Hi. I heard that adjustments should be made while the grinder is runnig. I didn’t know that and I turned the knob from finest to the mid point a few times. Is there a possibility that I damaged the grinder?
So basically you push it all the way to the end until the burrs touch? And then go back 3 clicks? How much is the extraction time now compared to before? I get 17 seconds now at finest knob setting
About tuning grinder - you are right. About extraction - such thing in automatic coffee machines is questionable - because you can extract any time that you want (just set new water level for button “espresso” or “americano” or any over. So 17 seconds can mean any cup volume, differ from grind size. My personal opinion - coffee machine can make about 70-100ml of nice coffee, other volumes are strange and not pleasant taste. Of course these numbers can vary from machine to machine
Is there a way to adjust the amount of beans that the grinder grinds? Mine it only grinds for 3 seconds and seems like only 1/4 of the amount of coffee required for a shot. Coffee tastes watery and weak. Wondering if there is an adjustment on the grinder for a longer grind
We can only help machine to adjust more coffee grind time - but not to command such adjustment. So, first make full repair of brew unit ( hardly moving brew unit - advices to machine to grind less because it full of coffee (machine understand such)). Secondly - clear grinder inside and add new lubricant to moving metall parts of grinder. So our grinder can grind more because all it power will be send on grinding, but not on moving parts of grinder). Thirdly-to lubricant all plastic gears of brew unit motor
Hello. If question - how to replace ceramics burrs on Saeco grinders - than I got answer ))) To disattach burss - just turn them anti-clockwise on small degree (think about 10 degrees enough). Bottom burr will disattached easily, but for replace top one - you must clean 3 hols from up and down of Top burrs holder (in these holes - there is 3 ears of burrs, that holds it inside black ring with tooth)
Good afternoon I have a saecco incanto HD8914/01 when I look at the coffee disposal tank it is coarsely ground very different from the coffee powder which is finely ground. The selector is already on the finer grind option. The coffee is drinkable, full-bodied. As far as I can tell from your video, you only cleaned the coffee residue that remained in the grinder.
Not quite understood your question. Re-setting coffee grinder regulator shaft (a yellow one mainly, but can be a black one) - is very easy task. But before we need to clean grinder from all coffee particles inside grinding chamber of grinder. That’s all that this video about.
@@OlegPC my question is that when i look at the coffe that was grinded even on the lowest setting (finest) still is corser than the pre-grinded coffe that i buy on the market. My shaft is black.
@@paulogracaribeiro2931 Your grinder is new version. But newest version is the cheapest one - so it’s not a miracle it’s grinds worse. Todays Saeco/Philips makes really as much as cheap as possible all parts of machine - the grinders too.
Hello thankyou for this video.. after making this adjustment, at what position should the knob adjuster be installed? Should it be installed so that once all the covers are installed, the dot is pointing to the smallest coffee bean size with no more fine adjustment - to prevent damage? Or is it OK to adjust a bit finer? OR is x3 gear teeth out maximum finest?
Hello. When you adjust grinder to closest grind stones position on doesn’t working grinder - always possible to regulate grinder even finer on working grinder. A think, after adjusting to most finer position, when you start your grinder (making cup of coffee) , you can make 3 clicks (approximately) finer grinds without damaging you grinder. Of course you must check yourself by hearing noise of working grinder - if you hears hard and slow work of motor - it signals that you at finest grind size position.
Hi there again. may i know if this grinder adjustment works for my Philips automatic. i know it uses the same Saeco grinder but it does not require a screw key to turn the adjustments
Hope you can help. I have a Saeco Spidem that is about 12 years old. We cleaned the gears and now the grind is very course. The "pucks" are watery and not well formed. This, of course, makes the coffee not the best and uses a lot of coffee beans. I have adjusted the grind to the finest using the knob while it was grinding and it did not make any difference. Please help!
Hello. Try to re-assemble grinder - something incorrect. Maybe top burr holder doesn’t fit inside ring-regulator with holes. Maybe these ring-regulator get some lift from one side (with time - it’s holding ears - wear out a little). So - just watch your grinder closely and try to understand - what’s wrong
@goterrapro5003 I have the same issue with my coffee grinder, after I cleaned the grinder even if I set the finest level the pucks are wet and not well formed. Did you finally solve this issue?
@@sebicarhat Wet coffee pack can be caused by many reasons - by brewing unit, by water connector 421946011491 (or over variations of these unit) ; by small coffee portion ( wrong program correction of grinder time) - will readjust correctly if other parts ( Brew unit, Water inlet, Brewing gears) will be renewed or repaired
Hello. It’s just simple action - just turn grind stones anti-clockwise (if I right). When you look closely to holder of bottom grind you will guess (by holes inside holder) that turn you need to do to release grind stone. This rule is acceptable to top grind stone holder.
Thank you for the video man! is it possible for you to produce a video to show us how fine is the grind now? maybe can take a look at the coffee grounds after extraction - the puck
With this question - there is a difference between results of grinding from grinders with different work times (portions of coffee). So , in general, grind size must be much smaller than sugar particles. About 2-3 times.
This is ,usually, no problem. If you can find “just now” discarded coffeemaker - about 50% chance it will be or “ok” or need only clean, or chip repair needed. Biggest problem - find it before “garbage mafia” takes it. They sort “electronic” units and sell to the foreigners ( mostly from Ukraine, Belorussian, russian)
