  • It's Friday night and we need to get the head gasket done on this 4.0L inline 6. Will we get it done? Will the engine run again? Well I've never done a head gasket myself so wish me luck!

    After you do one head gasket, your training is complete! The force is with you.

    my 2 cents... don't push your luck. She runs well, some fella will buy it and enjoy it. I would just park it. But that's me.
    Thanks again for another awesome video. Cant wait for the Gladiator mods and just enjoyment!
    Cheers!

    Are you letting the potential buyer you know you are on youtube? If not leaving Big Bird on the hood makes it very easy to find. Wish you the best she has been a great Jeep to learn on. Looking forward to the next one!

    Great job on the diagnosis of head gasket between cylinders. Must have felt great to know you opened for that exact spot.

    A bike build would be interesting but be careful. I'm sure you're more experienced but I just watched a video from Joe Robinette where he went for a rip around the block and ended up in a coma for 3 weeks.. I've had several friends severely injured or die on bikes, as much fun as they are it's risky business.

      I agree. I’ve Been riding for 10 years myself so I’ve seen a lot of people I know either get hurt or pass away so I’m always riding like everyone is out to kill you and it makes you a lot more aware. Not saying things can’t happen but you need to be very aware when riding.

    Bittersweet, but I’ve been there myself. You might regret it later, but you might never own that house\property if you keep fixing it. No sense in being +50k into this Jeep and not having your own place to park it when it’s fucked

    Glad big bird is running good now, so yea sell it don't send it. Teflon tape is a lubricant not a sealant which is likely why that bolt has a reduced torque value also did I miss something, no oil on the head bolts or did they come pre-lubed? Yeh the newer jeeps are nice, but they still can break and when they do you need deeper pockets to fix them compared to the older ones, but as long as one has money like you do I guess that's not a problem. There is an aluminum oil cooler for the 3.6 engine and a pressure unit to prevent dry starts for the cams and you may also wish to tie wire those bolts under the front of the cams; some people use Loctite but I myself would drill the bolt heads and tie wire them. Check out the RUclips videos on them. Now quit f***en around and get out there and make some more videos. Justine is probably bored out of her mind sitting around the apartment while you are playing mechanic. LOL

    I really hope you get a motorcycle. I started watching when you had the SV650. I still like the Jeep videos but the motorcycle content is why I started watching. Please get a bike and do bike videos.

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  4 дня назад +1

      Yeah, but the reason I stopped making those is because if you don’t have any mods to do, what do you do just drive around and comment on the squirrels that you see?

      @@SmokinMonkeyOG Motorcycle vids are the same as cars. Vlogs. Mods. Rides etc... I love your jeep content. But motorcycle stuff is why I subscribed originally. I'd like to see you do more motorcycle content. Either way, I will still watch. But for me, I am more interested in 2 wheeled content. That's just me though. You do whatever your passion is in. I still watch and subscribe.

    Brother, been watching your channel for time. I think ur making a big mistake selling the tj. I get its been a pain in the ass spending money on constant repairs but I think you need to chill on it for a bit longer. Its the staple of your whole channel. The Gladiator will never be as capable as a tj or short wheelbase jeep in Ontario. Timber 1 for example one of the toughest trails in ontario will cause damage to a longer wheelbase jeep. You gotta build it right the first time. Save some money, source parts from junkyards and build the TJ strong to handle the tougher trails we have here. Gearing alone will take stress off the motor and trans/tcase. Beefier axles although expensive at first will save you money long term from constant repair. Lockers will save your whole drivetrain belive it or not because you dont need as much skinny pedal too overcome obstacles, also opens up a whole lot of new trails for you. You never sell your first jeep bro it stays with you and becomes a trail rig for years to come! The JT is a capable rig out the box. Rubicon too? Use that as your DD/camping/overlandind rig and save it from body damage. Ive been watching your channel for time I think you would really benifit from building the TJ it opens up new trails and new content for your channel. Ontario needs this kind of exposure for 4wd as we have so many sick trails that not many know about. Keep it up brother ✊

      Funny thing is nobody even watches the TJ videos anymore and I don’t really enjoy driving the thing either so it seems like I’m wasting my time and money

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  4 дня назад

      I’ve already dropped over 40k into it. Unless the rest of the parts are donated I’m not sinking any more money into it

    Hahaha yeah.. Goddy Gilmore. It's very rarely I'll watch anything from these big name 1m+ sub guys because it's all screeching and ADHD attention span type stuff. Decided to watch a few of his and I couldn't believe the amount of sheeple saying "thank you so much for making car tech clear and simple" bla bla bla.. meanwhile some dude that has an 8 part 1 hour video each on how to redo a bottom end on a 308 has about 10k subs and 3,000 views after several years.
