No one ever believes me when I tell them the best American car collection is in swift current NL HAHA! Thank you for covering it
I should drop in. I hunt in swift current. I almost dropped in last summer
Vernons collection is out of this world. I take the kids out to see him annually. He's a great dude to talk to, and loves to talk about the cars. It does not matter how you are. He spent a good 30 minutes explaining some of them to my 12 year old.
wheres this guy at ?
@@highlandsoutdoors2041 Swift Current, Newfoundland. An absolutely beautiful car collection.
Vernon is top notch as are every one of his vehicles. I stop in every time I’m in Newfoundland, he’s always got time to chat.
I hope and trust that this collection will always remain on the rock. Living in Sydney Mines Cape Breton we love Newfoundland and her people. We have so many Newfoundlanders living with us as our neighbors. Some Trivia: From Cape Breton we can follow the VOCM talk show on 590AM and 570AM. The evening rebroadcast. Darn Cool!
Jay Leno's Canadian Cousin!Nice Collection!
Funny thing is Jay may not be aware of this gentleman. Magnificent collection.
WOW!!!! Unbelievable collection of super RARE automobiles. This guy really knows his stuff. 👌🏼
Vernon’s encyclopedic knowledge of each vehicle is legendary. The man researches to the enth degree. He’s as fascinating as his vehicles.
Unreal. Muscle cars are my thing but that 59 Cadillac is something else
This is my fathers brother, my uncle! His collection is unbelievable!
You must be related to Dave Colett
Unbelievable is certainly an appropriate word, what a collection!
Every last one is rare as hens teeth and perfect wow
@@xxtoxicsniper44xx36 it certainly is your unc must be filthy rich 🤑
Were is it
Thank you for saving history for future generations.
That has to be one of the best collections in all of Canada and for convertibles maybe the best in north America WOW..
Visited a few days before this video and not as many people were there so got to spend some time talking to Vern, he is so knowledgeable about all these cars and I could spend hours talking to him. This is a must visit for any car enthusiast.
So trippy to see a place I spent so much of my childhood in featured on RUclips. I've sat in many of these cars and have spent hours ogling at them in this garage. Vernon is a gem, him and his collection are world class.
amazing collection - thumbs up to Vernon , Mike and Matt for the tour. Great job!
What a collection. Incredible Mopars. I laughed at the drinks in the car comment…different times for sure lol
The man knows everything about every bolt in every car..impressive
I was amazed by that also, especially when one car Mike mentioned it had a lot of relays. The guy responded with exactly how many relays , sensors and how many feet of wiring, instantly off the top of his head. Incredible
Vernon is my wife's cousin, her grandmother talked very highly of him, her father's side is from swift current ! :)
That's truly a Hidden Gem for Newfoundland. I just may have to plan a trip 😂
WOW! I can't even start to imagine what that beautiful car collection would be valued at! Talk about "deep pockets!"
What a collection! I love how much the owner knows about these vehicles! I would love to visit NFLD just to see this collection.
I grew up accross the road from the museum in swift current and knew Vernon sense I was knee high to a grass hopper always loved cars and being next to Vern’s helped me enjoy the automotive culture and talking about them beauty’s and cars in general!
Gave myself whiplash watching my mouth is still watering...that man should get an áward
It's truly unbelieveable to see in person, you guys done a great job covering it. Anyone that loves cars can easily spend hours there. Vernon is the Best !!
He's so proud of his collection and rightfully so! I believe he also has more cars still in various stages of restoration. World class collection and gentleman!
Wow I thought Jay Leno was knowledgeable with cars. proud Maritimer here from New Brunswick, did not know that there was such a collection in Newfoundland. thank you! who says you can't teach an old dog a new trick👍🏼😎🇨🇦
Old dogs know all the tricks ! Lol
That's why there are no tricks left for them O'l dogs to learn !
Wow what a collection my hat goes off to that gentleman great job Mike
Classic Character + Class AAAA Cars! Bless you VERNON for all the Time + Money you have invested! THANKS MIKE for the TOUR!
Nice to see you here in Newfoundland Bud. Safe travels.

So awesome to see Vern living the dream , he seems to really enjoy showing his collection and and talking about them , they sure are beautiful machines , thanks Mike 👍
Amazing collection. I think I am Vernon's long lost son. Lol
This collection is about 2 hours away from me. It's located in Swift Current, NL and this collection will send chills up your spine. When Vernon is there, he will talk to everyone. I thought he was super nice.
It's crazy , I was there last month, it's in the middle of nowhere . Best part of my Nfld trip 😊 enjoy
What a great spot I visited Vern’s a couple of times back 6-8 years ago good to see him happy and doing well best collection I ever seen great video thanks for taking us along
Went out there a few weeks ago. Vernon is a top notch guy! Showed my friend and I around a few of the unique features of some of his cars! Extremely knowledgeable. This guys knows his stuff and while his collection must be priceless he's seems pretty humble
We were there in the middle of Covid. when we walked in the first thing Vernon said to us was "You don't need to wear your masks in here if you don't want to" I said oh thank you so much. He's a great guy. such an amazing collection of antique cars and lets everyone including children touch and experience them.
One of the best collections I’ve ever seen, unbelievable.
The guy that owns it done an amazing job telling about each one a lot of knowledge of the past for sure !
My father's Studebaker Golden Hawk is in a car museum in Auburn Indiana. After my father drove it until he broke the frame, it went to a junkyard and the museum bought it and restored it.
Hello MIKE, all as I can say is,WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!..ABSOLUTELY SUPERB COLLECTION, NEVER SEEN ONE BETTER. I AM DRULING RIGHT NOW.. REGARDS ANDREW. ❤
That's awesome...Matt sounds like a car almanac....well done sir

That Daytona..incredible..to think nobody wanted one back when they were built to the desire they have today..way ahead of their time
Good to see you visited our beautiful province. Beautiful cars, indeed.
Tellin me he’s got all that money and there ain’t a single big red in the shed? Jaysus bi. Gawnnnn
Can't fet one with 10 original miles on it.
What a treat! These are unreal. When I went to Uni, I would have loved the Cadillac with the shot glasses . Back in the day for sure!! Thanks so much!
The gentleman's collection is absolutely mind blowing.
I’m in love with that orange Buick Skylark!😍
Since the video started, all I could think about was what a huge responsibility for his kids to ensure this collection is maintained through the next generation just to hear him say he doesn't have any kids that's so so sad...
Maybe his kids are into cars .
@@waynewolfe7009 he doesn't have kids that's the whole point of my comment.
What amazing collection of cars. Thanks Mike
its crazy after all the cars you have seen on this trip that at the end on the trip you see a unreal millionaires classic collection freakin crazy awesome time pieces
I know nothing about cars and have no interest lol but I came across this video and gave it a watch….. Mr.Smith your knowledge of your collection and cars in general is amazing. Only live 20mins away and haven’t been There… thanks for the video

Amazing collection and he is very smart guy with alot of information again amazing collection
Nice to hear the stories of the cars.
A collection out of this world. Stunning vehicles. Thanks for showing this.
That was truly amazing. Inspired me to dig out some old car magazines and shop manuals that were given to me when I was a in my teens by an elderly man that I used to pile wood for. Might be worth something to someone.
What a down to earth guy
Super cool video , loving watching the trip , keep up the great work 👏👏
Very nice collection and what a Good Man showing you .and all of us thank you Guys 🎉🎉🎉
My lord what a collection! Simply amazing.
that was amazing .. so many of those i seen when new and i would stop at all the dealerships walking home from high school... so pristine and beautiful cars of the past .. thank you for taking me with you...
Lincolns back in the 60's also had the button on floor next to the dimmer switch to change the radio station..My parents had two of them and it is what i learned to drive when i was 16 and also what i took my drivers test in..This collection is off the hook with amazing cars
Nice to hear the history on these cars. It's even better that I was just there looking at all of them in July.
Very impressive collection of cars😮
Awesome show the guy knows so much
Wow what a collection, I had a 1965 Impala SS 396 convertible just like his, except it was an automatic, not many people know this, the first few months of production the 1965 SS had a 400 hp 409 single four barrel, in Feb the 396 came out and Chevy switched motors. This is an incredible collection.
Went there a few days ago, this collection blew my mind, loved the Daytona there and the 1908 Buick
Nice that my home town of Owen Sound gets a mention.😊
Wow, how cool to hear that Lincoln scored a 400 in my hometown. He even pronounces “Lancaster” correctly!
I repaired a '57 Tbird hardtop convertible years ago. It took me way too long to figure out that in order to raise and lower the top you simply reverse the polarity on the DC hydraulic power pack. I had no internet and no schematics. I ended up charging 12 hours labour after doing lots of other diagnostics and repairs. I thought the dude would put up a fight, but he wanted to kiss me. He's had it to four auto shops but finally brought it to my hydraulics shop.
Wow that is quite the collection of early Americana automobiles. Just goes to show how beautiful those cars really were back then . You can have your high dollar Lamborghini and Ferrari This is quite the unique collection thanks guys really enjoyed this video.
What a beautiful collection!! The whole Island is trying to figure out when or if your coming to PEI your fans here would love to see you!!
Blair would like that place!!!!! Thank you for taking us along .
Awesome place to visit and Vernon is so accommodating , just like you seen in this video , what a great guy and collection !!

"65 was the last year for a 409 Impala. My Dad had one...Great Video ...Thanks!!!

Hey Mike, huge fan here! Have you made out with the codfish yet and drank that fine Newfie Screech we all hate? See ya got christened on way in with the rain so should be good to go anywhere here now eh? Take er easy bud and enjoy our hospitality!!
What a nice man and what a beautiful car collection.A collection I have dreamed about all my life..
Rust brothers Are on the rock Now is anybody going to screech him in to an Honorary Newfoundland 🤔👍
I had one of those single master cylinders fail on me. It wasn't so scary because it took awhile. At first I just had to pump it a few times to get a good pedal. But then it went from bad to gone all at once around the third day. Fortunately the hand brake was still there.
Awesome selection of magnificent car's ,thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Wow!!!!!!!
Rust Bros,,,,,,, Yeee Yeee
What a collection of beautiful cars.im impressed. Right on mike
wish i would of visit this place when i was in new foundland
I just seen you guys drive through Beach Point, PEI. Fucking awesome! Enjoy. 1:20 pm on Sunday Augusr 25th.
Mike you have to check out John scotti's car collection in montreal
The best car is the second one with the stainless steel roof. You should see it in person what a machine!
Is the new season also going to be on Motortrend with the same time and date? I'd like to buy the collection. The 350, 361, 383, and 400 have the same internals, the only difference is the bore and piston size. The 413, 426, and 440 wedge engines share the internals with different piston sizes. The 350 and 413 share pistons as well as 361 and 426, and the 383 and 440. The 400 pistons are the largest pistons produced by Chrysler.
Nope, it'll be on Motor Trend TV after it's finished it's first run here in Canada first. Probably November or December on Motor Trend TV/Discovery Plus/HBO Max.
@@cariboooutlaw4852 thanks
What a fantastic collection of cars . He sure seems like a great person.
Mike mineaswell quit asking if stuff is original. His collection is perfect and fully original. Amazing collection.
I've got a 70 Cuda convertible but needs fully restored
