Yeah... and additionally that was from quite a distance. Eredin with a few companions runs away from one Witcher not even trying to fight him. It is like in Star Wars Emperor and Darth Vader run away when Han Solo entered room.
Maybe those were in some sort of spectral form? The Aard blast causes them to completely disappear, which could not happen if they were in physical form. Full on teleportation between worlds likely takes a while, and so by the time the portal finishes opening, Ciri would have been long gone, so Eredin instead merely teleported a spectral version of himself and his riders, which would reach Ciri’s world much faster
Actually, while the whole Geralt-out-of-nowhere-spamming-Aard id goofy, depiction of the Hunt is perfect. unnatural storm, turning into a cavalry of spectres. Giving no hint (rightly) that they are in fact actual, living elven warriors (or rather their projections sent from whole another universe). It makes the exchange between Ciri and The King of the Hunt (taken from the books) very much on point.

"Yes, we are corpses." You know I love the writing in the Witcher media, books, games, even most of the show. But finding out that Eredin and the Wild Hunt were just a bunch of elves in spooky armor using magic as, essentially, VFX gave me a lot of the same feelings as at the end of every Scooby-Doo episode when you find out it was just the mayor in a mask all along trying to stir up the tourism business.
The people who’ve read the books know pretty well what the wild hunt it and what they do, in this scenario they’re merely stalking their prey not actually attacking it yet.
@@GigaChadlovesandcares Yeah but even in the books there was a lot of, what are they, going on. It's like are they demonic spirits or eldritch horrors or evil versions of Witchers, what are the Wild Hunt really? And then it turned out they were just Elves. Now don't get me wrong, it completely made sense and there is really no way he could have made that part of the plot make any kind of sense if he had done anything else with the Hunt. But I still felt very Scooby-doo-ed.
the wild hunt are just a bunch of powerful elves who want cirillas blood to become more powerful the games does a much better portrayal of them instead of this scene here which makes them look like a joke since geralt scared them away with a pretty weak spell also the guy speaking was eredin the leader of the hunt
What I want to know is why is it when the demon guy grabbed her by the shoulders, why didn't he yank her off the horse or maybe teleported her to his lair and brainwashed or put her under mind control. And then he could have harnessed her powers to rrrrrrrrule the world or bring duhkness and blah blah blah or whatever these generic villains want? My ideas are so much better than what they have here. "Those don't exist in the lore"... well they've already delved into so many ridiculous fantasy cliches in this show, so I think adding brainwashing and mind control spells is alright. Also, I've never played any of the Witcher games, never read the books, and I've only listened to up to the second season of this show (I say "listened" because I was doing something and wasn't paying attention) but I just realized something... who are the main villains in this and what do they want?
Unfortunately, to be very petty and pedantic, it's Aard he uses in this. Yrden is the "Trap" sign, which he uses to slow people down and forces apparitions to maintain their material forms (in the games at least)
Cirilla's horse is running for his life in this scene. The others are too. This should be presented to the viewers in cinemas worldwide instead of poor iterations of it being played on LCD monitors.
Yes, where, in the next video game lul, this is pathetic, geralt just pops in a single scene prolly filmed from home and is using aard to snipe the wild hunt. Who the hell ever snipes with aard 😂😂😂
Bro this had to be one of the worst scenes in the whole show... Not that it had a lot of good ones really. Plus, that CGI? I'm so disappointed in this series, Netflix should just cancel this show instead of keeping making it worse, is a disgrace for the books.
Jesus everything looks so cheap. They can't excuse the budget. Even if it was trimmed. Many brilliant films and shows have extremely low budgets and don't look nearly this shit. They had a golden goose of a series to make and an actor who was committed to 8 seasons of content. They wrecked it in 2 seasons. Fire this showrunner, cancel the series.
Ah yes Geralt's greatest strength: Aard.
Geralt successfully uses Aard against the Wild Hunt? Seems legit.
😂
Did Geralt just scare away the Wild Hunt with Aard? Oh my goodness.
Probably modded. That would explain it.
