How The Monsterverse Nerfed Kong!

  • Kong is going head to head with Godzilla in 2020, but would this Kong have more trouble with Godzilla then a scaled up Kong of a previous incarnation? In other words, Kong was nerfed and doesn't have certain attributes his character always had which would certainly aid him with fighting Godzilla!

Another thing that MV Kong misses out on is his aggression that we see in other iterations. MV Kong is almost too human, not to say that his high intelligence and calm nature is bad (which it isn’t), he just doesn’t feel like a true monster. This is shown in most of his fights where he’s just standing there like: 😧 He just doesn’t have any primal rage moments that we see with other monsters like Godzilla where he’s just punching, biting, and throwing objects in pure angry. I hope we see some moments like this in the new film. I want Kong to be scary again.

Honestly, you bring up some pretty good points. Personally i didnt rlly dislike the 2017 skull island but i can definitely see where you're coming from. The 2017 skull island felt a lot less horrifying and sort of empty. Along with kong not always needing to fight for his life. I think this was probably intentional, i think they went for an island thats deceptive. It looks beautiful but it isnt a peaceful island. However, they could have done more with this concept tho and really delved into the horrors of skull island .

I always said that If Kong was as big as Godzilla, he would win. My point still stands. In GvK, Godzilla was freaking 61ft bigger than Kong. And Kong was insanely nerfed in GvK. In the OG King Kong vs Godzilla, King Kong was beating Godzilla, even before he got struck with lightning. He was tackling him and throwing punches. Then he stupidly hit his own head and Godzilla got free hits on him. Then Kong got struck by lightning and the beat Godzilla. He was barley shorter than Godzilla and was beating him. His hits seriously damaged Godzilla, unlike in GvK, where every time Kong hit Godzilla, Godzilla almost immediately bounced back and literally shook off the damage. I feel like they made Kong so he would get stomped by Godzilla. They severely nerfed his experience and even his strength.

But yes skull island in 2017 is tame and too peaceful compared to 2005's island which was harsh and viscous while still having some beauty to be found
The monsters in 2017 were cool but it doesn't feel nearly as prehistoric and basically all of the monsters are puny to Kong and are just about no threat to him other than the skull crawlers I guess but he man handles multiple of them anyway as seen when he bodies two of them in the film when Marlow gives his speech however the concepts are nice it's just they're not as malicious or nearly as threatening to Kong
King Kong in 2005 is far more experienced and badass simply because the odds were usually against him and every day was a fight for survival for him forcing him to truly become King on the island by being put through the test meanwhile in the monsterverse Kong would have only had this issue when he was young because at 100ft he was fine and nothing was really a threat to him which makes him weaker because he isn't in a constant struggle to survive so he's just too chill and laid back
The majority love the 2005 Kong more because he was just a lot more impressive

I think they did this because the fact that most of the animals and environment that came up from the hollow earth had to adapt, perish or retreat back to the depths. Maybe that's why it doesnt look so exotic because those elements had to stay down in the hollow earth where the radiation or energy source they need is a lot more abundant? I think it was grounded and putting bigger kaiju in the film may not have been a good idea since the monsterverse seems to have different rules trying to incorporate as much of the sci fi element from godzilla and kong resembling more the original than Peter Jackson's remake.
If anything Toho brought kong to another level making him bigger to take on godzilla in the first place in the original. I feel like maybe they were setting up for the cool stuff to come in a hollow earth and go away from the skull island stuff and it being more and just a sneak peak of what's to come down in the motherland

In nature, size doesn’t matters as much as one would think. The giant skull crawler may be shorter than kong, but it is a hyper carnivore as confirmed in the comics. It must constantly eat to survive therefore making its metabolism and overall speed/reaction time that much quicker than Kong’s. Using this mode of life, small shrews are able to take down adult garter snakes. Kong was up against something pretty much his size that had better natural weaponry and speed. For a juvenile Kong, that is an impressive victory.

Official stats bro. Kaiju logically are built tougher than normal animals so it makes sense they'd be dense even at a small size. Logically the V.rex wouldn't be 15+ tons as they are only somewhat larger and actually less bulky than a real T.rex of comparable size, but stats are what they are.
Kong wouldn't be able to hold all that mass back. Look at the 05 fight again. While he does display some amazing strength, any time the V.rex's actually tackled him he got bowled over. He relied on avoiding direct hits and using the environment as his foes lacked any grappling abilities, were on uneven terrain, were fairly slow, and not agile much at all. He also relied on set-up moves to dispatch them, such as the boulder crush and jaw breaker.
Let's say Kong tries to do what your set up states and tries to grapple the crawler's arms with his feet. First off, gonna have a real hard time given how big its hands are and the fact he's trying to hold its strongest limbs with his weakest ones. But let's say he manages to and tries. Wanna know what he didn't account for? The same tail that Ramarak/Skull Devil had that was strong enough to lift and throw a Kong even heavier than themselves several hundred yards. Prehensile tail is as good as any limp and it has way more reach than he does, with comparable agility. Damn things were able to spring forward dozens of yards at a time and launch themselves from hilltops. Kong would be fighting a foe way heavier than he is, much more durable than he is, and just as agile.
Is it impossible to win? Not necessarily, but it be a hell of a lot harder than against a V.rex. Against 3? He ain't winning that.

I was highly disappointed with Kong Skull Island, this is one of the main reasons why I didn't like it. 2005 Kong was a really good film, and the Kong character is way better. I felt for the 2005 Kong. As for Kong in Skull Island... I hope Godzilla kicks his ass. He was so bland and dull. I didn't feel shit for him. He always has the same faces. Grumpy and mad, always the same. 2005 Kong smiled and laughed and had lot's of emotion. I hope Kong 2017 dies because he's so bad.

0:26 skull island isn't gonna look nor be like the 05 version hell out of all the king kong materials out there from the 1933 movie to the cartoons they aren't all terrifying. They just hold some of the most dangerous predators possible. And that's what I like about this skull island it's beautiful like something out of a dream but inside holds the most nightmarish things within. Same goes for the natives they aren't gonna be savages like the 05 movie. 3:33 how is that a bad thing? 5:53 that's kinda the point kong not ready to fight bigger badder kaiju yet he has to start small. 7:13 you forgot the two jovial skullcrawlers and he beat them. Also yes kong was having trouble he's not use to fighting a big creators that's why the humans helped him to
    A) keep kong alive to keep balance on skull island
    B) keep the skullcrawlers from leaving
    C) it shows that both human and monster can work together.
It also shows kong emotional side that he protects the innocent. 8:39 it's called build up let kong fight the small fry then work to the big guy 9:26 so what's the problem? They're trying to show kong as one of the good monsters I like that he generally a good guy anyway so how's this a problem? That's your problem dude your favouring the 05 version and not excepting that this kong is not like the 05 version it's trying to be it's own thing. And it success

While I do see what you're saying (and I'm fully aware he is still a kid in 1973), how sharp a fighter he is or how strong he is all depends on the predators surrounding him. If the island is not dangerous, Kong basically gets no experience in at all. King Kong '33 and '05 had to fight for their survival every single day of their lives, no matter where they were. And that's my overall issue with the film, the island just is not dangerous enough to be believable as Skull Island. The Iwi should have had more edge to them and have been forced to cope with such an incredibly dangerous island.
Even with Kong starting small, fighting just one smaller monster on what should be an island full of deadly kaiju makes no sense. That's saying he's just growing and occasionally fighting, it should be every day. He would be a way sharper fighter akin to King Kong 05 by the time his fight with G rolls around. And I did mention the two baby skull crawlers (8:19). Again, you just stated my very problem; Kong is not used to fighting big creatures. You start out small and grow from there, eventually you do fight bigger creatures and that is something King Kong 2005 and 33 did when they were at younger ages as well. I just think at 104 feet tall Kong was not the powerhouse he should have been, child or not.
Of course I will favor the 05 version more, it seemed to actually try with Skull Island being a dangerous place. Monsterverse's Skull Island seems like it should be Monster Island, it feels like it's from Journey to the Center of the Earth. I'm fine with him always protecting the Iwi and the innocent, he seems sentient and all, but it's also way more interesting when they fear him then the audience finds out firsthand he isn't the monster everybody makes out to be. That could have culminated in the final battle where the Iwi think they will get killed and punished by Kong, who is really there to protect them. There's no development, it's just information given to us and they do nothing with it.

Man, this video has been almost two years in the making! Haha I've always wondered what you meant when you said Kong was nerfed in your 'How Kong Could Beat Godzilla' video, and now we finally got an answer. Lol
While I still love KSI and this version of Kong, you bring up a lot of valid points. This Skull Island is a lot more toned down than '05, and even the original. Now that I think about it, this island makes me think more of Mondo Island than Skull Island. Not to say I personally hate that approach, but it does have it's drawbacks. It's more beautiful than previous Skull Islands, but the lack of big creatures is kind of lame.
I think Kong's enhanced size might have something to do with it. If there were a ton of monsters over 100 ft. tall running around, I don't imagine there'd be a lot of room on the island. But if Kong were closer to his more traditional size, monsters that were more parallel to his height and weight would be more common because there'd be more space to roam. I could just be reading into things too much, though. The actual answer is probably completely different.
As for which version of Kong himself I prefer, it always changes every week haha. Even though I love gorillas on their own, I do prefer Kong having several differences from them. I love MonsterVerse Kong's bipedal nature and brown fur. Having Kong resemble a literal giant gorilla in PJ's version as opposed to being a giant gorilla-like monster leaves me conflicted. It feels like he's more related to Mighty Joe Young than he is to Kong. That said, though, I do think Kong '05 is perfect for the film he's in, and I'm glad they went with the straight up 100% gorilla design at least once, so we can have variety among the Kongs. Plus, Kong '05 has this quality about him that you can't help but love. Probably has a lot to do with his backstory, which is similar to MV Kong's but because we're shown Kong '05's backstory instead of told it, like MV Kong's case, it hits home a little more. Both Kong's are great for different reasons.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Haha I love your videos, man. They're visually appealing and well put together, but they make me think as well. Keep up the good work, my friend! :)

Thanks so much for the feedback brother, always appreciated! Yeah, I just think the fact that danger wasn't behind every corner took a lot out of Skull Island for me. Without danger keeping Kong fighting every day of his life, he lacks the experience and strength needed to go toe-to-toe with Godzilla, when it's a character trait he should always have!
I would have probably made the island just really big, the jagged rocks and mountains in 2005 alone seem to be over like 800 feet. I would just make the mountain very very large. as well as the trees (possibly 60-120 feet tall). It wouldn't feel as crowded as 05 but not as empty as '17, you know?
Yeah, as much as I love King Kong 2005 I always like me a Kong that is biped and brown. While my dream Kong physique would more-so resemble Congar from War of the Monsters, it would be followed up by King Kong '62, '76, then '17. Idk, I get he's a kid and all but his head-to-body ratio is so weird, he got a watermelon on his shoulders! I know his head will be smaller when he's fully grown, which definitely brings out his buffness in his body, but if he got slimmer and gained more muscle as well as longer arms and a bit of a sagital crest forming, he'd probably become my 2nd favorite design or even first, beating out the horrendous KK '62 suit! I understand what PJ was doing, but Kong is more than some big gorilla. I'll always love the design, but I do prefer when he's more of a monster rather than giant ape. In fact, Jackson said he wanted Kong to not feel like a monster, rather just misunderstood. Could have been done with another design, but to each their own, right?!

The boulder that Kong shattered in Ramarak's face weighed, at low end;815 tons and high end; 1204 tons.
Kong's strength wasn't nerfed at all. If anything this is the second physically strongest Kong to date. Only being outdone be the King Kong who fought Godzilla. On a lb for lb basis, he outdoes even 2005 Kong(with the square cube law, if they both jumped at the same hight proportionately 2017 Kong would have to be stronger by orders of magnitude just to achieve a proportionately similar height).
He even has greater agility(just watch him jump, that's some freakish strength), precision(sniping a helicopter with a tree), and durability (those anti aircraft guns hit hard), and intelligence (he made an improvised flail/blade out of a propellor) he's the second strongest Kong there is. In literally every way.

Monsterverse Kong is also about 60 more heat resistant than a human.

Calc on how strong Kong would have to be to break out of the chains on the ship.
Basically, he exerted about 3,300 tons of strength. Just for reference he weighs about 154 tons.
However I get your point on Skull Island being nerfed as in, there's not much that can credibly threaten Kong's life. While I may like 2017's Skull Island better, 2005's did seem more dangerous, at least to humans.

    • @KingKong19100
      @KingKong19100  4 года назад +1

That boulder was corrected to weigh around 415 tons, which is still impressive, but King Kong in 2005 being able to throw a heavier opponent one handed is more impressive if you were to scale them up proportionately. King Kong 2005 seemed to be proportionately stronger. But regardless, we both do use that boulder argument which is indeed valid. This would mean that, by 2020/2021, if Kong weighed even 30,000 tons, Kong is SWINGING and FLIPPING Godzilla without a problem. That's only if he has a fraction of the proportional strength he possessed as a kid. And apparently, according to Sayaka, Kong can't lift or swing Godzilla because Godzilla is "far too heavy". That means either Kong weighs like 5,000 tons (which would make NO sense at all), or they simply nerfed adult Kong's proportional strength. But to go back to the main topic, no, King Kong 2005 had more impressive strength proportionately.
Kong in the MV is a stiff jumper. I mean, he can jump very high, but I doubt he can pull off the acrobatics King Kong 2005 did in New York when he was jumping and swinging in that construction building. King Kong also outmaneuvered V-Rexes who were going to attack him, so he's more flexible as well. V-Rexes have smaller ribcages built for more flexibility, so the fact that King Kong can outmaneuver them is insane! This Kong does have some good precision though, and is indeed very smart.
Kong weighs 158 tons, if he can exert 3,300 tons of strength to break free from those chains. That means he can exert around 21.2x times his weight in tons of strength. This means if he weighed say 70,000 tons, he would be able to easily exert 1,484,000 tons of strength. That's in the millions. Even if he weighed a fraction of that weight, like an illogistical 20,000 tons, he's still able to exert 424,000 tons of strength. So unless his strength gets nerfed, Kong is stronger than Godzilla. But when it comes to in combat with monsters, King Kong looked physically stronger with lifting heavier opponents. But I suppose not anymore if Kong actually was able to exert that amount of weight!

    • @gojifacepalm3165
      @gojifacepalm3165 4 года назад +3

@@KingKong19100 When was that boulder's weight downsized? I frequent those forums and I can't recall anyone redoing the calculation and getting different results. Did you find that weight somewhere else? If so, I'd like to see the math, while I may not be on par with some top calculators on that site(couldn't think of anything else to call them) I could point out any holes in any equations.
Also, I'd like to point out that King Kong 2005 throwing the V Rex isn't as impressive as you make it sound(I mean no malice in that statement, just want to clear something up).
      ruclips.net/video/4rgo4yeC3C4/видео.html
He didn't do it easily at all. He strains a bit while also putting his back into it. He even employ's a lifting technique that explicitly puts a large portion of the body's strength behind his arm:
      static.neatorama.com/images/2012-06/frederick-winters-dumbell-olympics.jpg
Most of the distance the V Rex goes is due to the downward slope that King Kong threw it down. If the ground had been a horizontal plane, than the V Rex wouldn't have gone far at all. It would be more accurate to call that a slam than a throw. Still impressive that he can lift a creature that looks to be about 1.5 times his weight, but it was with some strain.
Also, even if the down sized boulder weight is accurate, that still doesn't disprove Kong 2017 being stronger on a lb for lb basis. He slammed a much more concentrated weight like a basketball, said weight out weighed him 2.96 times with the weight that you claimed, 5.29 times on the low end of the posted calc, and 7.818182 times on the high end. He casually exerted more force lb for lb than King Kong 2005 did with strain(just note, none of this takes into account how hard he had to slam that boulder to shatter it, something that the calc take into account, i just didn't highlight that because the weight alone looked impressive enough).
The chains that you cited as well also prove how much stronger Kong 2017 is than King Kong 2005 on a lb for lb basis.
When it comes to agility, Kong 2017 is a better jumper than King Kong 2005. However King Kong 2005 does have better fine motor skills. He does seem to be better at maneuvering in jungle like areas (which the construction sight did resemble to an extent). He may be a better climber and more maneuverable but he isn't more agile.
As for the strength of Godzilla and Kong in comparison, your underestimating Kaiju strength as a whole. Strength outputs going into the 100,000s of tons are nothing that Godzilla is unfamiliar with. Neither is the millions of tons range. Even Showa Era Godzilla has accomplished feats of strength up there in the millions without straining:
      comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/14/147508/5167361-gz%20feat%20strength%20%2821%29.gif
Throwing Mecha Godzilla (40,00 tons) thousand of meters at a horizontal angle and still having him go far would require strength easily in the high end millions of tons. Heisei Godzilla is commonly regarded as being a physical brute among Kaiju, and he's the same beast who fractured tectonic plates with enough force to blow an entrance into the mantle and cause earthquakes. Just saying that Kong exerting strength on that level doesn't put him above other Kaiju, as Kaiju ar not unfamiliar to this.
As for Legendary Godzilla, he isn't at all a stranger to that level of strength. The Female Muto who he overpowered had the strength to break through a mountain without the benefit of a running start. Godzilla himself shook the entire Golden Gate Bridge (887,000 tons) by lightly tugging on the support wire with one hand.
Than there's King Ghidorah, Godzilla's equal in strength(their charge resulted in a stalemate and a shockwave that spanned the city). King Ghidorah has on two occasions leaped hundreds of meters. Remember the square cube law and his weight(141,056 tons) for a sense of how freakishly strong he'd have to be to do this, along with how strong Godzilla would have to be to match him.
It's not just Godzilla and Ghidorah either, Rodan launched his 39,043 ton weight skyward with a single wing beat. Said wing beat carried the side effect of a shockwave/wind pressure comparable to a thermonuclear detonation. He did that casually and yet Mothra matched him in a wrestling match and King Ghidorah casually overpowered him.
Muto Prime threw Godzilla like a toy with one hand and yet when they wrestled, Godzilla matched him in strength. Godzilla even got the chance to throw Muto Prime as well. There is also the time Godzilla leaped hundreds of meters. And before someone says something Godzilla: Awakening was confirmed relevant and canon to the Monsterverse in a comic con. The timeline inconsistencies can be ignored.
When it comes down to strength Godzilla if stronger than Kong even on a lb for lb basis. Now Kong's strength could go up proportionately just like his durability will(it has to in order for there to be a fight at all) to match Godzilla. Now if I was the director and had to pick one of them to be physically stronger it would be Godzilla, with the strength difference being at most moderate and at least slight. I would more likely have them be equal in brute strength with Kong being able to look Godzilla in the eye as so it makes sense. As for Kong throwing Godzilla, I never denied that. Infact, I would be disappointed of Kong doesn't judo throw/slam Godzilla at one point of the fight.
I'd also like to see Kong piss off Godzilla and he just goes full blown Deviljho:
      ruclips.net/video/kahQKbMiJ5U/видео.html
Anyway, I would like to see a good fair fight, with Godzilla emerging the victor(I'm a Godzilla fan, of course I would.) but don't down play Godzilla.
Also, you did say that you'd make a video about how Kong would be able to stand up to Godzilla's Atomic Breath. I'd like to see that and discuss the topic in the comments.

@@gojifacepalm3165 So I'm pretty sure I was surfing that forum and saw him make the correction that the boulder was actually 500 tons. I can try to look for it, but regardless, Kong lifted anywhere from 5x his body weight to 10x+ it. Very impressive. It would be interesting to get calculations on the boulder King Kong 2005 lifts with one arm over his head, because that may be around 3-5x his weight as well.
I can understand why King Kong was struggling since he had two other creatures on him and he had to protect Ann. I'm sure with two arms and Ann set down he could throw the V-Rex better. Kong throws Ramarak quite easy but Ramarak weighs less and Kong had both his arms available while King Kong didn't. Now you do point out King Kong did struggle, and yeah King Kong weighs 8 tons while the V-Rex weighs around 16 tons from what I read. So I can understand why he's struggling when it is twice his own weight and he is lifting it with one arm.
The reason I wouldn't call that a slam is not only does he lift the V-Rex into the air, but when he does end up throwing the V-Rex it gets a lot of air time for a throw. While the slope does help like you said, the fact that Kong was able to do it is still impressive to me. But fair points.
Sorry if it seems like I'm downplaying Godzilla, I'll address that later in this comment. So while Godzilla shaking the GGB is impressive, I wouldn't say he was shaking that entire mass. The whole bridge may weigh around that, but Godzilla was only shaking a small fraction that I assume any monster that size could shake. He was lightly tugging on it, but that part of the bridge was higher up and yeah, considering it's a bridge, I'm not surprised Godzilla was able to both shake it and break through it. Still impressive, but like I said, I don't doubt a fully grown Kong or Rodan or Ghidorah couldn't do it either. I think Ghidorah was able to stop Godzilla in the charge up due to his weight. When it came to strength, Ghidorah in his base form still instantly got taken control of by Godzilla right after the charge ups. Ghidorah gets no successful physical hits in during the arctic battle and only had his beams as effective weapons, and in the Boston battle his only effective physical attack is the triple bite chokeslam which literally got brushed off by Godzilla. Ghidorah with the powerup seemed more deadly, but Ghidorah was not able to rival Godzilla at all until his powerup.
The Muto Prime and Godzilla battle is impressive. I don't know how much MP weighs since no given weight was present, but I would assume since Female Muto was 70,000 tons and had more mass, that Muto Prime would be at least around 95,000-100,000 tons while Godzilla was his 90,000 2014 weight. So yeah, a Godzilla who wasn't exhausted like in the G14 film is very strong, being able to lift and throw a monster that is possibly heavier than he is over his head. But I don't know if that can equate to Kong, who exerted that insane weight while he was only 158 tons. I think that is proportionately one of the greatest feats in the Monsterverse when it comes to strength.
Rodan being able to fly and carry his weight doesn't impress me considering all he is doing is flying. People were over glorifying King Ghidorah saying "He's strong enough to terraform the earth" when REALLY all he was doing was flying, the earth was just reacting to his insane size and the atmosphere was getting torn up as a result of his size. He isn't meant to be on earth since he's an alien, so naturally the sky would react differently to Ghidorah than to monsters like Rodan. You see what I mean? People are overglorifying Ghidorah just flying, I believe you may be doing the same with Rodan. I mean him being able to propel himself that high into the air with a single wing flap shows how strong his wings are, so that is a good point, but I don't think that or Godzilla throwing MP over his head rivals Kong's chain feat.
I do like that we can agree on what we wanna see for the strength and fight. I think that since we know a fully grown Kong can fight a fully grown Godzilla, that the fight we get will be very good and there won't be any downplaying. But kid Kong must get nerfed proportionate strength wise when it comes to Godzilla's strength.
I would also like Godzilla to win but barely, by the skin of his teeth. Godzilla wins the fight, Kong wins the night. Now I know it seems like I was downplaying Godzilla, but in reality I just don't want people to overglorify him in the MV. I think Ghidorah was very weak (Muto Prime wasn't weak and I think HE is the toughest alpha easy), and A LOT of people downplay Kong which is why I feel the need to either try and correct people and arguments like "gHidroah strong enough to TerrAform EartH!!" or "kONg getS onE sHottEd". It definitely comes off as me downplaying Godzilla, and hell maybe that's what I'm doing, I don't intend for that. I do love Godzilla and I don't mean to downplay him, I just think everyone downplaying Kong is either biased or misinformed/uninformed, so those corrections may come off as biased or downplaying. Sorry about that buddy. I should also take the time to say thank you for actually being a nice debater and being polite. I get so much hate because I do tend to lose my cool when it comes to people who keep using the same points I had already counter-argued which they do not refute, or if they just insult the monster I'm debating for because of bias. The fact that I chose to side with Kong is pretty controversial and my channel does suffer for it, but I don't really care, I just make the videos I want and wanna politely get my viewpoint across the board. You're a really nice debater and seem like an all around cool person, so I just wanted to say thank you for that!
And yes, that video will be coming up very soon. I'm actually going to just take the time and gather all a bunch of evidence, and then I will come through with the video. Sorry but there is a lot of problems with your video. Lets see.
1:How can an ape about 20 to 25 feet tall be stronger than an 103 feet tall ape. Also how could 2005 Kong beat easily a normal sized Skull crawler who are about 40 feet tall and 90 feet long.
2: You can not compare an island that we know all the creatures inhabiting it with one that we probably know very few of the those creatures. Also i am not saying that 2005 skull island is not deadly(for humans at least) but how can those creatures compare to ants bigger than humans, crocodile like creatures twice the size of a V-rex, the equivalent to the Kraken, the bats about the same size as the bats from 2005 but shoot lighting, the raptor like death jackals a third bigger than Venatosaurs and the hourd of thousands of two legged white headed lizards from hell that wiped out a hole species of Kongs much bigger, stronger and from what we see on the 2017 movie smarter. The 2005 creatures are extinct and extant actually creatures if they had thousands and millions if years to evolve. The creatures from the 2017 movie are "monsters" with them reaching titan status. The only reason things seem peaceful in the 2017 movie is because Kong is actively keeping things in check mostly by existing and preventing the Skull crawlers from rising. And about the environment of the island from 2017 we don't know everything about it because we have not seen it or have not been told about it yet. Plus most creatures there have evolved so much to a specific biome they don't have to leave it and get in danger or like Kong they are so big they don't care.
3: Monsterverse Kong had to fend for himself from his first day of life. His young life to our knowledge was certainly harder than 2005 's Kong.
And 4: How is 2005 Kong a better fighter than Monsterverse Kong when 2017 Kong is stronger just because of his size, more strategic, more quick thinking and obviously smarter since he can use and craft tools.

So... what you're saying is that the Monsterverse Skull Island fauna (walking mosasaurs, tree bugs, bats with lightning breath) are bland but plain dinosaurs aren't? Also, the humans were allegedly stranded on the island since WW2. Of course, they wouldn't be as violent as they were in the other movies.
The "multiple kaiju" concept makes Kong feel less special and takes away from the awe. Also, the Skullcrawler was winning because of ability, not size. If your assumptions were applied to the Toho universe, Godzilla would use Mothra as a punching bag every single time they fought.
Finally, this Skull Island is more based on the Toho films so the 2005 comparison doesn't really work.

The mega fauna on the island, asides from the Death Jackals and Swamp Locusts, are incredibly bland to me. The Iwi people were on the island for thousands of years as well. But the dangers of the island forced the 2005 natives to become savages.
The multiple kaiju doesn't take away from the awe, if anything it shows he's more powerful. It's a step down from 2005, which shows Kong fights for survival. MV Kong fights occasionally, the entire island isn't against him, but it is in 05 and 33. Skull Crawler didn't win the first time it shoved Kong's head into the ground, they was straight up raw strength. Mothra was just as strong, if not stronger, then Godzilla.
This Skull Island is based on realism, but it doesn't work when it comes to Skull Island. Instead of kaiju as big and bigger then Kong, we got bland megafauna. It was a missed opportunity and the fact that the island isn't populated with any creatures that threaten Kong besides the Skull Crawlers means Kong has nothing to do besides occasionally fight the baby ones.

Skullisland in the monsterverse is still very dangerous to humans as of the many predators on the island and remember only like six people escaped the island which is literally less then half of what they started with. The reason 05 feels more threatening is because Kong is smaller and it feels more personal. In terms Kong I argue so far due to his size and strength as of Kong skullisland is the second strongest version of Kong to date only being surpassed by the toho version of kong that appeared in king kong vs godzilla. Kong killed most the people to begin with, only like four people died to actual creatures. Compared to the 17 that died on 2005's island.
He is not the second strongest Kong, maybe like the fourth one but not second.
Kong 05 feels more threatening because he IS. That's why. Not because he's smaller and it feels more personal (???), he was a tenacious and brutal fighter who used his wit and strength and speed all at once. I doubt MV Kong can do that. He is not stronger. That is a complete lie. He was barely managed to lift Ramarak whilst 2005 tossed a V-Rex over his head with one arm, V-Rexes weigh more than Kong did (Kong was 8 tons, V-Rexes were 15 tons). How could the 05 Kong kill skull crawlers. Considering 05 kong died to inferior machine guns vs the ones on Vietnam era helicopters which only made monsterverse Kong bleed. And Ramarak was able to tank rounds from a Mustang’s gun that was which pack a bigger punch then those of a Curtiss F8C which killed Kong where the Vrex could not. If rammark was fighting Vrex’s of similar size they’d loose very quickly.

Monsterverse Kong didn't bleed from the machine guns.
Skull Crawlers can survive lava and are super durable against things like bullets and whatnot, but when it comes to another monster who is just as agile-if not more agile, and is significantly way stronger and smarter. I guarantee a scaled up King Kong 2005 would destroy Ramarak.

KingKong19100 if you scale up 05 Kong unless there you can show a full equation of durability there is no way that is assured. It is how shown that the monsterverse skull island has an objectively stronger group of creatures. And considering we will be getting more creatures like Camatoz reaffirms this.
Also according to official stats from 33 and subsequent material Kong is taller then the meat eater fulling standing up. But as for weight we don’t know as kong has no official weight

@@Zimzilla99 If you were to scale King Kong 2005 up to Kong's height, bullets would simply bounce off him. When you scale him up, his weight, durability, strength, speed, everything is effected. That's what scaling is.
Official stats do not matter to me. King Kong was never 50 feet in that film other than the shots of him climbing the Empire State Building. No matter the stats, the meat eater was clearly taller in the scene against 18/24 foot King Kong

KingKong19100 except there is no objective guarantee he would be stronger faster more durable etc.
there literally tons of examples of bigger incarnation of characters that are weaker then smaller incarnation I could provide multiple examples to.
To provide a kong example, the De Laurenttis Kong has a consistent size larger then the 05 Kong but is just as weak if not weaker then the smaller 05 kong.
“Official states don’t matter to me” so you argue based on head canon ok....
Also 33 is either hunching over, the majority of the fight and the times he stands up straight he’s the same height.

@@Zimzilla99 What my point is that King Kong, as a character, has gotten stronger over the years. 2005 was his most recent incarnation before 2017, and he was immensely strong proportionately. As a character, King Kong has always displayed immense strength since his early days, so to take that away is very much a nerf in my eyes.
I'm not arguing head canon, I'm arguing based on what I see in the film, as well as other stats confirming his 18 foot Skull Island height and 24 foot New York height. And no, even with a straight back, Kong is in no way as big or bigger than the meat eater.

Well he is the biggest Kong, which makes him the strongest. But if the OG Kong was put on Godzilla's scale, along with his island and the creatures in it, he would be MUCH stronger.
