It sounds amazing and it works alot for any type of music and amazing fg800 fs820 fg830 or any cost or even regular standard or other awesome and perfect sound
I have an FG800. It seemed nice at the beginning when I knew nothing about guitars. A year or two later I noticed that it was kind of boomy on the bass side, and read a comment stating the same problem. Also, the neck is not comfortable, perhaps for me. But certainly it's better than cheap, laminated-deck guitars.
Guess I'm one o those Bluegrass guys you were referring to. Big problem is Guitar Center in Ft Worth Tx us SOLD OUT!!! My son was one of the buyers who helpled deplete the FG830. Tried to buy his. He sez NO WAY Pop. Returned to GC and looked at a FG800. Not shabby at all. Kinda liked the no pickup feature BG pickers don't use pickups. Going toG C today to pick a FG800 up. BTW FG700 is not available
question for guitar center ??? Yamaha 830, how did u guys get it to sound that good ??? curious what kinda Mic, and if a bone saddle and bone nut was put on ???

"Thin and tinny" is Yamaha's signature acoustic guitar sound.
Absolutely not. And that is coming from a Martin, Lakewood, Seagull, Yairi and Yamaha owner.
