    I'm actually really loving this podcast. I try to find stuff to listen to as a delivery driver who spends 10-12 hours a day on a truck and MOST pods just ramble with no direction and I get bored quick. You have the pacing down and don't stick too long on a topic and keep it interesting. I will definitely buy a shirt to support the brand and hopefully be on the podcast one day when I grow a little more!

    RK is on point about about the B58 vs 2J. The 2J might have a higher *guaranteed* cap on horse power, but if you are just shooting for 1000ish horsepower you will spend over triple the amount of money(the car is going to sit at the shop for a decade and your going to lose every creature comfort) than you would on a B58 where you get to keep you get to keep your money, time, and comfort.

    Driving sims are great for getting all the skills for drifting and stuff. I drove a sim with no feedback, it was 100 bucks on Amazon. When I got my mustang 2 years ago at 16 years old, of course I immediately started drifting it. And it was super easy, it’s a manual, and I no joke took longer to learn driving manual than I did to begin drifting it once I tried. I think not having any feedback on the sim taught me how to use my vision and just predict when the rear end is going to come out (mustang is 800hp now so it spins). Def would’ve crashed if I hadn’t started with a sim.
    Edit: my mustang can dump the clutch in third, hit redline, then skip 4th right to 5th, it’ll have the the front tires going 15mph and the rears going 120+. Just for reference

    Just found your channel this week.. been watching content non stop all week.. at work, at home, in the truck… car community isn’t as strong as it was 10-20 years ago.. but you are truthfully like the Joe Rogan of the car community. The way you do these it’s a very similar style and just as captivating..
    If this existed years ago you’d be 2-3mil followers easy.. I think what you are doing is very good for the car community in terms of bringing interest back to cars for today’s youth..
    The one thing you’re going to have to figure out is how to do this and find a way to get your content onto 11-21yo kids otherwise we are eventually going to die out to electrics🤦‍♂️
    Fast cars, loud stereos.. all that is almost gone anymore.. I have a 17yo kid.. kids today don’t do or are interested or even know about these things that we all grew up on.. I watch my 11yo son on RUclips all the time.. he’s watching gaming channels for games he doesn’t even play or wants to play.. when I was 11 I had my own subscriptions to compact car mag, street timer mag, crutchfield, etc..
    Love what you’ve talked about with Reef and doing events yourselves and such.. that is going to be huge! We need more like this! Keep working man.. all of us that love cars need people like you to keep this going

    What we use to do back in the day early 2000s is if they wanted cluster, oem alarm system, and a/c we would run the stock ecu and a standalone and let the stock one control all the gauges, sensors, etc, and let the standa alone control drivetrain with it's own sensors close to the oem ones to get closest readings the same.

    I have never tuned an engine and even barely worked on one, but I am an engineering student and it's so refreshing to hear one of the best tuners in the game confirm what I've been saying eversince the Mk5 Supra came out: B58 is a better motor than 2JZ, however 2JZ can make more power easier after 1k hp. For me the only reasons the 2JZ is capable of doing 2k+ hp are that it's a 34 year old motor, so there was more time to develop it and also the hype around the FF movies. I am 99% sure that the B58 will be putting down 2k+ hp in 10 years time.

    Love the S55 and S58 motors, I’ve had both. I still prefer the S58 over the S55. Most people will not go above 600/700 ish whp. The stock S55 motor has a crank hub flaw, top mount I/C leak issue and the plastic charge pipes and J pipe eventually crack. None of that on an S58.

    • @eddie8619
      @eddie8619 11 месяцев назад +3

      Yea stock for stock I also believe s58 is better. I believe hes saying once heavily modded (1k horsepower range), it seems like the s55 will have fewer problems than the s58, hence why its the better engineered engine. Everything you mentioned gets fixed after its modified.

    • @F82_
      @F82_ 11 месяцев назад +1

      I have an s55 but s58 is a better platform. S58 suffers from the intake manifold separating and charge pipes as well when running higher boost

    • @phillie9284
      @phillie9284 4 месяца назад +1

      I’m a heavy equipment technician by trade and I own both platforms S55 and S58. On paper the S58 might seem like a better engine, but as a technician the S55 is a way better engine to work on. The crank hub issue is really not that big of a deal, yes there are failures which are rare. I work on diesel engine that make over a 1000 ft lbs of torque that have a similar crank hub design. As for the I/C and charge pipe those are relatively easy upgrades and unlike on the S58 if that cooler leaks you have to replace the complete intake manifold. The engine oil thermostat looks like a nightmare to replace. On the S55 it takes about an hour. Also if you need to do any timing work done on a S58, you need to drop the transmission since all the cam gears, timing chain are on the rear of the engine. I can’t speak for all the high horsepower stuff since both my cars are only slightly modified, but if what Jordan is saying is true then it’s an all around win for the S55.

    Keep doing your thing with these podcasts! But I’d suggest you learn more about cars and get more into the car scene so these intercut even better!
