Mark I just saw your video last night. It was very moving. I would personally like to thank you for taking the time to share with us about Ethan Leavitt. I've been out of the loop for a while and have not watched many vids, but I'm so glad I stumbled upon yours. I pray that you are able to see Ethan in Stuttgart. That will be so encouraging to him. Again thank you for sharing this info. I'll also write unicorn piper and express my gratitude to him also. Do well my friend.
Thank you so much for that, my friend! Yeah...my flight to Stuttgart is booked...and Ethan is on his way to recovery...thanks God! Take care, my friend! Be well! Mark
Wonderful words for Ethan! So many people have helped in the pipe community! I'm sure he will be well in time. Nice review of the spring blends. Here we have spring now, but then comes the very hot time of year. Love your little cottage! Very cozy place for a pipe and good book. Be well my friend!
Mike, my good friend! Thank you so much for that! Ethan really deserves all the help, we can provide! Enjoy the spring...I'm pretty sure, heat will come up...soon enough... :-) Hope, you are well, my friend! Take good care of yourself! Mark
I will be praying for you and your friend, Ethan. I can see that you are a compassionate man who is deeply moved. My God loves You and so do i. Thank You. You do a wonderful job.
Mark, as a father of 3 any free time to myself is spent at my guitar or my easle (with pipe of course) no time for videos. What brings me back though is PASSION. The YTPC is full of passionate people. For hobbies, for sustenance, for life. People of every variety in many places, with many interests. . What a special place in this day and age. This is what a social platform should be. Thank You for being the perfect example. Humans helping humans. Peace and be well,,,until next time...-David
Great review as always Mark. Managed to pick up 3 tins of the 2018 Peterson's St. Patrick's Day. Yet to break the seal. After watching this, I may have a bowl tonight. Brilliant work!!
I watched a couple of your videos today and enjoyed them very much, so I thought I'd leave a comment. With all the talk of aromatics, I reached for my jar of Mac Baren 7 Seas Original. I don't usually smoke aromatics, but I really enjoyed that pipe while listening to your video. Sometimes it's good to mix things up. Spring has also come very late for us here in the northeast US; very stormy and cold! I'm very sorry to hear the bad news about your friend Ethan, and I hope he gets better soon. I wish you a good day as well. Also, you've inspired me to buy my first meerschaum pipe today (I only have briars and cobs). Best regards from Cape Cod, MA, USA! 👍
Hello Brandon! Thank you so much for taking the time...and most kind words! Truly appreciated by heart! Spring finally made it! Typing these words outside... :-) Take care! Hope, you are well! Mark
Mark, excellent video!! Thank you for the information on Ethen. I will look into that. You have a very nice home. The fireplace is very captivating and you should include that into more videos. I found myself watching it during your talk. I enjoy your talks here in Texas and I look forward to them. Blessings to you brother
Well said tobaccos and pipes are what brought us here but our community and watching out for each other is more important thank you for referencing Ethan and his struggles.
Hello Mark my friend, Just getting back from a weekend away...to catch my breath again. Really good rundown on the springtime tobacco offerings, as usual... Many good words about Ethan, he's really in a bad spot right now, ...but we will do what we can as a community....as you've said, it is a great community. Thank you so much that, much can be accomplished if we stick together, I think so. Take care and we'll talk soon my friend, Corey
Good words, my friend! Thank you so much for that! We'll talk soon, my friend! Glad, you had a great time...and many thanks for the pictures...impressive! Take care! Be well! Mark
Very nice review and always good there hear more about Ethan and his family. Thank you for helping to get the word out. If everyone in the community donated what they would spend on one tin I'm sure his family would very grateful.

Terrible situation.. He is a good man no question about it my friend it is special
Brad, brother! Thank you so much for taking the time...and using precious energy for that! Yeah...saw something about the storm in German television..they showed the broken power poles... Try to stay warm...but save some matches to lighten up your pipe... :-) My thoughts are with you! Take care, my friend! Be well! Mark
Thank you, Mark, for your support of Ethan. As you said, he's a good man; and he needs our help and prayers, at this time. Let's hope that Spring isn't too far away, right? Great review of the seasonal blends, too. I may just try that amaretto one. I've enjoyed Petersons Sunset Breeze in the past...and like that flavor. All the best to you, my friend. Have a good week ahead. Be Well. Ed
Hello Ed, my friend! Thank you so much for that! If you can't get your hands on the JA-amaretto...just ask...no problem at all... :-) Take care! Hope, you are well! Mark
I'm just fine, Mark. Thank you for asking. Hope that you're well, too. That would be awesome if you could visit Ethan in Stuttgart. I know that he will recover, and your visit would certainly help. You're a good man, Mark. God Bless.
Another great presentation Mark! I purchased the Peterson's St. Patrick's Day 2018 last Month and I'll send you my thoughts when I've smoked it. I'll be making a donation to the fund this Saturday. Be well!
Just donated for Ethan. Hope he gets well soon, may the Lord be with him! On a more pleasant topic: That's perhaps the most beautiful meerschaum pipe I've ever seen.
Hello Ian! Thank you so much for that, my friend! Ethan really deserves it! And many thanks for kind words! Also much appeciated! Take care! Hope, you are well! Mark
Thanks for spreading the word about Ethan. I hope all that watch this video will consider donating at least a few dollars to his gofundme account. I only know Ethan through comment exchanges, but I know from those that he's a great guy. Take care, bud
Well-done as usual, my friend. I appreciate your thoughtful reviews, but more importantly, your compassionate appeal for Ethan. You are right, we may all come together because we are interested in pipe smoking, etc...but as a community we also care for one another as we are able as befits the ideals of being a true community. ---Todd
Hi Mark!! Thanks for the kind words with regard to Ethan...a terrible tragedy---prayers for his family and for a very speedy recovery! Ethan's funding page seems to be coming along nicely...I am certain it will continue to grow with the support of the YTPC community!! Be well---TIM
Tim, my friend! Thank you so much for that! Really so much appreciated! Just got an email...Ethan knows about the sympathy in the community...and is very grateful for that! Take care, my friend! And thanks again! Mark
I just love your videos. I always find them intersting.I enjoy it whether you're talking tobacco,or pipe,or your locations. I just find them entertaining. Is that a double barrel goose gun back in the corner on the left side of the fireplace? That's got some length to it.Did you ever do a video about the pipe or tobacco that got you into the pipe smoking hobby? Hope you had a great summer!
Thanks a lot for that, my friend! And...well...that's a, 18th century rifle from North Africa...probably used against the French...at least, I found it in an antique shop in the south of France... And no...never did a video about my first pipe...perhaps, I gonna that one day... Take care! Be well! Mark
Thank you so much for taking the time, my friend! And sorry, for being so late! Just running, running, running these days...lol... Yeah...I'm on it...have the baccys already for a while...planing for the next days... But for you: If there is a chance, get yourself a tin of Kohlhases Easter edition (very good!)..but it was gone, before it really hit the market...if you can't get it...go with JA's spring tobacco....also pretty good... Take care! Be well, my friend! Mark
Didn’t even know there was a 2018 St.Patrick.. Not available in the Netherlands . Only the 2015 and I have a tin of 2016. The St. Patrick 2015 is still available but is called Founder’s Choice in 100 gram tins .Lovely tobacco!
Thanks for the video Mark! Sorry to hear about your friend Ethan he sounds like a good guy.I certainly wish him a speedy recovery. On a slightly different note.........I recently watched your 'At the mausoleum' video which I found very interesting, especially the part about the stolen sword. My great uncle was a POW in Stallag 4b until he was liberated in 1945 after that he made his way back to the British lines. Somewhere along the way he acquired a "German officers sword" which he brought back to England. It was later sold to a antique dealer sometime in the 1960's. Just wondering...................
Hello Richard! Thank you so much for taking the time...and most interesting story! Glad, your great uncle made it back! And...yeah...during the war, there were many swords of cavalry officers around...some of them taken as trophies..even more sold in exchange for food or tobacco... but anyway ...an interesting thought...who knows... Take care! Hope, you are well! Mark
Hi Mark thanks for injecting a dose of realism into my feeble hypothesis. This story has been told so many times within my family that it has acquired an almost mythical status.
Hallo Herr Mark, well, as for Mr Leavitt, then there is this English YTPC Presenter Mr Simon, /Bpruk whos setting up a raffle for Leavitt as well, next up, the weather, If you had seen what we here up north have gotten lately you could not have believed and chittering cold in addition, temps were down to-20c, now when spring is around the corner I'm gonna start searching for my Vapers,or another lighter virgina forward, though is still too early, in the end, allow me to inquiry, what is the make of this Regulator, Becker,Hermele or Junghans? Mit den Besten Empfehlungen,Ihr Getreuer, Paul
Hello Paul! Thank you so much for taking the time! You always have a sharp eye...lol..and the most difficult questions...lol... Actually, I have no idea about the maker of the regulator...but I will look into that... It's quite precious to me... It's the only heirloom of my grandfather, who bought in the 30ths...and I used to climb onto that, when I was boy of 4 or 5 years... :-) Today, I consider it as the "soul" of my little "safe haven"...with it's calming sound... and it's also very precise... The winter...yeah...never had a doubt about that...but Bremen normally doesn't suffer that much cold...because of the gulf stream...we normally just suffer rain...which we had for several weeks... Thanks a lot for the hint on Simon's raffle! Take care! Hope, you are well! Mark
Yes, In the past I have been dealing with quite a significant number of older Deutscher'regulators and can confirm this yours looks really unique and pricey, yet the chime sounds being very well in balance, today I have only two restored Junghans and Beckers ,based on overall appearance I think this yours was manufactured prior to 1930 more probably in first decades of 1900
Great video as always, especially for nice Sunday viewing. I was thinking about these seasonal offering tobaccos. I haven't gotten any myself ever, but I suppose they would more often than not have to be aromatics wouldn't they? Something flavoured to try to catch the feeling of a season. I suppose it would be harder to capture that with just a straight forward English or Balkan or Virginia or what not. As for Orange flavoured tobaccos, I agree. I tried Rattray's Exotic Orange once and the scent was so powerful I couldn't even keep it in with the rest of my tobacco. I finally just threw it out because it smelled so strong and chemical like. Like a child's orange powered candy. Will spread the word about Ethan. I don't think I had run into his channel before.
Thank you so much, my friend! Yeah...good thoughts about the aromatics! Btw: finally...your tamper is ready! I gonna ship that as soon, as I find some time, to "tube" it... :-) Take care, my friend! Hope, you are well! Mark
Ah! Well thank you so much, Mark. On that other matter of Ethan, I've shared out some of the links along with your video and encouraged people to look into it.
Thanks again Mark, I always look forward to your aromatic seasonal tobacco matchups, you help me pick the right blend. Time to email Ronny before the tobacco starts to dry! I had seen Ben's videos and already made a direct contribution to Ethan on the GoFundMe page but it was very nice of you to make an exception for someone in need. As the german rightly says: "Freunde zeigen ihre Liebe in schwierigen Zeiten, nicht in glücklichen." P.S. Did you paint those fleur-de-lys on the wall? Love the grandfather clock, could it be a Gustav Becker?
Hey, my friend! Thanks for that! Hope, you're doing well! Yeah...Ben did a great job! I gonna fly down to Stuttgart on April 6...to see Ethan... He'll be fine now! And...yeah panted the lys myself...but (to be honest) with a special painting mask... :-) The clock is a Friedrich Mauthe from Schwenningen...around 1925...from my grandfather... Take care! Be well! Mark
Good style man, nice clothes (y) traditional, stylish. Are you German? I am from Finland and still living here. European pipe smokers. It gets super cold here in the wintertime, haha. I live in Northern Finland (Lapland, Lappi). Hard to get pipe tobacco here but yeah.
Thank you so much for that, my friend from the north! Yeah...I'm German...but I guess, my clothes can't be taken as an example for German style...LOL Hope, you're well! And all the best from Bremen to Finland! Mark
great to see you my friend that tobacco looks and sounds nice I hope your doing well , your new digs looks nice I love the fireplace , come see ole Berg when you get time and keep on choochin my friend

Bin etwas sprachlos... Schöne Grüße an Dich, Mark Andreas
Hello Andreas! Thanks a lot for taking the time...and very good words! Yeah...don't worry about the Easter tobacco...there are never enough good reviews! :-) It will be much appreciated...for sure! Take care! Be well! Mark
@@bremenpipesmoker6571 Hi Mark, thanks for taking the comment in good humor. Ive only just seen it.
Mark
Yes, In the past I have been dealing with quite a significant number of older Deutscher'regulators and can confirm this yours looks really unique and pricey, yet the chime sounds being very well in balance, today I have only two restored Junghans and Beckers ,based on overall appearance I think this yours was manufactured prior to 1930 more probably in first decades of 1900
Happy Spring :)
Take care, my friend! Hope, you are well!
Mark
Ah! Well thank you so much, Mark. On that other matter of Ethan, I've shared out some of the links along with your video and encouraged people to look into it.
Servus Mark. Have you ever tried any of the Motzek tobaccos? I see the Highland Balls on many German videos. It looks interesting
Yeah...there is a video about Motzek on the channel...but I never tried the "Highland Balls" so far...
Thanks for taking the time!
Take care!
Mark
Thumbs up on that one Mark.
I always like your videos .
Hope you're well Mark...........Miss your videos.
Yeah...I'm alright! Thanks for asking, my friend! Just been busy...but hang in...there will be an upload...soon!
Take care! Hope, you are well!
Mark
Good deal Mark..........Thanks my friend.
As the german rightly says: "Freunde zeigen ihre Liebe in schwierigen Zeiten, nicht in glücklichen."
The clock is a Friedrich Mauthe from Schwenningen...around 1925...from my grandfather...
Take care! Be well!

Yeah...I'm German...but I guess, my clothes can't be taken as an example for German style...LOL
Hope, you're well! And all the best from Bremen to Finland!

Bremen Pipe Smoker ohhh Mark thank you so much my friend. I appreciate that so much God bless
Nice Opinel!
Hi there.........Hope everything is well with you my pipe smoking brother.
Hallo Mark,
Bin etwas sprachlos...
Schöne Grüße an Dich, Mark
Andreas

What exactly is that YTPC thingy?
That's just an abbreviation for "RUclips pipe community"...
Take care!
Mark
