@@hemistormrc soon as I seen this I thought to myself, this is a very good rig they need to produce from factory. I like the stock version, but I bet this shorty will preform better in most ways when crawling it. Great job 👏
I would like to see axial come out with the quarter scale two-door Wrangler, that would put the wheelbase at just over 24 in. That would be really cool the tires should be 10 and a half inches tall that would just be really awesome
I’m hoping that the SCX6 platform will get a wider selection of available body options and styles. There is so much potential, I hope this 2 door and the Gladiator prove that. Thank you for watching!
You make the mods so simple that even us mortals can follow your lead! Well done Chris! Love the creativity and ingenuity! Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Wow, brilliant! I would say proportions are spot on. I've thought about taking the extended cab on my SCX10 III Gladiator and removing it to shorten the wheelbase a little. Seeing you tackle these projects and walking us through your thought process is encouraging. Excited to see how this one turns out!
Another banger job from the Hemi never expect anything less from your work definitely one of the best when it comes to custom RC work it looks great now I can't wait to see the end result so glad your back to making content
Hi Paul, that would have unfortunately make it too short. There aren’t many ways to tackle this as the rear window needs to be quite a bit larger compared to a four door. Always good to see you stop by!
@@hemistormrc fair enough makes perfect sense! Nice build love it. That short chassis would probably fit a New Bright 1/6 Bronco hard body! Just saying! 😉👍
Are the body sections overlapped, or butted? … you could also put black vinyl on the roof to cover the seam… the real Jeep sometimes has a black top so it could work
Hell Yeah! Looks as good as the 1/24 JLU I cut down to a 2 door. Luckily the 24s have various link sizes. I used Deadbolt front and JLU front in the rear. It's a great handling rig. I bet you'll love yours too
Love these vids brother! Thank you for being informative. It helps as a starting point for us rc enthusiasts. Great job and cannot wait for the next video
3brothers Rc offers a outrunner for the SCX6 its 860 kv 8s and alot smaller. This is a really cool build. Good job as always though your builds are all epic
To get the motor space needed turn the gearbox (transmission) round and reverse the motor rotating direction. You could make alloy panels in scale diamond plate to go from front doors to rear door fold round corner as you get on the 1-1 also for the hood to get the look going.
Good idea, but that’s not going to work. The rear is centered and the front is off center. There are setups in 10th scale where that would be an option! 🙌🏼
Great video, was waiting for it 👍 Maybe paint the roof matt black combined with a roofrack would look great. Or maybe time to 3D print a full 2door jeep body! Or something else too fit the shorter wheelbase
Definitely interesting and a unique mod. Just looks a tiny bit odd to me. I feel like the rear axel is a tiny bit too far forward which messes with the praportions to me. But that's just MY opinion. Still pretty awesome tho. And you did an AMAZING job with it all.
Your knocking it out of the park man. 😎👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The gladiator is bada$$. The 2 door is going to be awesome. Great work man. If I had a "Thays awesome" award. You get it haha. Super cool.
What about putting the rear section over the front section. That would cover your door handles or maybe you could chop further into the rear door hinges and make it into a 2door Truck. All your stuff looks amazing. It’s wonderful how you narrate these engineering changes for us in simple terms. What your doing is what we used to do on the first scx10 honchos. You could Possibly figure out what thread pitch the link rods are and rod O.D. Then buy the correct tap and die and drill bit. If you dont have a lathe chuck the link into your drill press or handle drill. Use a 3-1/2” cut off will on a straight die grinder and gently move down with the drill spinning and the cut of will spinning taking down your bulk link rod you bought. Then you can use the die and cut threads into the rod end using calipers to measure. You can use like a 90* die grinder and a sanding disk to take the rod down to correct threading size as well. The original honchos I would make my links out of 1/8” black steel rod. It could chase the ends with a 8/32 die and tap the traxxas revo rod ends with a 8/32 tap that would work excellent.
Glad you like it so far, these custom projects are never really simple to start with and a lexan chop is never easy. Let’s hope axial takes note and takes this into production!
Another awesome build!!! Have you ever thought about doing the 2 Door Gladiator? They only had them out for a little while, but might be a cool looking build with an overlander look.
This thing is awesome! I might have missed it, but are you planning to run an interior? This thing is just begging to be run topless! Plus the roll cage would look pretty cool, at least in my opinion. 🙂
Definitely plan on using the interior. Was a bit torn between keeping the cage square or going with a fastback look, and I think the fastback will be the one I’ll go with. Watch thIs space! 😃🙌🏼
Another great build, Chris. WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE WATCHING THIS GENIUS?!
You’re far too kind, my friend! I might need MORE COWBELL 🤣😁
Another unsung hero like mechanic after hours
I know right, Matt! Unfortunately lots of peeps are only interested in new RCs not as many interested in modding.

Will do, that’s a great idea! Thank you for the compliments!

Man! That looks sweet! Can’t wait to see where you take this
Off-road! 😉😁
It reminds me of the Jeep Wrangler X they produced that had the longer rear side window. Looks awesome.
I think the cut throws off the look at the moment, it’s actually pretty darn accurate to a regular two door wrangler as it sits. Thanks for watching!
That looks real good, great job. You need to sell that ideal to Axial. A 2 door SCX6 would be real cool. I’ll be watching to see how you finish this.
It is theirs for the taking, they have all the items and the license already. Maybe a "HemiStorm" mention on the box? Hahaha!
Should be named the HemiStorm Edition
This is insane!!! You have completed the trifecta!!! Well done sir!!! Can't wait to see the finished body
Cheers! It’s been a bit of think work but I like how things are progressing so far!
