47:30 from talking to guys who have 24's, Ford learned that by putting the heat extractor in the middle and adding the second intake and throttle body, It brings inlet temps down to where they should be.. Like if it's 90 outside you will see 105 to 110 inlet temps on the earlier gen's Sometimes even higher than that.. But on the 24's with the new set up, it keeps the inlet temps at 90/92. Or close to whatever the real temp is outside.....
The real reason why you see mustangs plowing into crows is the exact thing that the interview is about. That is, mustangs are the cheapest (relatively speaking) pony car that will make the most power with the least amount of money in mods. Meaning, 25-30k for a used car + about 12k in mods = 800+rwhp. If you want to cheap out? 8k in mods = 650-700whp. So, guys coming from the 4cyl or even some 6cyl cars see that and boom they buy it, can't handle it and crash. If you don't know how to drive and most importantly do not respect the car then you'll have a bad day. Also, the advance trac on these cars does suck! First time listener, great content! 👍
The real reason why is because of not investing into proper suspension mods and tires. THAT is what gets neglected on this platform by most owners who only shoot for big power. Big difference in going sideways when you accelerate with a lot of power vs going straight like an arrow with proper suspension and tires.
46:20 I've watched this a ton of times because I have a Gen 2 and I love this video.. But the reason I stopped it here was to make a point.. I see guys boost their cars and they go for the moon instead of doing a stage 1 650/675 wheel or a stage 2 with 750 to 775 wheel safely and their cars last.. But then you have the 1000 plus wheel guys and their cars are down broken once to 2 x's a year.. For me the stage 1 650/700 wheel is going to be the way to go as it is at that kind of power, you have to start saving for a trans weather it's a Built MT82, or 10 speed, the 6 speed auto's tend to do a little better. Anyway my point is once you go past stage 1 Whipple for example the money snowballs fast. Shifter, drive shaft clutch or clutches, HD half shafts and so on, it's the supporting mods that get you.. The HD Green belt and pulleys are like $2200 just that...
Would love to see more content of things other than having the most power or who's the fastest. Maybe some drifters or rally guys would be dope. Just would like some all around car content
This guy was running an MT-82 this whole time. I kept thinking he had already done a tremec by now. But impressive. I’m scared to boost my 5.0 just for the trans.
It’s crazy how much misconception there is around the mt82 and tremec 3160. Automotive journalists are mostly responsible because they only test cars in stock form. Also they test drive cars for a short time and don’t dive into the true issues or own them to go through the entire experience of ownership yet they state which is better and spread the word to the masses. The tremec shifts smoother and feels better than the mt82 stock for stock so they will tell you the tremec is a better trans overall. However the real problem with the mt82 is the stock clutch. It prevents you from shifting at high rpm because it cannot disengage. Everytime this happens you have the driver usually trying to jam it into gear putting a lot of strain on the shift forks most likely breaking them. Then the mt82 gets blamed for having weak shift forks, when the clutch is the problem the whole time preventing the shift. Once you upgrade the clutch (McLeod, or Mantic twin disk) it allows it to shift perfectly. An aftermarket shifter is not even necessary nor the biggest problem but is commonly blamed as well. It will improve the notchiness feel for sure and when paired with a clutch the mt82 feels equal to the tremec. I think the stock clutch is also overlooked because it will hold plenty of power 700+ without slipping, however disengaging at high rpm is the problem. Also a lot of people are not willing to pull the trans to change the clutch or pay a shop to do so. The mt82 actually has a stronger gearset than the 3160 so for a boosted application when set up correctly, the mt82 is actually a better option imo. I have been running a 2019 gen 3 mt82 at 820whp since November of 2018 without a single issue.
@@braxtonbowers4154don’t me a 3160 I mean the T-56. One of the guys from Lund says they blow the bell housing quite a bit just guys are ashamed to say they have a 60k plus mustang with a similarly weak trans. But I have heard with the right clutch the mt-82 is stronger. I will say in my experience the shifter, stainless line, and making sure there is no air in the hydronic system is very important. My throwout bearing went out and I went back to a new stock everything except the shifter and line and I don’t regret it. As long as I warm up the car and warm up 2nd gear everything is smooth and I redline at stock redline all the time no problems. But if you don’t have a built trans it’s like the lottery. You might get a really good one or a really bad one. I’ve kept my car because even with my problems after I sealed everything all my gearing has been good and it’s smooth once warm. Also depends what trans oil works for yours BG worked for mine with the additive. I say all of this from having problems and learning and sticking to the platform. But I’m the first to say Ford should and can do better. We have to make them do better because if not we just keep accepting it and getting crap. And don’t get me wrong I love my car every time I drive it and like this guy will not buy an auto. Like a $36k Roush with 20k miles was put in front of me and I didn’t want it because it was a 10 speed. I’ve driven one stock and it drove me insane. I like shifting my own gear. But you decently need a good twin disk once you boost. Personally I want to stay NA because it’s fast enough for me and I want to keep the car for life. Maybe later in life.
@@braxtonbowers4154also on the 18-19 they are weaker. They are aluminum. 15-17 not much stronger but I had a guy with an ecoboost break them in the first year of ownership. Brand new car. That has scared be from buying anything after 18 and a few other weird choices from ford. But if they made a billet belly pan, stronger forks, better trans gearing I’d be swapping to one for the better quality of everything.

OMG lol, he is so right about the on and off ramps especially the concrete ones.. You don't want to be in second gear laying into it unless you are on some good tires and not such a hard bend.. Don't get me wrong my 17 Performance Pack handles great for not being a Mach 1 with magnaride.. A lot of GT owners don't realise the added handling and stiffness the PP1 gives the car.. And there's Premium Packs which are different that's usually heat leather and cooled seats bigger screen and more creature features but they don't have any of the Performance stuff... I have also seen performance and premium pack GT's too.. They can be optioned pretty much how you want these days.. Save the manuals..
The gen 4 coyote bottom end is different from other coyotes. The cylinders have been reinforced with a small piece of metal in the middle of the coolant passage. The oil pump gears are belt driven. That’s the only differences I have seen.
I'm in south Jersey and I wish I could find a shop like his closer to me.. I'd love to live down the street from someone like this.. But leading back to auto's/AWD vs manuals .. It's not even fair anymore.. I know I am a way better driver than 90% of the people on the road just based off of all the different trucks and cars I've driven. And it sucks when some guy, foot to the floor holding the wheel straight whips my ass in a slower car all while I'm laying down perfect shifts.. IDK nothing is funner than rowing your own gears to me..
It is awesome to see street cars drag racing and all that coming back in the 90s and 2000s street cars racing was big and then it seem like it died down for years. There’s nothing but a big lifted trucks everywhere and now you’re seeing the big lift trucks go away is it Paul Street cars dragracing now it’s nice to see it back on the streets
If I am not mistaken, Whipple and roots blowers are two different styles of power adder. Root are you traditional styles, lie your 6-71, 8-71, and 14-71 blower that use a propeller style blade and usually very large to the point it stick out of most hoods. Whipple is a twin screw blower that it more modern and doesn't have as much drag on the engine and is much lower profile which granted why it doesn't stick through the hood most of the time. Roots also make a lot of heat and are usually not able to make as much boost.
@5.0pooh69 Yea they do but they are twin screw blower which are better then roots blowers. The guy in vid said that they are all roots blower which they aren't
53:38 Brett Lasala is NOT running a factory sleeve. He has a predator block that's been sleeved, and has a half fill. And that is the nail in the coffin for the Coyote VS LS debate. The coyote block itself is the limiter. And that's ignoring the fact that most off the shelf pistons will collapse at high power if you keep a block alive past 1000whp. A predator block is not chump change. Add in sleeves and the half fill (really need to have someone who knows what they're doing because the epoxy is proprietary to that process, and is very hard to get these days) and you are looking at a lot of money. Meanwhile, GM came out with the l8t... Which has a factory crank that's been shown to hold over 2000hp, but also a totally factory iron block that can also hold over 2000hp. Not to mention, there are factory ls3's (just has cam and valvesprings), stock bottom end, stock heads, head studs and that's it, running drag week events. Making 1200hp. Richard holdner shown he can make 1450-1500 on a stock bottom end 6.0. Thing is the guys who don't wrench themselves never see this kind of stuff, because there's nobody who can stand around and SELL a stock block to them. You have to go looking for the info and the knowledge.
Right...but your talking about a platform that's been around since 97... Vs 2011. That fact that it's catching up so fast being aluminum stock casting at 302 ci vs some wild 427 ci. Ford just showed the werewolf iron coyote block that can go up to a 5.6 or 347ci.... All in due time as anything else with R/D and money spent.
where did you find the info for half fill? from what I heard from Brett is that its a sleeved stock aluminum predator block (no mention of a fill) with manley pistons, manley aluminum rods , factory ford crankshaft, ported 350 heads which allows it to make 2500 whp... in aluminum block with sleeves thats still fully wet decked. I dont know to much information on the GM engines besides there not as efficient as the coyote. Do you have a source where you found this information from a reliable GM source. Brett Lasala stating whats done to engine: ruclips.net/video/_Sg-0NRwdeo/видео.htmlsi=JvKJez7NpPHDWrgy
There's no half fill it's stock sleeved predator.oe stock crank.gt350 ported heads. With upgraded internals! And there's no ls/lt that can do that power reliably with similar mods as Brett's setup (+2800 whp)

Reason a roots blower is more effective a power vs a centrifugal supercharger is not because RPM. Not all boost is the same, roots blower provides massive amount of volume and thus more air density, also it’s right there and does not have to travel far. Pro chargers have to wind out because they have to push that volume with more speed, similar to a turbo. They all have their sweet spots and applications. An engine that winds out high in rpm range prefers a turbo because as long as the turbo is spected out correctly, it won’t out flow the engine.
S550’s aren’t known to lose control…I think they finally made a chassis that doesn’t get upset as easily as the past live rear axle cars & from my experience everything stays turned off instead of how the old ones would reenable itself without your knowledge
I don't understand how many times it needs to be said but it should be common knowledge by now that positive displacement superchargers i.e. roots and screw-type blowers are for street driving and centrifugal are meant for the track unless the centrifugal has a big pulley on it and shooting like 6 to 8 lb of boost where it'll kick in much quicker

Im running Twins on my gen 1 coyote with a MT-82 750whp no issues.............. its been about 2 years
@@Black_Star_Raceryea I’ve heard of some people getting lucky on stock everything and never having a problems. One of those factory freaks maybe. The driver is also super important. Always hear of those people that had a stock clutch for over 100k miles.
This guy seems the coolest humblest dude.....

Fire interview. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I got a 14 mt82 with a 76/75 and a little shot of dope pretty badass setup
Def. A great podcast.
Thinking about going from my 5.8 4v TT build to a coyote platform 🧐.
I see tukes organizing a side off hustle to get the fastest of the fastest to race and name them the actual street alphas like some type of track and make it some what like street racing oriented 😮😂
Man dropped some knowledge . 💯🤙🏾.
This eas a great podcast, ive learned a lot about Coyotes listening to it. I was also reminded that I'm broke af😂
The gen 4 coyote bottom end is different from other coyotes. The cylinders have been reinforced with a small piece of metal in the middle of the coolant passage. The oil pump gears are belt driven. That’s the only differences I have seen.
Fire podcast!
watching from tennessee! love your content keep shining
The clip of that 80s Toyota starlet keeping up with that mustang is wild. 😅
Good interview. It is always interesting watching younger guys talk about cars
Whipple make big power on a yote platform
@5.0pooh69 Yea they do but they are twin screw blower which are better then roots blowers. The guy in vid said that they are all roots blower which they aren't
Please do a pod on the vetts!! I need more info on the c6+7 platforms. 🙏🙏🙏
Very informative 🙏
19:20 isn't a Whipple a screw blower and not a Roots?
Hellhorse 1600hp twin turbo stock also 5.4 coyote maybe the next gt500 and a Godzilla 6.5 also a possible plant
Dark horse mustang. There are stronger camshafts, a better-balanced crankshaft, plus forged connecting rods and con-rod bearings from the Shelby GT500.
darkhorses getting gapped already lol 80000 car lol
Yeah I'm sure all cars looses races or get gapped. I'm enjoying my Dark Horse. It's dope ride for me. People love it where I'm from. People have taken pics an filming me driving on the hwy. I paid 60grd for mind yes I agree over priced alil. But if you want to play you have pay. Enjoy your life bro why you have it...

Love this episode 👌🔥🔥
We want a part 2 asap 😂‼️
Divided housing works to separate exhaust pulses so they dont interfere with each other
Ain't no way they get anyone on the Lund camp in here talking about Coyotes. I'd be super surprised if this channel would.
If gen 2 in King I wonder wear the “Roadrunner” Boss 302 lands
Boss 302 is a continuation of the that engine. So the Boss 302 is actually King Daddy
On top of
They are still doing pump gears on the 24's too..
Can we get some Lexus guys on the podcast tookes?
It's like listening to two amateur magazine racers that pulled out of stomach catalog and started breaking out their horsepower calculator
me casually trying to ignore the mustang revving in the back at 37min-40
Does coyote house not have a yt?
Loved this video
Reason a roots blower is more effective a power vs a centrifugal supercharger is not because RPM. Not all boost is the same, roots blower provides massive amount of volume and thus more air density, also it’s right there and does not have to travel far. Pro chargers have to wind out because they have to push that volume with more speed, similar to a turbo. They all have their sweet spots and applications. An engine that winds out high in rpm range prefers a turbo because as long as the turbo is spected out correctly, it won’t out flow the engine.
Who says “I’ll get my shit pushed in”? Lol 😂
Gotta restock on those small hoodies bro. We need em
This pod was to advanced for me where should I start?
I was gonna buy a m2 or g82 but this man is selling me on a damn coyote 😂
Downpipe n e85 tune your cracking in the 9s with the g8x series with traction good luck getting the power down in a mustang.
Either u want luxury speed or raw speed, your choice
Coyote Ford power forever baby the best of the best never rest they just keep getting better
S550’s aren’t known to lose control…I think they finally made a chassis that doesn’t get upset as easily as the past live rear axle cars & from my experience everything stays turned off instead of how the old ones would reenable itself without your knowledge
We got tons of coyote mustangs in houston going 7s even f150s bottom 8s. Come down to h town and interview midnight performance.
Gotta respect ford man foreal..I still can't believe yall didn't talk about super snakes those things are something else
Watching from San Francisco!
There's a lot that wasn't covered in here that i wish had been covered there's quit a bit about centris, and engines, whipple options, etc.
I’m one of the guy who got the 2010 😂😂😂😂
I’m just learning about this world, this don’t even sound like English to me lol -running a geni v8 5.0 r spec
Yo I have 2017 vs s550 what should i do to add power fr fr ?
