy and you have a James Bond sort of vib. Good for you.
Not vib….vibe. Forgot to mention the white shirt. Very smart. Loved the six categories. As a floral person, Im all over concept of thriller, filler, and spiller.

Love this new series! 🪴❤️
Love it! Maybe ur diva would like a glazed pot?? As an aroid maybe with moss or lots of perlite?
I love how Nick really helps me widen my houseplant horizon by jumping out of the regular 10-20 everyone talks about!! such an awesome series and i cant wait for more!!!
I love this idea!!!

The Drama in my house right now is a Columnea gloriosa goldfish plant. Dozens of orange flowers in bloom right now

Hoya Gracilis! So lovely and often passed over. Really enjoy mine.
Lol ….ok we don’t need these glasses and the martini is water. You always make ma smile and lighten my mood. Thank you!
What a fun concept for a video series! I really enjoyed this!
I feel like you need the little name plates for the plants, maybe digitally added to the video. Awesome new series!
Lots of fun, Nick. You "rook maah-vellous" in the glasses.
Love this series already
I’ve been drooling over Jose Buono for a year! And I really can’t stand the prices that people are setting for them right now
Nick have you tried a Mandarine Orange Spider plant?
Omg I loooove that fern and you made it look so beautiful!!!
Just got a Jose Buono Saturday. Really love it! Beautiful.
Fun interesting video…. Thank you….
Love my gracilis… mine blooms all the time and smells great!
I would love a cocktail tutorial video❤️🔥🍸

I really like your eyeglasses. Wear them more often.
Omg! Love this series!!!!!! So handsome with those glasses!
You gotta stick your little pinky fingers out.
The underdog definitely needs the planter you chose.
it also seemed like you were hosting a gameshow at first
Loving the UNDERDOG!
You look so suave with glasses and a martini!
I love how you describe a Diva LOL
