Yennefer even handing Ciri a comb and telling her to "Do something about that mop on your head" while a grumpy Ciri actually DOES. Geralt practically levitating off of the ground when he so much as thinks Ciri is in danger is such a dad thing to do...

    Yen giving the comb to Ciri, and taking care that even they are facing a blood battle for life, she stills go to parties, have fun, play like a child should be, and still look pretty and well dressed, for me is the most motherly thing she could do. She knows Geralt will protect Ciri from all the harm, but she still wants her to live and laugh and dont lose hope. I think the most ironic thing its that, all it comes back by the Jinn wish. Yennefer wanted a child and Geralt wanted to never lose Yennefer. Its a beautifull way to come full circle, specially the way they reference the first seson.

Every dinner they have after Yenn becomes more involved and their last meal it's Geralt and Yenn sitting next to each other and Ciri knows to leave them be... giving them time with one another..

    xD even if the season feels rushed(and I think it's partly due to Henry Cavil's departure and Netflix failing fans of the books and games) I loved these familial moments between the three of them. Yennefer and Ciri having a more complicated relationship(minus what Yennefer tried to do before), where Yennefer is trying to teach her that the world isn't always about what's right and Ciri disagreeing, her being more tomboyish and seeking justice. I liked their disagreements too, because it reminds me of mothers and daughters who are really close but have different opinions and tastes, but despite that they love each other. And then I love Ciri and Geralt moments, where she just jumps on his back and goes hunting with dad...it's nice for a last season(at least with Henry onscreen as Geralt). I think if they had tried to make the storyline more relatable to fans and had a chance to pace it out, season 3 would give more depth into their family relationship.

    • @skyejacques
      @skyejacques 11 месяцев назад +4

      I'd probably just want to point out that the season is rushed and badly paced due to the poor atrocious writing. Henry fought for book fans so we could have a true representation of the stories. The Netflix writers mocked the stories, hated them and so systematically destroyed them on air.
      Henry was forced out of a job, and then he resigned because they were not being true to the source materials.
      The season is rushed because they rushed it. Whoever is funding this series has an agenda.
      Netflix released and promoted Cuties. There's another agenda right there ❤

    • @emberskelly4524
      @emberskelly4524 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@skyejacques I agree, I haven't read the books or played the games so to me it's a different feel when watching the show as a whole and this first half of the season. I don't think the writing is all away around bad, but the fifth episode was kind of weird with Yennefer and Geralt running around like amateur sleuths and then all the evidence being planted on Stregebor and everyone just simply accepting that he's the bad guy. That was pretty bad and extremely rushed.
      Literally went from 0 to 100 and after Vigefortz (I'm probably spelling names wrong) killed that mage in season 1 I googled him and found out he was bad. So I already knew he was a villain before season 2 even aired. I was hoping that they'd try to make this a bit more together even if they completely deviated from the storyline. At least for the sake of the actors and those who are completely new to the series, for entertainment.
      They made the 5th episode really ditsy and the only thing I enjoyed about it was Sabrina trying to entice Geralt(that was funny to me) everything else was really...puffed up to nothing. It's like a nicely wrapped present, on the outside it looks nice, but on the inside it's...meh.
      Hopefully the 2nd half is improved, even just by a small margin(because this is the last season with Henry.)
      After this season it's going to be a clusterfudge. I can't see Liam stepping in after three years of Henry being Geralt, even if he were the better actor it won't transition well and then there's the compatibility with the other actors and how that will translate on screen. I feel like it the show continues after season 3 that the 4th will be the last and the worst season, especially if they keep changing things and rushing what actually happens.
      Let the fans of the book, games, and just fans of fantasy/sci-fi shows take a breath to actually reel in what we're watching. Don't jump from place to place and back, don't skip over important storylines and details needed to weave everything together well.
      Sorry this was longer than what I was planning to type.

    They could have been a wonderful family...
    but after Geralt uses Ciri as monster bait and Yennefer tries to sell her to a demonic entity to get her magical powers back, the entire dynamic seems more like a toxic Stockholm syndrome living arrangement.
    Complete with Yennefer writing passive-aggressive letters to a guy who literally stands beside her and pinning them to the door instead of talking to him and calling Ciri 'ugly one' out of nowhere, let alone not defending her but only humiliating her further when her 'friends' insult or even assault her.
    Don't get me wrong, the scenes themselves are sweet, and without the context (or with the right context regarding the 'ugly one') they would be wonderful.
    But Netflix simply 'forgot' about their relationship in seasons one and two and now needed to rush it... and somehow expect the audience to forget what happened in the last season.

    Her true self , the girl that she was before she changed her body through magic .
    If thats the case ...they did a bad job showing it to us ,the audience .
    They could explain it indirectly .
    Yen wouldnt call Ciri ugly ...not for that reason at least .

      @phial871 Год назад +2

      Yen's reply is also taken from the book (Blood of Elves to be precise). Though I agree with you it hardly suits here. But only because Yen decided to show Ciri what she herself looked like before her transformation, so the 'ugly one' moniker can be interpreted here like nothing else than warm irony (like when you call someone in a mocking way while the person addressed can be absolutely sure you don't mean it for real) and the sincerity explanation hardly suits, unless Yen wants to show Ciri she regards her as a younger version of herself in many ways (maybe this is the case). Btw book's Yen in contrast to show's Yen is mean to Ciri for absolutely no reason, except for some weird and vaguely suggested jealousy related to Geralt, which is actually a pretty absurd attitude for a reportedly mature woman. So in this case show Yen > book Yen IMHO.

    The Witcher Season 3 Review☠️
    This wasn't good. As the show has tried to extend its scope and scale it's clear the people making it have a reach that far exceeds their grasp. Everything from pacing, structure, character work, and even the action set pieces feel like rushed first ideas hastily executed and cobbled together to meet a deadline rather than well-honed sequences, scripts, and scenes that have been toiled over and shaped with care and a firm vision for what the show is trying to convey. Plotholes, contrivances, wonky magic systems, empty mysteries, and modern self-aware dialogue are rife, and it feels like a show made out of obligation rather than passion and creative drive. It's such a shame, because while not perfect, the books are excellent, so some of the burden creatively shouldn't be as visible as it is in this show, but this need to do their own thing and sometimes vandalise beloved characters and story beats has only placed more pressure on writers and producers to deliver something they simply aren't capable of. The biggest issue for this season apart from the lack of coherent story telling. Is that they are trying to be something they are not. They are not Game of Thrones, they are not Lord of the rings Rings of Power. S1 opened the world of the Witcher. And by s3, I don't even know what I am watching. There is no focus, just long periods of side stories... boring, CGI is there just to be there. Writing has become lazy. You can see that they don't care about the source material. And you can see they try to add modern values to it... Which makes it even worse.
    There is a clear lack of understanding from the show runners to the writers room of what makes for competent storytelling. They had good source material, an amazing cast, and world class crew, yet somehow managed to fall into cliche traps (telling instead of showing, character narrating to rush the storytelling process, poor character development). It's like film school freshman read the book report of a failing middle schooler of the Witcher books, then attempted to make something and put their stamp on it rather than respecting the intelligence of their audience.
    season 3 character arcs & characterization of the Witcher is really bad. its a sad waste of time. they turn GERELT into a side character in his own show. his action scene are good but the show barely focuses on him , which really a shame because Gerelt is a captivating character as always. i thought the writers might have concentrated on his character more but as usual the Witcher writers are clueless. they turn Radovid into an annoying LEX LUTHER type of character from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. the writers turn Emhyr var Emreis, Deithwen Addan yn Carn aep Morvudd The White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies into an incredibly bland boring character. his dialog is the worst. its completely takes you out of the show. Radovid & Emhyr are two of greatest characters & antagonists in The Witcher franchise , [ books , games & anything else ] , so it's really stinks that these characters suck so bad in the show.
    if you know anything about BLOOD ORIGIN , then you know that Eredin Bréacc Glas the King of the Wild Hunt is kind of a weakling & really non-threatening so that a waste of an antagonist / villain so i don't have any hope of The Witcher tv show being a really cringe but entertaining tv show , but The Witcher tv show its just awful , i don't know how the writers of the show made Thanedd Coup so dull. uninteresting. boring. tedious. tiresome. they tried to make this entire season into GAME OF THRONE lite , it barely resembles Thanedd Coup. As for YENNEFER , she failed to apologize in any meaningful & significance way to GERALT or Cirilla for releasing discount baba Yaga , taking CIRI to cintra to be possessed , YENNEFER doesn't show any guilt for the Witchers who died in KAER MORHEN or anything. YENNEFER does try to shallowly & half-heartedly apologize to GERALT for maybe a couple minutes in one episode if you add the total up but it lacks substance & any type of conviction at all. As for YENNEFER apologizing to CIRI for taking advantage of her trust & getting her possessed , they have a one minute conversation about it. I'm honestly not sure because it went by so fast that I can't even say that's what the conversation was about. Then the writers just hand wave the situation & nobody brings it up again period. As for YENNEFER actions in relation to the plot season 3 , it was established in almost the whole franchise that YENNEFER doesn't care for politics [ in the games YENNEFER only cares in relation to saving other people, in the books YENNEFER is not that good at politics & you get the gist that among the mages of the north Philippa Eilhart & Vilgefortz are excellent at politics by comparison to YENNEFER & she only cares in relation to her magic school or saving someone , even in season one of the show's YENNEFER leaves politics behind her early. So because season 3 focuses on a GAME OF THRONE LITE version of Thanedd Coup YENNEFER character really suffered from the bad writing especially after her character assassination characterization of season 2. YENNEFER costumes are terrible in season 3. its laughable. Philippa Eilhart & Dijkstra were underutilized & don't live up to their characters at all. Vilgefortz is decent but he's going to be the most unsurprising surprise villain ever because the writers have been dropping really unsubtle hints since season one. Vilgefortz killing the mage in season 1 & interrogating Tisseia about CIRI in season 2 gave the surprise away.
    as for CIRILLA , she's good but she's only half as endearing , charming , engaging & cool as her counterparts in the books & games. I like her a lot & her relationship with GERALT is nice , even if I consider it diminished by all wasted potential opportunities of season 1 & 2. The writers do this really annoying thing with her character where they write themselves into a corner so CIRI will constantly get caught by any & everyone after her , even after GERALT & YENNEFER tell her constantly & repeatedly to be careful & stay safe. It gets irritating after a while. CIRI trains with magic & different ways of fighting for a bit but its so so to me because she gets interrupted repeatedly so I don't think of her as a great fighter. A good one but not outstanding. A problem with her character is that the writers are trying to portray her as a great physical fighter instead of a person who uses agility , flexibility, magic sword menship to kick ass & Freya Allen looks thin & tall , in other words not a strong physical fighter. The other critique I have about CIRI is that in season 3 she's just there , she doesn't really do anything plot wise , CIRI is like the Infinity Stones in Avengers Infinity War an important element of the plot but she's inertia in her actions in the show. Hopefully she does something by the end of season 3.
    Let's say these 5 episodes have more books stuff than the previous season, but still not enough to call it an adaptation, they just quote the books while they play their horrendous fun fiction, it's boring, bad though, full of inconsistencies, plot holes, and bad dialogues. I'm not interested in watching more of the Swicher. I wouldn't mind if they actually made improvements on the source material but all the so called improvements were even worse than fanfiction. So I'm not interested in Lauren's terrible writing & directing. Besides people have read the article from the CGI &VFX artists , everyone knows she is not adapting the books for Season 3. Lauren is writing something never before seen in the books & the games. So anything Lauren says about following the books is just more lies. People watching Season 3 of the Swicher will just encourage these Netflix Morons to produce more of this trash. I'm not watching the CIRI & YENNEFER show.
    So if you haven't seen it yet , save yourself from the suffering , if you have seen it. tell me what you think

      Lmao. Nobody truly watched season 3. Most people stopped because it's so boring 😴. Swicher season is based on season 8 of Game of Thrones.

      @@sofieruquiba1190 lol Switcher. Its the witcher. And if it boring then so is the books. Game Thrones season 8 so bad. And Ciri is the main character.

      @fredrico665 I can't tell if you are joking. But trust me , what you said is funny 😁. Cirilla & Yennefer Are barely in the books & the games compared to GERALT. So the Swicher doesn't have to do with the Witcher. It's bait and switch. Geralt is in the 8 hour season 3 for only an hour. This is why nobody watched it.
