Woo! Another video from 19100! Was hyped for this.
I remember back in 2016 when the trailer released I lost my shit when I saw that trailer for the first time. This film is definitely the best soo far in the monsterverse. Also, I really appreciate how you mentioned the game. Pure nostalgia for me.
How I would fix it:
- Like you said, make skull island far more menacing and oppressing. It to should be hell on earth. I want the monsters to keep their realism and cleverness but I want them to be far far more brutal and a lot more aggressive. Survival on skull island should be a necessity. The driving force pushing everything on the island. Kong being on the top of the food chain. Make skull island bigger too. Not just in size but to look far more grand. A place seeming to be almost endless and ridden with both beauty and danger. The atmosphere should be dangerous and far far bigger than you are. It should make everything on the island feel small compared to it.
- Make Kong a lot more menacing, HEAVIER, DURABLE, rutheless, sympathetic, muscular, and make him look like he's really been living on an island where survival is all that matters. With Kong wanting more than just to survive. To want to be able to love and not just have to hate. Give Kong some more mean scars.
- Make the Iwi more complex. Instead of being simply peaceful have them people who have some hospitality but are strict and also see survival as key, blending them in with everything else on the island. Which also isolated Kong from everything else on the island. Looking at Kong for some hope to survive in such a terrible place. They should have a good and bad side. Being VERY skeptical about the crew at first and interrogating them. Another thing, have them actually socialise. It's hard to believe they're surviving on the island without communicating with the main weapon humans have, their voice.
- have Kong as the underdog more in his fights. Especially the final fight. Perhaps adding 2 Ramoraks idk. Or like you said, much bigger. Personally, I'd have ramorak as much bigger.
- make the main/final fight far more brutal, fast and dirty. Make both titans seem very desperate to come out alive. With Kong just barely mustering the strength to leave the scene with a W.
- Make the crew take their situation far more seriously. Even having arguments among themselves more often. Causing tension. Make it more clear the madness Packard is in. And have his men inherit that while venturing around the island with him. With them growing just as mad and war hungry. Looking for an enemy. Nobody comes home from war, no man can wash away the scars from war. The youngest soldier who turns on Packard being the only one to snap into reality and understanding their situation is bigger than this. Bigger than the bitter taste in their mouth after the Vietnam war. Eventually leaving Packard as the only one who lacks what makes someone human, sympathy. His men being killed by Kong being more prominent to the audience that it's merely an excuse to make an enemy of Kong despite him asserting himself as an enemy to Kong. When Packard sees Kong he should be both baffled but also excited with the opportunity of making an enemy. Packard being no more than another monster on the island.

I like Kong Skull Island but I understand your criticisms. This Kong kinda went through what you said about being outmatched and having to fight for his life since that's what he had to do to survive on his own to get as big as he was in the movie. As a fan of Dinosaurs I agree that there could have been more Dinosaur-like Kaiju on this Skull Island to also pay homage to Kong's roots (and differentiate it from the original story for legal reasons).

I agree with the skull Island thing, 2017 would seem like an island you would want to go on vacation to.
2005 seemed to me like Kong was hardened not only by the creature but by his environment as Well.
I know this video is old, but I can surely see your take on the movie working out very well.
I mean, I can already imagine scenes of Kong clashing with all sorts of other big and dangerous monsters that lurk on the island, ones that look like they should be fighting Godzilla instead of him, only for Kong to beat em down after an epic battle, showing them why he’s the king of this island.
Thanks so much man! I agree, I'm pretty disappointed in MV Kong. Skull Crawlers are super low tier monsters and Kong isn't getting the best experience to fight Godzilla or other titans. He's got some crazy feats but at the end of the day he doesn't have a company like Toho backing him up and preventing him from looking like a whimp.
Here are the things I would add and fix:
1. Make the natives not fully trust Marlow. For example, the natives attack our protagonists and Marlow has to scare them off.
2. Add more Godzilla monsters like Gorosaurus, Kumonga, Kamacurus, and put more original monsters than the ones we had.
3. Like you said, make Skull Island much more dangerous than pretty.
4. Finally, have Kong fight more often in the movie and make him look like he could put up a fight with Godzilla.
Overall, I still love the movie but these are just some things I would fix or add.
Just add more Kong butt; an instant masterpiece.

@@bro-be3bd Man. Where do I begin? The main reason. KONG. Kong is soooooo and I mean sooooooo terrible in this movie. There's a reason why he's not called "King Kong" in the Monsterverse. This piece of shit doesn't even emote like actual characters do. 2005 Kong is what I would've inspired him off of. He's a human in this movie and it's fucking awful.
@@bro-be3bd KOTM did something I thought they would never do. Give every Monster a personality, story, and goal. Godzilla, Keep nature in balance. Much like in 2014, but this time he's not just a walking piece of meat. He's a character who emotes. He was just fighting Ghidorah to keep earth in balance, but in the battle in boston, you could tell he didn't care about balance. He just wanted to kill Ghidorah. The man ran at him and even smiled in burning form! He was happy that he was killing him! But enough about Godzilla. Mothra, Protect Godzilla at all costs. I think her story is the most tragic in this film. When Emma uses the Orca on her, she calms down. Do you know why? The Orca is made from Godzilla signals. (They even explained that in the movie.) Her and Godzilla have a strong bond. As sayed in the film. So all she needs to do now is find her partner. She instantly cocoons. Turing into het Moth form. After Godzilla is hit by the Oxygen destroyer, she flies over to Castle Bravo and talks with her King. Who knows what they were saying to each other. After Godzilla is powered up she heads to Boston to join him in killing Ghidorah. Suddenly Rodan tackles her and the two have a short but great battle. She defeats Rodan and pushes him off of her. After Godzilla got dropped from the sky, she crawls onto his back, giving out soft chirps, like she's calming him down. She then suddenly changes her voice to a more intimidating sound when she roars at Ghidorah. She sacrifices herself, healing Godzilla so he can finish the Battle. So what did Mothra want in this movie. Godzilla. She wanted him, and it shows when she got onto him. She could've went after Ghidorah from higher ground, like that Building she was on. But she wanted to be close to Godzilla and feel him. That's all she wanted. Her King.
Dude this is cool. That would be absolutely terrifying the see in the cinema let alone in real life.

The only movie that needs to be remade is Kotm ..this film was totally a wasted potential and full of garbage ..thanks to the director Mike D.🙏

i think legendary wanted to change the whole arc and do something new thats why the kong is more chimp like and skull island is more beautiful then scary but there monsters did need work cuz if kongs the size of godzilla by next movie the monsters should've been bigger and its weird how they make kongs parents the size of him in 2017 which is weird unless they were young too but like frl i hate that legendary always making inconsistency in there comics

I absolutely agree with everything you said. There are only few things I like to do:
1. Kong in the movie should be 147ft instead 103ft. The giant squid around 140ft and the Skullcrawlers around 150ft or 167ft.
2. Skull island should look closely like the 2005 skull island.
3. Kong should walk like gorilla do and only stands upright when he fights in close combat.
But, hey, I’m giving this rewrite a solid 5/5.
I agree Skull Island should had been similar to 2005 but i would also have the island have beautiful and peaceful locations and other locations that look like Hell. and I still think that there should not be dinosaurs on the Island, I want the island to be full of pure monstrous animals (tho i would make an exception for the Vrex). and I also want Skull Island to feel huge like 2005, 2017 Skull Island feels too small for me.

I have Packard losing even more men to the Creatures . He more interested at first just getting off the island then fighting a war against Kong. But as he loses more of his men , he then go off the deep end.
Have the death of his Ex O at the Supply Copper be the final straw.
And keep John Goodman character around , and have him interact with Packard. Make him the Biologist .
Not the Chinese Girl. He the guy that been studying the Creatures for years. He should be able to make better guesses. Packard ignores him and his troops are dying .
Marlow should also have problems and should be moving more then just staying and working on the boat.
Have it so the only reason the boat did not work is lack of fuel. It can use the fuel from the Coppers .
But unlike Packard , Marlow is able to keep more of his people in his group alive.
Not sure what to do with Bree character. If we need a Chinese character in the story for any reason other then have a Chinese Actress so the movie does good in China , then maybe cast someone like Michelle Yeoh instead of Bree Larson. It then clear that she not a Fray Wray standing or Marlow romantic interest. She heard stories about the island so there a reason she wants to go . Maybe she lost her husband or Father in the Area, so she searching for him.
If I ranking Kong Films Skull Island come second behind Kong 33.

I agree about the skull island thing in the beginning and the final battle was good but the sky should have been orange so you can get that feel that you are on a dangerous island and not some random place that anybody can go to. About the skull island 🏝 thing really if It were up to me I would just mix the 2005 skull island and the 2017 skull island ,60% the 2005 skull island and 40% the 2017 skull island.
I agree with you on a few parts kong should’ve been 10,000 to 20,000 tons but for the most part he seemed fine but he really needs to be faster and yeh the mother long legs should’ve been more durable and the only way the crew could kill it was by shooting their guns and maybe throwing grenades cause If it was more durable can’t really use their huge knifes and yeah the bones of Kong’s spieces should’ve been a hell of a lot bigger specially since it’s said that Kong’s parents were around 200 feet tall at least the size of the male muto so yeah the bones should’ve been larger and yeh the big one could’ve murdered kong right there I dunno why he didn’t also I would’ve liked kong to be around 190 feet and the big one to be much bigger cause it’s said that it killed Kong’s entire family when it was pretty small and Kong’s parents were around 200 feet and really agree with how skull island looked would’ve liked it to be like 2005s Kong skull island also yes I agree that he should’ve fought way more monsters than just skull crawlers and squid at least put in a huge serpent that was supposed to be in the film against kong and maybe a bat creature like camazotz

I would make kong 105 ft tall with like long arms and he can go quadripetal skull Island would be the same as 2017 except have slight details to make it like the 2005 Island and the monsters would look more like dinosaurs and some of the monsters resemble the 2005 skull Island monsters a weird looking pteranodon monster like the pteranodon monster from 1933 I would keep camisotes the skull crawlers and the natives I would keep the ewe but they would love like a temple ruins with huts and they we will always be like really big with cave paintings

We don't know if they were fully grown. Writers can try to confirm it, but until we have solid evidence, all we know is that a fully grown Kong can grow as big as the 355 foot Godzilla.
Kong’s parents were actually around 200 feet tall well Kong’s mother was smaller in the 50 meter department and Kong’s father is around 61 meters same size as the male muto and a lot of people instead of the people who made birth of Kong kinda already confirmed this
@@lewi_baton915 They were not fully grown. Fully grown Kongs can grow up to 350 feet, as tall as Godzillas, as the cave painting at the end of KOTM proves. On top of that, Kong has been absorbing loads of radiation.

One of The Reasons why I Love This Design more Than Your King Kong Design is Because your Idea of Design Resembles Captain America & The GvK King Kong Design Resembles a Barbarian Warrior, Viking or Something (Because of The Beard & The Battle Axe) - While King Kong's Design from The 2017 Film Doesn't Resembles Neither of That: his Design in The Film Resembles a Giant True Real-Life Normal Gorilla who can Survive by his Own

first off all dude 104 foot tall kong barely surviving 1200 degrees napalm is not as impressive as 12 foot tall juvenile skullcrawlers surviving much powerful flamethrower which can produce heat upto 3000 degrees.this show shows skullcrawlers are more heat resistant than kong
I never said they weren't. They bask in lava, they were clearly more heat resistant than Kong. GvK Kong is a different story.

If you think that, cool. To me, Skull island needs to have some kind of fear. Terrain wise, it needs to be more unique and more jungle like, just like with the original!
@@KingKong19100 I like this skull island it's something new it's supposed to be this beautiful place that holds these dangerous creatures. That's interesting. I like the creators of the island they're pretty inventive. Yes they're not titan/kaiju level threats but we got the skullcrawlers they're a big enough threat that kong can handle. Same for godzilla but he was asleep during this time. 4:59 so his entire species getting annihilated by the things that could pop out at any point isn't a challenge that's a dumb argument. 5:15 dude just accept this kong as it's own thing not everything needs to be 2005 king kong
