the thing i struggle with when it comes to friend-making is not being able to find people that have the same interests and values as me / only finding people that aren't good for me and bring out the person I was in my past.

I relate to this so much. I have a lot of friends close to me but interests are not the same, and generally what they all want to do is go out drinking which I don’t enjoy doing anymore.
i think we can all agree about the way fernanda makes our day better !

ngl being a black 20yr old women,
sometimes you just feel intimidated being friends with people because of how you think they may perceive you based on others opinions or like feeling uncomfortable bc i’ve always been told “ur a white girl in a black body” so i just naturally felt closer to white girls but never felt accepted by them. and then not feeling accepted by black girls either just made things confusing. this video really opened my mindset up to how simple friendships can be. and how much control i have over how people perceive me. and also how bright some people’s personality is. 😍

A few months ago, I also learned that our bodies respond the same way whether we're nervous or excited. So, I tested it out. I was super nervous about starting a new project, but I convinced myself that I was excited. And it worked!!!
Instead of feeling anxious, my body and mind associated the feeling with excitement and happiness. I was able to effortlessly breathe and smile. That was my story and I stuck to it. 😊 Okay, let me get back to watching.❤

Im sooo happy you are saying this. I had the feeling you were pretty burned out from NY fashion week (editing mistakes you usually dont do) I had to think about the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of this year meeting up with family and friends more, but I totally get it that you also are focussing on all those career opportunities with the size you have. Just dont forget you have all the time in the world.
Hi! I just found this channel through the first podcast and now after watching this episode I just have to say how much I absolutely agree and LOVE how you explain things and address certain matters like I think I changed a lot of my self identity with past experiences and it really put into perspective to let things go, start a new and put myself out there more. i fear that people I want to connect and make friends with don’t see the interaction the same way because maybe its not enough to continue be mutuals so that discourages me but that's okay too, all in the experience right? i just tell myself to move on there's other people to meet lol oh and I subbed to your other one too! love the content there! time to binge over my spring break hahahaa 💞

I first found your podcast when i was in a rut and i wanted to turn it around. I am so glad i did because ypur podcasts are the only thing that i can actually pay attention to or really take in and use the advice. With ither podcasts the person talking isn't that exciting or they say really big words that nobody can understand. I love these podcasts because 1, a very kind and friendly person is running it, and 2, i feel like i can really relate and listen to what you are saying. Making friends is not easy especially if you always overthink interactions before they even happen😂. I'm in college doing my second year and I only have formed one genuine connection , I'm truly grateful for her. But I want to make new friends but I feel as if people have already found their 'own' people whom they feel comfortable with and are not looking for anymore connections outside their circle. It makes me feel sometimes lonely because with that one friend , i'll be the weirdo if she decides not to show up .
