Every line is a gem. The twist that the truck driver lost his truck made a incredible plot line and more gems. And the unlikely alliances. You're right. It's a diamond. Life couldn't have produced a better cast from people essentially born before the 1920's.
You couldn't find more characters in a MAD magazine metaphor. Pure genius. Excellent script. A list actors. I heard it cost 9 million to a director who only cast dramas. I'm sure the studios were happy with the returns in the first weeks.
Oh, I get it! It must be about Ethel Merman's "bosoms". I was depressed and I decided to watch this movie and I laughed so much. I feel much better ha ha
I'm 58 and I'd argue that this still holds up today as one of the funniest movies ever filmed.
I agree!
I’m also 58 and 100% agree. It’s my whole family’s favorite.
I love how the first 10 minutes of the movie is basically Milton Berle constantly repeating “he just went SAILING right out there!”

Like a stuck needle!
These are awesome to the best comedy ever, yes still & its june 2024!!!! Bettingmyself the last clip/scene involves a banana peal...LOL!!!! CHEERS!!!
This movie is one of the all-time leaders for having an all-star cast!
And they were ALL the comedians of the day!
Try that today!
I can think of a dozen such off the top of my head..

Fix me a drink like dear old dad used to make and not so sweet this time.
Funniest movie everrr😂😂😂
MY ARM!! YOU BROKE MY ARM!! 😂
Ethal Merman convinced me at 15 to never get married.
Try me! I’m pretty gullible!
That's a great selection of clips from an epic movie.
Ha!! One of my favorite movies. They were such shallow greedy characters.
Haha, mine too!
C'mon!! It's Easy!! 😂
😂
What's with the red bar across Ethel's cleavage? Otherwise, you pretty much nailed it! These are all the quotes we say to each other all the time.
YT Censorship.
Which includes:
No Buttocks
No Alcohol Labels
No Extremism Logos
No non pixelated or redacted computer screens / IDs
The red bar was to censor that runaway train non stop, hen pecking, loud mouth. A little short.
Stupid red line. Brings more attention to it than not.
