@@NORTHWESTKNIFEGUY im okay, just moved into a appartment now. Having my son for a couple of days really really helps. Just put him to sleep now. The worst about it all when leaving each other is seeing it affecting your kid. Economy is another thing i can forget about stones or blades for a while. But as long as i see my son happy im happy myself 🙂
@@knifesharpeningnorway Yeah it's tough but at least you're still able to see him. I think most economies are suffering right now but hopefully down the road will improve.
awesome , thanks for sharing. i do like small fixed blades . i have just bought a rockstead higo 2 and will never try to sharpen it. i doubt i will need to to be honest but if i do it goes back to japan for a free sharpen. BUT they do reccomend stropping once in a while. one you tube guy said he uses a 1 microm diamond compound on a leather strop. can you recommend me an awesome leather strop fit for a beautiful rockstead ? i will have to be very careful though not to scuff the mirror finish.👊👊
@@ianleicester7066 Not sure where to get over there however if you can't find any lmk, I can make you a strop however you like and also have diamond sprays from 0.25 on up.
hey again buddy , i've bought some 3mm veg tan leather and am going to get some planed walnut offcuts. where can i buy ken schwartz 1.0 micron diamond emulsion/spray ? i cannot find any anywhere and his website doesn't seem to appear when i google it . hope your well ? kind regards ian.
Before magnacut appeared 4v was the best most balanced steel.. It my favourite honestly.. Durable, Mirror polished doesnt rust at all, edge holds great and even at 64-65hrc wont chip...
hey buddy , hope all is well ? i've decided to make a new strop. i am actually going to use some 5mm thick stainless steel , it is soooooo flat , a bit heavy doesn't bother me. i,ve chose this because a lot of folk use stiff bass wood etc. do you use glue/impacy adhesive or double sided sticky tape ? i like the idea od double sided tape but would like recommendations , kind regards ian uk.
@@ianleicester7066 Good double sided tape will normally hold just fine unless using something like thick veg tan equine/horse hide that can tend to twist do to it's tight grain. Contact cement is normally best overall imo.

So you're mounting basswood on stainless?
