I'm four months in and for me laying my edges and/or wrapping my hair in a beautiful scarf makes me feel like a goddess + gives me the confidence I need. 💕
I don't know if im still in the "ugly stage" cause baby my face stay beat, earrings or outfit fly to MY LIKING so its a vibe period! Folk just need not worry about my crown....its a journey so they better just sit and watch cause my locs are flourishing!!! #5monthslocd and counting!!!
Today makes 1 year for my locs and this is all facts! It was def hard but with each day it only gets better. Wouldn’t change a thing 🥰 love your channel and your locs! 💖
I’m currently in the starter loc phased(2months in). Headscarves are my best friend. I don’t want to always relying on wearing the scarves. Because of that your tips are helpful.
Hoop earrings are the truth. Big sunglasses (big eyeglasses work too actually), a scarf around your neck, and big earrings make whatever else you have going on look intentional. Also pin one side of your hair back. Once again looks intentional.
lkmsundastood Thank you! I don’t really like that term but I get it. I only used it in this video because a lot of people relate to that terminology. I honestly just think it’s called having bad hair days.
@@ElizabethRosette i always call it the challenging period. I too don't like the term "ugly stage" but in all honesty, for many it does get challenging! Pretending like it doesn't (not you) can make many newbies feel alone.
@@luvlocs06 very true, as for me I definitely had challenging moments when I started. But with patience and love my locs have matured and grown beautifully. I'm thankful for going through this journey. Even @Ellebell Royal Beauty helped me by watching her along with a few others videos.
You helped me SO much when I had starter locs! You even wrote me back a few times on IG when I had questions or was doubting my journey. Very humble soul! Your hair is gorgeous and my hair has matured into beautiful Locs! Thank you

I loved this video. I started in May, and have been doing all of these things, it’s just nice to hear the backup. I’m definitely more stylish, fashionable and always have face and clothes on point since starting my locs 🙌🏾
There shouldn't be said there's an ugly stage , everyone's loc journey is different my daughter is 11 and has been loced 6 years , not once did I teach her there's an ugly stage. Embracing every stage is beautiful 👑
Davina Drayton even though I don’t prefer the terminology, it more about understanding what newly locd people are going through at the time. I’m glad you and your daughter embraced every part but not everyone feels the same.
Love your videos. Do you have any previous videos about your hair type before you decided to loc your hair? how long it actually took for your hair to loc? And how often you washed your hair when you had your starter locs?
Navyforeveryoung Jean-Philippe that’s great that you feel that way but a lot of individuals don’t feel the same. this video is more about understanding and helping them with what their going through less about the words. Thanks for your comment.

Lmao same! I'm not obsessed with having locs down my back, although that's the goal. I just want enough length to work with.
@@mndegrassi8 same 😭😭
