My wife and I are planning on purchasing the LX base model and will be putting down enough to keep the monthly note around $400. This will allow us to pay it off, with double and triple payments in roughly 12-18 months. A little savings and planning goes along way towards paying minimum interest over the notes life. Just the way I handle our finances. Remember to focus on YOUR economy and not THE economy. "Nuf said.....
Thanks for doing this review (owner reviewed), I'm thinking about selling my 2018 JLU Rubicon for a Pilot Trailsport but I like the rims on the EX-L, just clean! I think I read on forums, people use Econ mode so the acceleration isn't so abrupt from a complete stop. I bought a 2023 Passport EX-L for my wife last Jan, and driving it in Econ definitely softens the launch.
Nice to see an actual owner doing a review. The pilot is on top of my list. I have the Telluride and Palisade next. Question - have you driven it in a rain or snow? What’s your take on its performance?
We have not driven it in either rain or snow. In regards to performance I am very impressed. This naturally aspirated V6 is very fast and the 10 speed transmission gets you through the gears perfectly. I haven't even used the sports mode yet.
I have the sport, 1500 miles and the thing I hate the most is the transmission. The 9 speed transmission is always up and down shifting, sometimes jerky.. at 20 mph you’ve already shifted 6 times. Just my only pet peeve. Besides that it’s a nice ride.
So I have the 2023 elite and I hate the transmission and accelerator. Driving me nuts!!! I’m at 6,000 miles and I thought maybe it was a break in issue but it’s not going away!!!! I feel like there is also a lag when stopping and going. Even with my idle stop off. And the shifting is ridiculous. The car itself looks great and everyone fits comfortably in it but driving it is not what I expected.
It has a weird 10 speed transmission so it shifts funny and a lag even with the idle off. Look into that before buying one. I’m not happy about mine. It’s very weird to drive around town. Long distance no problem. But stop and go in this car is just hard to get used too.
I don't have any experience with the Odyssey. I would go and test drive both of them. If you need AWD then the Pilot is your answer. I dont belive any of the Odyssey vans have AWD.
The elite and touring has windshield and windows that stops any road noice, I have the elite and I must watch out for emergency vehicles with my music off.
@@erikk.2227 I test drove the Pathfinder and there was hardly any outside noise coming inside the cabin , then I test drove the odyssey and there was substantial differences. It was as if I went from luxury to economy car and the Odyssey was $7000 more. I love the redesign of the 2023 pilot but I don't think it's as luxurious as the Pathfinder. I'm curious to know if the seats are comfortable in your pilot.
The new Pathfinder looks nice and we would have checked it out, but my wife fell in love with the Pilot. The Pilot is also bigger. I would test drive both of them if you are still undecided.

We drove it in a heavy rainstorm and it performed great.
Just got the Wifey one same model blue with the light gray interior. She loves it. If you put it in ECON mode it smooths the throttle response.
I have the 23 Elite. Mine does not jerk as you stated in your video..
Just put a down payment down on this same car! Im pumped!!

If it's a 2023 it has the 10 speed transmission.
@@zx9green791 ya it’s 2023

Does this have the idle stop feature (engine cuts off when stopped at a red light)? I really don't like this feature and wish it defaulted to OFF.
Yes it has this.

I hope we get the Black Edition for the USA! Canada has it already but not us. Not a fan of the chrome
Had same issue with first gear during test drive. Almost dismissing the car now
What you you think about outside noise? Road noise?
I'm thinking of buying the Odyssey sport but I'm liking this one also which one it's better any advice please

I’ve got the same exact car. Over 600 miles so far. This white color you pay extra for, pearl white.
Do you ever have any issues with the wireless apple carplay?
No, it is working normally.
The interior could have been quieter if Honda had put the acoustic glass in all their trims but it only comes in the Touring and Elite.
The EX-L comes with acoustic glass in the windshield but not in the passenger windows.

@@billyjones589for what it’s worth you can get a good deal on a pathfinder and the seats are really nice
What's the monthly car note like?
Most likely $900 a month.
A lot of factors fall into this question such as: interest rates, down payment, monthly terms, etc.
What are your avg mpg
I have been lazy on checking it. We are doing a road trip next month and I will keep track on how it does on the highway.
We have over 3,000 miles now and I have never reset the mpg. We have been doing all kinds of driving from highway to city and the mpg is showing 23.2.
too bad Honda doesn't have the tranny start in 2nd gear when in Normal mode; that'd make the drive smoother.
