- Having used the Festool CSCSYS50 cordless sliding table saw a bit more I realise that I really need to get it off the benches and onto a small cabinet, so I banged out a quick MDF box from whatever scraps and mis-matched offcuts I had to hand, all held together with loose tenons using the latest 10MW Loose Tenon Jig, the LTJ 30 - out very soon.

Festool, Festool CSCSYS50, CSCSYS50, Festool Saw, Festool 18v saw,
It’s been said before Peter, but worth repeating, what you do in minutes takes us mortals days, excellent pal.
Vacuuming a vacuum with the vacuum. For some reason I find that quite satisfying when I do it in my shop. 😊
😆👍
That man knows his way round a carcass.
🤔 undertaker 🎉
Not my first time, no. 😂👍
That man!?
Thy shall be referred to as Sir Peter Millard!… or Master P if you like 👍🏾
V4 of that thing will be great!
I see a regretful purchase coming up :(
Your idea to put the vacuum under the saw - genius! You’ve just saved me some workshop space - thanks!!!
I vacuum my vacuum all the time. 😊 nice job
Such an awesome workshop. I'm always amazed at the incredibly efficient use of space!
Thank you! 👍
So I bought the FT Table saw and I like it’s precision and ease of use. The BT gig is a pain but I’ll eventually have a dedicated mini for it. I do wish it had the capacity for a plug-in but the batteries are serving my purposes well. Thanks for the tips!
У меня мечта -такая мастерская как у вас ❤ очень рад за вас и ваши возможности время проведённые в мастерской с душой😊 и в кайф
Лайк и подписка, слежу за вашими успехами, а я только в начале моего пути
When the vacuum is disconnected from power and loses the bluetooth connection you should be able to pair it from the table saw itself. That's how it is with the cordless miter saw. You hit the bluetooth button on the vacuum and wait for the light to flash then start the saw and it should connect.
Yes, but, as I say in the video, I'm keeping one battery without the bluetooth connection to see if it makes a difference to the runtime. It wont pair if there's only one battery in it, because it wont run - hence the need for the drill. 👍
You can never have too much stuff!
😂👍
Love the way you actually just get to the point and everything ends up smart in a hurry. Heading to my garage to use you as inspiration for today. Big thanks for your efforts. :)
Thanks! 👍
Thanks Peter, I always pick up something useful from your builds even this quick and dirty one, which is much more like my normal projects, although they are not always quick ! 🤔😂
Looks like that base cabinetry basics series can't come soon enough for some ! 😉
😂😂 Cheers Andy! 👍
Your equipment is of very cool quality, of course the results are very good, greetings from Indonesia ❤❤
A nice build and yes, we do have too much stuff.
A full morning of clearing my workshop filled two wheely bins (each topped off with a bin bag of genuine household waste so that the bin men didn't get nosy) but I need another morning followed by a trip to the tip. Then I might be able to use my lathe, bandsaw and bench without humping stuff around.
At 08:14, is this what Festool means by self cleaning? LOL. Great work!
Always such a cool level headed dude! Love your videos Peter and wish I had a portion of your Festool tools.
Thanks! 👍
Hi Peter, you could make a sliding manifold to make switching over easier. I’ve something similar there’s a few examples on here. But trying to condense the explanation: the hose from the vac is attached to a slider disk with a hole captive in the manifold which has 4 holes for hoses to my table saw and one going to my track saw etc you just slide it between them. It’s much better than blast gates in a small shop and a pretty simple build.
Nice idea, but I’ll stick with the simple solution for now, at least until I build the final cabinet. If the tablesaw gets more use than I expect then I’ll rig something up more permanently. 👍
I always feel inspired by your videos
Your workshop usually seems so neat in the videos. I'm so happy to see that post project clutter is just course for the par and it isn't just me being my messy self :)
It’s a complete mess most of the time! 😂👍
Thats why the adjustable feet are like that! Peter, been wondering that for years.
Great job 👍 If you’re anything like me, a tenner says you ever get round to the new cabinet 😊
I give it a year… 😂
I like this “stream of consciousness “ building. I hope I can build the confidence to do this at some point. As a beginner, it’s easy to get stuck over analyzing drawing up 15 versions of a plan and get paralyzed wondering if you’re gonna mess up something. ( when in fact those mistakes would grant a good learning opportunity) . Maybe we call it the James Joyce woodworking method?
You should call it muscle memory building, because it comes out if years of experience of building things. After a while, you tend to know instinctively how things go together, and what you need to do.
Analysis paralysis - I still get it from time to time! 🤷♂️👍
I feel totally let down Peter. At the very least I was expecting a jig to fit the feet! Please don't descend to my level of "that'll do" carpentry, you are my inspiration! :)
That’ll do is what I aspire to Nigel! 😂👍
@@10MinuteWorkshopOr as Peter Parfitt says 'Good enough for Government work'
That's starting to turn into a great maker studio!
Getting there Andy, thanks! 👍
Howdy Peter,
everything looks so easy when you do 😮 Love your videos
I ordered me a Bosch Gkt 18V-52 now. Get some praktice and then will see 😂
Nice! 🙌👍
Brilliant, Peter! Fantastic work! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too! 👍
Nicely done Peter.👍👍
I’d have put locking wheels on that saw cabinet !!! :)
Not if you had a floor as uneven as mine! 😂👍
great build
Another great video Peter. I have been interested in the new festool table saw for a while now but unfortunately it doesnt have the capacity for what i need but im still very interested to aee what you make with it.
Also you probably realized this after you did it but the legs are much easier to cut to the right size if you cut them as one piece
Looking forward to the episode where Peter shows us the new vacuum he's bought to have back on the other side of the workshop.
😂😂 What, you don’t think I have a spare already that would do the job? 😯😆😉👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop oh yeah because you're well known for only having a single of each tool. Remind me how many plunge saws you're up to now?!
I think I’m down to 13, which is unlucky. I should buy another… 🤷♂️😂
Nice video! I can see the reason for the table saw base and the vacuum sitting underneath. I also think it’s good to use just simple material for that. Wouldn’t it be more convineint to have the thing sitting on casters? That would not only make it easy to take the saw away if you need the space on the router, but would also make it possible to use i.e. the router table as an outfeed of the table saw.
Anyway, curious to see/hear more about your opinion of this saw in a small workshop.
Thanks. The floor’s far too uneven for casters - everything would end up at the front of the workshop! 😂👍
@@10MinuteWorkshopyou could locking version!
The floor simply isn’t even enough for casters - hence the adjustable feet! 👍
Thank you.
Self cleaning vacuum 👍
Hi Peter, Great video as usual. I was just surprised that you didn't put even a partial back on the cabinet. Is there no risk of racking?
Not at all, not at this size and load.👍
Thanks Peter, I’ve watched your cabinetry basics videos many times and I understand the advantages of having the top and base fit within the sides. However in this situation, since the table saw sits on the top, wouldn’t this be a time to have the top sit on top of the sides? It’s clearly strong enough as it is but I still wonder about this detail for cabinets like this with a heavy tool sitting on top of it.
Honestly Mark, make them however you like - either way is plenty strong enough, but most commercial cabinets are made this way, with the top and base sitting within the sides. If you have a very heavy tool in mind, then having the top bearing against the sides may well work better - but in base cabinets, you typically have stretchers or bearers that keep the sides apart, in addition to the top. There’s a ‘base cabinet basics’ series coming along shortly where this gets explored in more detail. 👍👍
Glad your liking your new saw Peter and your shop looks like mine I’m thinking about getting a maid in but the wife thinks different
😂👍
Hi Peter. You don't need to press the Bluetooth button on the battery the saw automatically sends out a signal just press Bluetooth button on saw or the remote. Just on button 😁
Yes, but I want to have Bluetooth enabled on only one battery, to see if there’s any effect of the BT connection in battery life. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop When you always put the battery into a drill and switch it on, there will be a difference between the two in the end.
I wonder if you will get a second vacuum next. But I guess it will not be connected to the table saw a lot so it will take the same effort to switch the hose to different tools as before.
Already have 4 vacs in this shop, don’t think I need another! 👍😂
Hi, like your videos, for cleaning I would highly recommend Festool Saugpinsel D 36 SP you will get all dust of so much easier.
Thanks. I tried the D36 when I first had Festool gear, and found that it didn’t make a scrap of difference to me. 🤷♂️👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop I hink he is referring to a brush attachment and not to a hose..
@@Reefgc Oh OK. I have one already - somewhere… 😬

@@10MinuteWorkshoplol that wos quick Peter, nothing better to do 🎉
I am laughing really hard when the vacuum came on with the drill.
I only want one of the 5.2Ah batteries connected to Bluetooth - so I can monitor any difference in discharge - so using the drill made perfect sense. 👍
Peter, thanks for a surprisingly good watch. I have just returned home somewhat tired and floppy-lipped after prolonged root canal treatment and with a hot cup of tea this was good recuperation! I’m no expert by any means but wouldn’t the weight of the saw be better supported if the top panel was fixed over the edges of the side panels? Looking forward to your next video. I have more root canal treatment on Friday 4th August if you wouldn’t mind!! 😊
Thanks Christian, and sorry to hear about the root canal work! Re the cabinet, no, most commercial cabinets are made this way, unless the top overhangs the sides. I went into all the details in the ‘cabinetry basics’ series, and there’ll be a ‘base cabinetry basics’ along soon just to reaffirm this. 👍
I've had a few quick and dirty caucuses 👀
Also... Saw seem like a pain in the ass.
🤷♂️ Don’t buy one.
@@10MinuteWorkshop I have been keeping my eye on this saw as it looks like a handy thing for the kitchen installs and the boxing in work and boiler cupboard ect.... I don't think I will. I'm just struggling to see its place...
Festool. Let's make a table saw that fits on our vac with power take off. Also let's have it battery powered 😭 I just think they missed a massive selling point. It's just a bit too much of a pain in the ass for the money. From what I see, but then I'm just saying what I see. The Bluetooth connection when a lead will do 🥱 festool cash grab. I don't hate on festool some of their stuff is good and I am sure this is but I think the money men had a bit of a say in this one.
Peter, look at New Brit Workshop table for new saw.
Thanks, but why? It’s a thing on casters, and I’ve already explained why wheels won’t work in my workshop. 🤷♂️👍
Tidy mate, I could do with you helping me kit out the new shop 😀
Cheers Dan! 👍
Felt guilty having breakfast while you worked… but time spent together is time spent together….
Today’s electronics are getting very weird, my brother had all new garage door springs and new opener put in… guy told him do not put LED lights close to opener, they radiate in a way that interferes with the opener remote signal….
Fun video and great breakfast
Crazy! 🤷♂️😂👍
Hi Peter, to re connect bluetooth, you only have to press bluetooth button on midi once.. then start saw, and it will instantly pair.. greetings from nl
Thanks - but I don’t want both batteries paired to the saw, as I’m trying to see if the Bluetooth option makes a significant difference to battery life. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop It wont pair both, just one of them.. I have a tsc55 and I have the idea, indeed, the bluetooth battery empties faster.. but whether bluetooth is actually the reason why..... ?
because compared to the 1400 or 1800 watts or so the saw pulls from the battery, the bluetooth functionality shouldnt make much more then a dent in the capacity i would guess.. But I am no expert
Spot on, or you can hit the remote and it’ll pair the battery immediately. The way you paired with the drill is way to slow
I guess now he has himself a cabinet saw.
😂
for a floor-standing single unit box like this, I would have preferred your "wrong way" to do the box, so the weight is not carried by the fixings, but transferred straight down along the entire edge, like a table top is placed. Your current setup has two forces in opposite directions (ground and saw weight), and side panels are left to mercy of the fixings. Not an expert in cabinetry, but Physics 101.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! You only make them that way if the top overhangs the sides. Commercial cabinetry is always made this way.
@@10MinuteWorkshop I've seen your video covering this and it made complete sense regards a wall mounted cabinet, indeed the bottom could one day come loose built the way this gentleman suggests.
In this case i think he is totally right however by inclusion of the feet, even your gut reaction was to outset them onto the sides a little bit.
At least you can get Bluetooth to turn on the vac. Bosch doesn't seem to want to support that basic feature.
Hi Peter
Love your blogs as always, can I ask what is your all go to size Hinge Centring Drill you use.
Thanks Rich
We should get a side bet going on just how long that quick build will stay in service. :D
I give it a year, at the most! 😂
@@10MinuteWorkshop ...famous last words to the better half...
I understand the logic in putting the base of the cabinet between the sides if you are building say, a wall unit but wouldn't it be a stronger construction in this instance carrying a table saw on the top to have the cabinet base underneath, ie supporting the sides?
Pretty much all commercial cabinets are made this way, unless the top overhangs the sides. There’ll be a ‘base cabinetry basucs’ series along soon. 👍
So that way of making cabinet reduces racking? I’ll have to go back to that older video!
Don’t think so Dean - just a better way to make cabinets, and the vast majority of commercial cabinets are made this way. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop if I made that it would definitely fall over if I sneezed on it 😂😂
Remember Norm Abrahms workshop? Bigger than most people's house. Wonder how hes doing
On your kitchen refurb can you try out an active respirator? I’d love or hear your thoughts etc. Ta
Never used one, and I’m hands off on the actual work. I think Leo at @hand-i-craft has one?
Proper one day with materials on hand rather than 9/10ths of a birth ply sheet in the shop, or walnut boards left over from another project.
Interesting with Bluetooth link. My ctl26 can be turned off and still maintains link with the button remote. So is it a midi or battery thing?
That’s interesting Doug. Must be a Midi thing then - hadn’t considered that! 👍
Peter, why does the top of this carcass sit within the sides? For floor standing units where the top is to bear weight, I always make mine sit on top of the sides to transfer the weight through them. I put the base within the sides, as you have here.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! You only make them that way if the top overhangs the sides. Commercial cabinetry is always made this way. There’s a base cabinetry basics series coming soon. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop Ah, that’s ok then, because the ones I’ve done DO overhang! Splendid. It’s a subtle difference, but clearly I didn’t spot it. Thank you!
Off topic... how many cameras do you have ? 😅
Umm, a few?? 😬 Two big ones, two little ones (maybe 3 now…) and the phone. They all have a place, Thomasz! 😂 BTW did you sign up to Plus recently? Thought I saw your name there?? 🤷♂️

what was your thinking behind using kitchen legs as opposed to castors ? wonky floor ?
Yep, floor’s all over the place, plus it’s a table saw - I want it solid. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop i have the same problem , im currently looking at leveling castors , i want to be able to swivel the carcs rather than the saw

great idea and build. what is the wood glue you use??
10-minute PVA. There’s a link in the ‘everyday workshop essentials’ list in my Amazon store at 10minuteamazon.com 👍
I thought the main reason for the same height was so that the existing bench would act as outfeed for the saw but it’s oriented perpendicular to it. I guess it wasn’t.
Other way round - the saw is the outfeed for the router. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshopre-watched and now I get it! Unfortunately I can only “like” once.
How big are the cabinets you’re making with that loose tenon jig on the wall.
Massive! 😂
Bit off-topic question, but wireless mic setup are you using? Audio quality's quite nice.
Thanks! It’s the DJI; bought them after using @RobinClevett set in Germany, they are so, so good, and so much easier to use and set up than the Rode Go. Sounds pretty decent too, though there’s a bit of eq applied. 👍👍
Looking for buying one for my ultra small office, does it works well on an MFT table (I have one already)?
It works fine on any table, but - obviously - the table needs to be relatively low to be at a comfortable working height. 👍
Hi Peter, what bench height do you use? Regards Mike F
~810mm / 32” to the top surface.
an ouroboros vacuum
I have to say… I was slightly triggered with those legs not being in line lol

That beautifully made feature rich saw would frustrate the crap out of me. It is far too small to justify the price and features, unless you run a toothpick factory...
At the risk of stating the obvious, if it’s not for you, don’t buy it. 🤷♂️ I’ve gone into the buying decisions in a previous video, but fwiw it was slap in the middle of the saws I looked at price-wise. 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop I just watched that video. You explained the few pros and many cons pretty well.
