One thing we didn't like about her was the layout of the airwing berthing on the 03 level being open with the passageways running right thru them, hard to get any sleep while you have black shoes running by your rack all the time!
Hear hear! CVA-66 and CVN-71, we were 12 hrs on and 12 hrs off 7 days a week while offshore! Never heard of a rest day at sea unless you where in the IO and had a steel deck picknick!

he;s trying to be universal and not just american
Wow, they have the internet? What's that? (says the me who was on my WestPac while in the Marines back in 1986). 🤦♂️
You know i really idolized navy or military personnel even though i never went but i'm so proud of them serving our country "God Bless them all"
I love the memorabilia in the design of the ship! That is epic!
God Bless America 🇺🇸
"And forget for a few hours that all of them are 1,000 miles away from home" ... Well, they sure remember now lmao
USS Theodore Roosevelt , Unbelievable combat force .
My America is the best of the best.....I don't care what anybody says: I love America!!!
Who are the 125 people that gave the thumbs down? Probably the same people that the USN is out looking for. You can run but you can't hide from the greatest Navy the world will ever know.
sure you can, go far enough inland and the planes cant fly that far duh
Mid-air refueling... tomahawk missiles...
Bruh Britain’s navy back in the old days was superior relative to their time
The American Navy is probably the most influential military force in the world. It's the only true blue-water navy in the world, it has an impressive air force, excellent ground forces (Marines), and long range strike capabilities.
Andrew Arbuckle trust me Indian army will soon surpass the American
@@Chicken56877 But ... and this is a serious question ... will you be able to PROJECT your force outside of your theatre?

You are joking at best.
“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”

Please remember if you like or do not like America at all times you must respect their dedication and respect they have for their homeland. Never ever underestimate the power of the American armed forces.
God Bless the American People

Don't forget, we have a starbucks on that floating city! It wouldn't be a city without one!
no its peak wildy and hope for a pick
There was not a coffee shop on board when I was there in the '90s. Back in y day we had to make our own coffee using canned coffee and notebook paper for a filter. 😎
Legend has it, there is another Starbucks across the hall...
A socialist coffee house on a carrier? Starbucks doesn't even have good coffee.
America runs on Dunks...
It's not a surprise the US are a SUPER POWER
Tallam Kipruto We are THE world super power we are the only country able to wage war on multiple fronts
@RyanCrosby True
yeah but you haven't won a conflict in years you have the might but your government makes you fight unwinnable fights or make you fight with one arm behind your back
jack cloud ??? What war have we not won?
acebasespace those wars were like 60 years ago (we didn’t lose Korea), he was saying that we haven’t won any recently.
This wasnt the aircraft carrier that launched the first strikes after 9-11. It was the USS Enterprise CVN-65. She was on its way back from deployment when the Captain turned the ship around and headed to start strikes against terrorists locations.
Nice documentary. I was an AMH3, on the F14A Tomcat. I deployed to the Gulf, in 1991, on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
What was your longest stretch between port calls? Had a LCDR tell me 130 days out to see because of Dessert Shield. That's a lot of beer days.
None of them are airmen. They are sailors and naval aviators. Sometimes they have a squadron of marine pilots as well.
Someone who has an air rate is called an airman
In Canada we don't need massive war ships. We have massive rubber ducks keeping us safe.
No, you have America keeping you safe
God bless the US and our friends! God speed to the war fighters
The amount of fresh water it can filter is awesome. I'm sure water is an important part of any remote logistics chain.
Great snapshot of the carrier. The Queen Elizabeth is complete and on active duty. I was blessed to be able to serve on the Nimitz 1986-1989. There is nothing in the world like serving in the Navy.
QE is a joke..lol
Amazing military force
"Any team against the Patriots I will root for."
Much respect
“The big stick” nickname is because of Roosevelt’s famous foreign policy of the Latin America’s. “Walk softly, but carry a big stick.”
let's be honest it's just badass no matter which way you look at it
Wow. Roosevelt was really the GOAT
This ship is gorgeous, and so are the aircraft on/in it, but I wish we lived in a world where all this was unnecessary.
That world may never come.
Thanks to America that’ll never happen
@@bensimmons6149 Riiiigghht -- that's why we're always going out and DYING to protect little guys from their ugly neighbors. And rescuing them after natural disasters. "Warmongers R Us", yeah! /s/
That moment when you realize - The B-2 spirit is half the cost of the USS Theodore Roosevelt
Lol 1 aircraft carrier alone can take out some small country.. big stick. Ha.
An aircraft carrier have boom and nucs lmao
Haha big stick drops lotta big booms😂🇺🇸
Three years later, Get those people a bigger TV!!!!! TV manufacturers, DONATE!!!!
JOIN THE NAVY. IT'S NOT A JOB, IT'S AN ADVENTURE!
It is so cool that carrier can hold such a imposing airwing, all inside one ship.
When will something like a helicarrier be built lol.
Id imagine it cost about 400 billion or something crazy to build something like that, research and all.
There already is ,they are called LHA'S

This is a fascinating and suspenseful aircraft carrier RUclips video involving the USS Roosevelt
These carriers are basically floating military bases. Pretty cool. #lovetheusmilitary
MacabreTv especially when deployed in a full fleet... destroyers, subs, ect. Unstoppable power
I was on this deployment !
God bless the most powerful military country on planet earth.... USA
PATSFAN420 huh?
PATSFAN420 every County does that unfortunately brotha. When you are in charge of your own military, you can do whatever you please. Most middle Eastern countries do that for a living.. Don't you know?
Anyways. God bless America.. World's best powerful country
Aircraft carrier is the backbone of us navy
The People ARE!!!!
Thank You for your service.I,Hand Salute you all on the USS Roosevelt...
Its interesting to watch this video, as many of the young sailors interviewed were not even alive yet when I served on CVN-71 from 1987 through 1991, my last deployment being operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm. Good times and good friends.
"13:30"
lol, exactly 13 and a half hour(13.5h) a day work.
I can't work over 12hours a day. Good Job USS Army.
lol, what a damn coincidence.. good catch.
It is Called The Persian Gulf for centuries, go study history!
Oh no....its Arabian golf!!!!....lol
Joe Lewis Iranians take this EXTREMELY seriously. It MUST be referred to as the Persian Gulf, and ONLY as the Persian Gulf. Airlines have been banned from Iranian airspace for calling it anything other than the Persian Gulf.
It’s the Arabian Gulf. All sides of the Arabian Gulf are Arabs
Peace through superior fire power.... Simple concept.
Impressive ship! I was with the first airwing aboard her after she came out of the yards and we got her flight deck crew trained and ready to receive her permanent airwing. One thing we didn't like about her was the layout of the airwing berthing on the 03 level being open with the passageways running right thru them, hard to get any sleep while you have black shoes running by your rack all the time!
GREAT documentary!!!!!!! Thanks for loading this!!!!! Go NAVY!!!!!!!!!
One rest day a week, while deployed?? When I was in, it was 24/7, you didn't get a day off.
Hear hear! CVA-66 and CVN-71, we were 12 hrs on and 12 hrs off 7 days a week while offshore! Never heard of a rest day at sea unless you where in the IO and had a steel deck picknick!
I caught that too! VA-35/CAG-17/CV-60 89-93
There have been issues with crew safety from extended fatigue. Maybe they're trying a new system to see if it helps?
Oh whatever tough guy

That is a degree of comfort that is unimaginable. I went in the army 1966 and man was it ever spartan by comparison. The Air Force had nice amenities but army and marines mostly lived like dogs.
NAVY VETERAN HERE, I LOVE MY NAVY!!!
