Animals with jaws that are highly angled relative to their jaw joint have weaker snapping bites, but because their teeth all touch simultaneously, they can grip and crush at maximum force for long periods of time without prey slipping out of their mouths or putting stress on weak points in their skull. (This is why blade-toothed theropods have straighter jaw margins than bone-crushing tyrannosaurs!) In real life, abelisaurs such as Carnotaurus had somewhat bulldog-like upturned snouts for this exact reason, but had much weaker skulls and more slicing-adapted teeth than V-Rex; putting the blunt force and sustained massive bite force together, a V-rex probably hunted through a mix of wrestling, crushing, and suffocation, letting them grab onto prey and refuse to let go until it's dead.
It’s also worth mentioning that the specific Vestatosaurs shown in the movie are implied to be inbred, meaning that the V-Rexes themselves are on the brink of extinction too.

Simply put it sounds like the Kongs were an invasive species that screwed up the ecosystem that had been established on the island it definitely sounds like the Kongs probably wouldn't have gotten very far without Human interference. Humans helped establish the population and allowed the population of the Kongs to grow. The Kongs helped defend the humans as we see by the many ruins around the interior of the island the Human population used to be much larger and more spread out on the island but either due to either a large natural disaster (earthquake or Hurricane) or a disease the human population got reduced down to the outskirts of the island. The Kongs got abandoned in the highlands the population was pretty self-sustaining but without the humans the Kongs slowly started getting killed off by the ecosystem. Disease wiped out a chunk of the population and the V-Rexs likely did the rest.
Well I was thinking the island would stay as it is by the time of the movie's story. There was indeed a crocodilian species exclusively found in the swampy estuaries of scull island. Its called Dirusuchus. The dirusuchus even competed with an archosaurid neighbour called nefundosaurus. Found within the coasts and estuaries of the island. But both went extinct centuries earlier.
I love the MonsterVerse, but I've always had a soft spot for this version of Kong and Skull Island! Freakin' loved the movie, games, merchandise, and lore of Peter Jackson's King Kong when it first came out in 2005! I still play the hell out the game to this day and thoroughly enjoy it!
To me the V-rexes and Skull Crawlers share the same aspects if you study both of them closely, both are reptiles who suited for the most dangerous island known to man, their are at the top of the food chain and both target Kong. The difference is that the V-Rex evolve through evolution like humans giving them more advantage to navigate small terrains and a stronger bite force while the Skull Crawlers can feed off radiation a substance the rexes will die off if they eat it in the monsterverse and a juvenile Skull Crawler is just as dangerous as a full grown V-Rex than a baby. It would be interesting if both of them were in a face off if a juvenile Skull Crawler face a full grown V-Rex to see who is the true Kong Killer and predator of Skull Island, what if the 2005 Kong can survive the monsterverse Skull Island or even better what if the 2005 Kong grew to the size of the monsterverse Kong and would he be a threat to Godzilla or result in the same fate.
Great vid, the v rex is severly underrated. Maybe it could possibly appear in MV sometime in the future considering foetodon and arachnoclaw from 2005's skull island also appeared in MV. Once again a goated vid
How about a video on how would King Kong do in the monsterverse? It could be broken down to three 3 scenarios. 1) Could King Kong survive the monsterverse's Skull Island at the size he was depicted in 2005? 2) How would things change if his size matched legendaries Kong in the 70s. 3) Then finally, how would he fair against other kaiju if he was the size of Kong in GvK?... I'm curious for he's not as intelligent as the Monsterverse's Kong but he seems to be pound for pound wise, a more physically imposing kaiju who performed a feat even Godzilla himself struggled with, win a handicap match. Godzilla struggled with a 2v1 while Kong defeated his rival species in a 3v1 which should be telling of what kind of combatant King Kong is in terms of skill, adaptability, resiliency, and grit.
This is my favourite depiction of skull island, it feels more lived in, the monsterverse one is too squeaky clean, there were no giant bugs or anything creepy it was just "heres a modern day animal, and now here it is with spikes"
I don’t think they had actually hated each other like two enemy forces would more just a classic predator and prey relationship it would be like saying lions and buffalo are at war
No they hated each other. Granted not at first when there was enough land for both species to coexist with the occasional territorial conflict but as the island shrunk that changed into a similar relationship that lions and hyenas or wolves and I believe coyotes have where it's kill on sight. Cause keep in mind these two species are used to being top dog in the food chain and neither is willing to give up that position.
Funny enough technically they are while lions only care about food and not the buffalo the buffalo will go out of its way to spawn kill lions (kill babies)
As someone who went on the King Kong: Skull Island at Universal Studios Orlando with my father at the age of 5 and then again when my entire family went again twice a month from 2020 to December 2021, I immediately started looking for similarities. This video helped explain more on the events that happened on the ride. Honestly, to me, the older movies are almost always better than the new ones, and that includes the older Skull Island.
Makes one wonder if the V- Rexes continued to evolve after King Kong was removed from the island. Also makes you wonder if there was a Jurassic Park type situation where a few dinos were captured for zoos
@@jasonchandler9777 I hope they managed to save the skull island hornbill. It was about the same size of Marshall eagles. And have unique and bizarre horns used to impressed females as well as hunt giant centipedes.
Hot take: I think both Jackson’s and the MonsterVerse’s versions of Skull Island are equally as dangerous. Think about it: evolved dinosaurs along with deep chasms, predatory fish the size of buses and territorial herbivores, vs a new classification of creatures called Florofauna. They could be hiding right next to or above you and you wouldn’t know it until it was too late. Whichever you prefer, one thing is certain. You are no longer at the top of the food chain.
I always thought that the V-Rex and Kong conflict was strictly for survival. The V-Rexes saw Kong's species are formidable opponents for their right as the dominant predators on the island and their fighting was to see who would be the dominant ruler of the island.
Peter Jackson’s vision of skull island truly inspired me to create my own story about what if dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals never went extinct and continued to evolve into much more advanced and intelligent creatures better suited to survive the world’s present day conditions.
@@IAkaksjdjtjeidi It’s called “Earth 2022” it’s set in the distant future roughly about 4200 years from now where modern technology has advanced to the point where humans can travel to different planets just by using teleporters, and alternative universes by using extremely advanced spacecraft. Humans can travel and explore alternative earths with different histories, what if scenarios and your alternative counterpart and how different they could be from you if you made one small change in life. Also a group of humans travel to an Earth called “Earth 2022” hence the name of the title this Earth was never hit by the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs so they continued to evolve for another 65 million years also Cenozoic animals never went extinct because humans didn’t evolve as their ancestors were most likely hunted for food by the many predators.
They should’ve put the V Rex in the monster verse. That way there is a different dynamic on the island top predators like skull crawlers versus V Rex is not just Kong.
They can't, due to intellectual property rights, the V-Rexes and other fauna and flora in KK 2005 belong to Peter Jackson and Universal. WB/Legendary won't have a lawsuit. Now if Universal and WB were to come together, then maybe. Just as WB & JK Rowling allowed universal to have Harry Potter in their parks. But when it comes to the dinosaurs of Skull Island, they can't touch it.
Thank you for this clarification: I always thought that the Peter Jackson and Monsterverse Skull Islands were just one island that had been ultimately and drastically changed throughout its existence and the existence of the other Kajiu were a recent discovery. By the time of Kong: Skull Island, the island had gone through a dramatic shift in environment, new creatures had been born there, new monsters from the Hollow Earth made their way on the island, and the Monsterverse Kong was the secret hidden child from the Peter Jackson Kong that had returned much younger than ever. But thank you for making me understand the differences...it helped me clear up a lot.
Would have been nice if those two movies were connected, but no. Peter Jackson would have been well within his rights to say no. He was making a remake of the original movie. The one made long before Godzilla appeared. So it was a love letter to that movie. Monsterverse just answers the question of which country's representative Kaiju would win on a one-on-one battle. Kong (America) or Godzilla (Japan) and ultimately it was Godzilla because even Americans respect Godzilla has every right to his title. But the fact that Godzilla and Kong didn't kill one another represents the cooperation between America and Japan. Sure, there was a time where they were enemies, but that doesn't mean it has to stay that way. Respect is what binds us, and thus binds our two Kaiju.
One of the few movies which had a great game adaptation. Truly hoping a reboot/remaster comes one day for the game adaption. With engines like UE5, Skull Island would even be more unsettling yet amazing to explore. Especially if it were free roam based
What cemented it for me was simply the popular fighting scene- he battles 3 v-rexes at once while holding onto ann. I don't think any other incarnation of Kong has topped this yet. Dude's a true beast
Possible video ideas: 1. Vastarosaurus Rex vs I-Rex 2. What happens if Ark’s Giga invades Monsterverse Skull Island? 3. 10 ways to die in Alien vs Predator 4. 10 ways to die in Pandora 5. 10 brutal ways to die in Star Wars
This is some amazing lore. And I know it’s very unlikely but I’d like to see the v-Rex and other dinosaurs/creatures from jackson s skull island return in the monster verse whether on there skull island or even in the hollow earth .
ngl, I love all channels who talk about dinos and fictional creatures in general, but this channel gotta be my favorite of all of them, since goji is one of the few that talks about hybrids
At one point in time there was talk about making a movie based on an exploration team going to Skull Island after the events of King Kong 2005. It's a shame it never got to be made.
Disease also works to explain Kong deaths because the virus carrying bugs would go after the warm-blooded and darker colored apes, while the V. rexes being likely endotherms and had tougher armored skin might have made Kongs easier targets when they came south. The Kongs might have been susceptible due to lack of exposure or that there were strains of diseases that eventually evolved to specifically target them and not the V. rexes. That and the far slower population growth mentioned, and V. rexes hunting their young, would have crippled the Kongs to extinction.
This is cool. I was expecting part2 of 10 ways to die on PJ skull island but this was just was good. The V-rex may have lost the battle in the movie but won the war…till the island sunk.
Amazing video! Something important to note: the ride at Universal Hollywood for Kong 2005 has been confirmed to be a sequel to the movie. In this ride we see another Kong fighting V. rex. So there was at least 1 Kong left
The way King kong had to kill those Three V rexes was very impressive he did on his own, not many creatures can fend off a group of predators like a Cape Buffalo, a mother Moose and Kangaroos when fighting off Dingos🦘🦘.
Pretty cool to see GojiCenter upload something other then the Monsterverse. It would be epic to see other franchises and their older movies like Gamera or Showa Kaiju films by Toho.
I love the dinosaurs of Skull Island, the V Rex is my spirit animal. Did you know that was a family group of V Rexes, and the female was no doubt pregnant? (In the World of Kong book its said that during the breeding season males would seek out females in their forested nesting area and remains with them for the time being hunting in her territory as juveniles would eat the remains of their kills.)Thanks to the disease that killed off Kong's kind, the V Rexes won the "war" in the end anyway even without Mr. Denham's help. BUT HERE IS THE IMPORTANT THING: EVERYONE ATE EVERYONE ELSES BABIES. Just like in a real ecosystem. Even the V Rexes would loose their own young to predation. There was no "war" as humans like to make it, no it was no more different then say Lions and Hyenas.
This for Me is the Real Kong, the current Monsterverse one is not the real King. He feels like a nerfed Version that needs help by Humans all over again
Shoutout to the Goji Shorts: The most terrifying first person perspective of life as an ordinary person living in the Monsterverse and Jurassic World cinematic universes. They always seem to scare me.
The 2005 skull island is a true Hell on Earth with even more hellish creatures that cover every inch of the island; nowhere is safe from the fauna of that island, and Peter Jackson did phenomenal at bringing the nightmare to life. My favorite part, of course, will always be the Kong vs V-Rex fight. The Monsterverse Skull Island had its share of awesomeness, too.
In my head canon, Godzilla 98 was actually a titanus VRex that grew to be massive and was mistaken for the GMan. Linking both King Kong 2005 and Godzilla 98 to the monster verse lmfao
Peter Jackons version of King Kong and Skull Island will always be my favourite. Don't forget he's the same man who adapted LOTR to the big screen, objectively some of the best films ever made. He knows what he's doing.
I love the world building established in the World of Kong book. It makes me sad that we didn’t get more of this lore. The only other way to get a bit more is through the game.
I think the biggest problem in putting Xenomorphs into any ecosystem or vs battle is the acid blood makes them virtually immune to predation, at least from any species that doesn't use projectile weapons. There are plenty of animals that could kill Xenomorphs but getting their blood on them would severely injure if not kill any attacker, which means any potential danger would avoid contact with them. Add that to their reproductive rate and you have an invasive species thats like Cane Toads in Australia turned up to 20. Kongs are maybe smart enough to learn about the acid after a bad encounter and learn to take them out from a distance but anything that tries to eat them would be in trouble
Hey Goji Center. Have you ever considered adding to your "portfolio" creatures from primeval? I think that analyzing for example future predator could be interesting.

The emotional spectrums of V-rex and Kong were unevenly polarized 10:33 a single Kong-Young was an investment representing decades of courting grooming and bonding, while any season of V-rex broods were the imperative of compulsions without any vestige of emotional investment: a Kong death begets focused-reprisals en-mass, while V-rex population learns to act proactively against decades long reprisals. Kongs feel deeply while V-rexs feel threats.

Yeah
I like this idea.
I think the Vastatosaurus rex will win very high difficulty
Great vid, the v rex is severly underrated. Maybe it could possibly appear in MV sometime in the future considering foetodon and arachnoclaw from 2005's skull island also appeared in MV. Once again a goated vid
I’m so glad that you covered the V-Rex! They’re a common but underrated foe of Kong.
Finally, some 2005 kong content!
What about the Mother Long Legs and shit
@@Waaris_771 one bug, congratulations
@RobinMlangeni we only see the mother long legs in the film, so I'll assume the others are from the comics
I don’t think they had actually hated each other like two enemy forces would more just a classic predator and prey relationship it would be like saying lions and buffalo are at war
Agreed. It's just predator vs. prey, but the predator is more oppressive.
The island sank 15 years after the film, so they went extinct.
@@comicop2513so 1948
Godzilla Minus One sunk it
According to the book, scientist managed to save a few species, but not all of them.
The V-Rexes saw Kong's species are formidable opponents for their right as the dominant predators on the island and their fighting was to see who would be the dominant ruler of the island.
the vrex is likely a more upgraded t rex but there skull crawler from kong skull island is more ferociuous
Peter Jackson’s vision of skull island truly inspired me to create my own story about what if dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals never went extinct and continued to evolve into much more advanced and intelligent creatures better suited to survive the world’s present day conditions.
What is it called ?

I really liked how much thought was put into making the V-Rexes
They should’ve put the V Rex in the monster verse. That way there is a different dynamic on the island top predators like skull crawlers versus V Rex is not just Kong.
They can't, due to intellectual property rights, the V-Rexes and other fauna and flora in KK 2005 belong to Peter Jackson and Universal. WB/Legendary won't have a lawsuit. Now if Universal and WB were to come together, then maybe. Just as WB & JK Rowling allowed universal to have Harry Potter in their parks. But when it comes to the dinosaurs of Skull Island, they can't touch it.
Yeah Imagine gorosaurus As a Evolved Vastatosaurus rex
“Ah yes, delicious babies”
-Some V-Rex
Good to see that you are looking back at old movies like this
One of the few movies which had a great game adaptation. Truly hoping a reboot/remaster comes one day for the game adaption. With engines like UE5, Skull Island would even be more unsettling yet amazing to explore. Especially if it were free roam based
Kong 2005 is the best kong nobody can change my mind. This video proves it. “Kongs body was a living testament to what his life was all about.” Fire🔥
What cemented it for me was simply the popular fighting scene- he battles 3 v-rexes at once while holding onto ann. I don't think any other incarnation of Kong has topped this yet. Dude's a true beast
Possible video ideas:
1. Vastarosaurus Rex vs I-Rex
2. What happens if Ark’s Giga invades Monsterverse Skull Island?
3. 10 ways to die in Alien vs Predator
4. 10 ways to die in Pandora
5. 10 brutal ways to die in Star Wars
I'd also like to see PJ Kong vs I-Rex and Ark's Giga invades PJ Skull Island.
V-Rex Vs Indominus would be THE HARDEST battle on this channel.
Vrex can kill indominus rex
This is some amazing lore. And I know it’s very unlikely but I’d like to see the v-Rex and other dinosaurs/creatures from jackson s skull island return in the monster verse whether on there skull island or even in the hollow earth .
@RobinMlangeni I’ve heard , which is really unfortunate and something that I hope they reconsider.
Id love to see the 2005 Kong featured on your channel more often. Put him in the battle simulations
ngl, I love all channels who talk about dinos and fictional creatures in general, but this channel gotta be my favorite of all of them, since goji is one of the few that talks about hybrids
At one point in time there was talk about making a movie based on an exploration team going to Skull Island after the events of King Kong 2005. It's a shame it never got to be made.
Nah because this video was beautiful, amazingly explained and made almost a movie like experience for us, love this channel
I really like the sound when V-rex try to chomp, they sound like hitting two hardwood together
Video suggestion (Jurassic related): What does it fell like to get killed by juvenile dinosaurs?
Test subject: Rainn Delacourt
This is cool. I was expecting part2 of 10 ways to die on PJ skull island but this was just was good. The V-rex may have lost the battle in the movie but won the war…till the island sunk.
I feel like the v-rex is almost like a version of Godzilla in another universe.
Best Channel for people who want more monster verse content
Yes! More PJKK content!
And Vastatosaurus Rex finally makes it’s debut on the channel!!!
Ay man New Upload nice.
Video idea: can indominous rex survive skull Island?
@RobinMlangeni Peter Jackson's ofcourse.monsterverse will be too much
If peter Jackson then yes. Cuz Peter Jackson Skull island is almost as Same Jurassic park
SHIN GODZILLA PLS EXPLAIN ABOUT THIS
This for Me is the Real Kong, the current Monsterverse one is not the real King. He feels like a nerfed Version that needs help by Humans all over again
Shoutout to the Goji Shorts: The most terrifying first person perspective of life as an ordinary person living in the Monsterverse and Jurassic World cinematic universes. They always seem to scare me.
Next video idea: Battle Analysis, Gojira 1954 VS Rodan 1956

We need battle face offs with this kong!
This movie makes me cry as hard as I did when I saw Passion of the Christ. The only 2 movies to ever make me cry.
Also makes sense why Kong was so brutal in dispatching V-Rexes. He really really hated them for wiping out his species and wanted his revenge.
V-Rex vs Isla nublar and Sorna would be dope asf
V-Rex would take both. The thing is basically a T-Rex on PCP.
@@Stinger522 yup
The 2005 skull island is a true Hell on Earth with even more hellish creatures that cover every inch of the island; nowhere is safe from the fauna of that island, and Peter Jackson did phenomenal at bringing the nightmare to life. My favorite part, of course, will always be the Kong vs V-Rex fight. The Monsterverse Skull Island had its share of awesomeness, too.
I wish Universal would continue this franchise theirs alot to explore and to create
Video idea: WIll The indominus Rex or Indoraptor (Your choice) Survive in the 2005 Skull Island.
Yo, Goji Center can you pls do top 5 strongest theropods in the jurassic franchise ?
It's crazy how kong was only defending the girl when using one arm, imagine how the fight would've go if kong was fighting with both arms 💀
Wait, but isn’t the Kong species in Peter Jackson’s king Kong vegetarian, not carnivorous
Perfect timing on my lunch break as always Goji
Can we get a V-rex vs Giganotosaurus Battle Analysis!
@Wendigoz Jurassic World's Giga, ARK's Giga will be Too Big and Overpowered!
I love the world building established in the World of Kong book. It makes me sad that we didn’t get more of this lore. The only other way to get a bit more is through the game.
Goji Center idea for a video: what if the xenomorphs are in peter jackson skill island?
What would happen if we drop Godzilla 1998, his offspring and his oldest son from the animated series on Skull Island and see how each of them survive.
1. How would Godzilla 1998 survive
2. How would the babies survive(with and without parent)
3. How would Godzilla from the animated series survive
I have always loved Godzilla, King Kong and Jurassic park. But your theories on kaiju and dinosaurs conflicts are amazing!! and I’m REALLY IMPRESSED by your analysis skills. @GojiCenter, I say with all my heart that you are truly the greatest dinosaur/kaiju enthusiast in RUclips history! 🐊🐍🐢🦖🦕🦎🦖🦕🦍🦍

@@КрокодилВВанной Again, it boils down to Kong vs Indom. I dont think even a V-Rex pack could kill it considering their bites didnt do any damage to Kong’s soft skin and fur, which preww2 bullets easily pierced. If Kong wasnt there Indom would destabilise the ecosystem because it would literally be killing everything for fun, and would eventually die after the island sinks into the ocean
If you think about it, skull Island could be growing in size, but that’s just my theory and in the monsterverse skull Island, it could be an alternate universe where the V Rex went extinct endless skullcrawlers killed them but that’s my theory
Hey, Goji Center any chance we can see Mama Scarface from Turok(2008), The Carnotaurus from Dinosaur(2000), and the Fasolasuchus from "65" show up in future videos? I think they would make for some interesting content.
this video nearly made me cry!! on the end the fact that kong was last to live for as long as possible... I litterally cried!
I wonder what happened after Kong left the island. Did the the V red become the top predator? Or did they go extinct?
They did become the top predator for about half a century until the whole island sank to the bottom of the sea
@@c.d.rstudios4691 More like just over a decade. According to the history of the island, it sank in 1948 after an earthquake.
I remember reading and buying the World of Kong book from Barnes N Noble when the 2005 movie was out. I still have that book in my room to this day. 🦍🦖
